The professor is really takes the time to teach the techniques not just for sport, but for self defense. A lot of juijitsu gyms will have you grappling on day one, and this can lead to injury. I'm 45 years old and not in the greatest shape in the world and this really worried me due to knowing how physical BJJ is. I started my first class full of trepidation and worry. I was immediately greeted by the senior members of the academy like an old friend and I can't say how much everyone was very nice to me and welcomed me with open arms. They helped me with tying my belt and how to properly wear my Gi. Upon entering the mat area Danny Savery himself and all of the other coaches welcomed me to my first class and immediately made me feel at ease. I had heard from other people that this academy is more like a family and they were absolutely right! I can't say enough of how awesome this academy is and how much I look forward to going to class. They seem to hold the kids attention and keep them going the whole hour. I was tired just watching them. They ended with a game to cool the kids down, which they all enjoyed. Price is right, instructors seemed good. Just wish it were cleaner and a bit nicer.
