Love seeing the peacock family touring around with a nice diversity of the family members and their squirrel friends. I love how friendly people here are. I especially appreciate my experience at the bookstore/gift shop. They helped me find the perfect GuanYin for my meditation area and showed me many tips. I only wish that they can host somewhat frequent weekend retreats. I would love to come back to practice over the weekend. Many thanks to the wonderful people practicing here or helping out here. They also offer free books too at the hall. Would come back for another visit tmrw.

We really enjoyed walking around and exploring the beautiful and peaceful grounds. The City of Ten Thousand Buddhas is a large Buddhist monastery in Ukiah, California. The community includes a temple, schools, a vegetarian restaurant, and an animal sanctuary. The "Ten Thousand Buddhas" refers to the thousands of Buddha statues lining the walls of its temple. It is known for its peaceful, meditative environment and its emphasis on spreading Buddhist teachings, especially the principles of non-violence, vegetarianism, and mindfulness. We dined at the Jyun Kang Vegetarian restaurant and had crispy noodles and vegetables, fried rolls, and sweet and sour protein balls. All were very tasty!

I can't really compare this to any other experience I've had. Sidenote, there is outstanding Wi-Fi across the whole property, and my phone's 5G also did well (t-mobile). The thing they call cabins -- not really the name I would use, I dislike cabins, but this room was terrific. simple, but excellent bedding.

From the lush, vibrant garden (hands down the most beautiful I've ever seen) to the peaceful meadows filled with wild deer and turkeys roaming freely, every inch of this place radiates natural beauty and serenity. My partner and I came here to unwind, and we left feeling deeply nourished, inspired, and recharged. We had some profound creative breakthroughs during our stay, and were finally able to get the kind of rest our bodies and minds were craving. Our dogs were in absolute heaven too, especially swimming in the river nearby! But what made this place truly unforgettable was the people. The hosts are warm, genuine, and full of heart. You can feel how much love and intention has been poured into this land and community. It felt like we were welcomed into a sacred little sanctuary, and we're already dreaming of our next visit. If you're looking for a healing, grounding, soul-expanding getaway, this is it. Thank you to everyone at The Land for creating such a special space. We'll be back soon.

Since then I've come back regularly every year for a few weeks or a couple of months at a time. Odiyan is a hidden gem, an otherworldly place, like no other I've ever been. Life at Odiyan is very simple, work is very hard, but the time you spend there is so so worthwhile, heart opening and life changing. The way the community immerses itself into spiritual practice at Odiyan is through work, the daily practices and study. There's a lot to do at Odiyan. The grounds are immense and breathtaking wherever you look, and the amount and scope of projects are remarkable. The Buddhist teachings manifest at Odiyan as sacred symbols, temples, prayer wheels, stupas, books, online programs, and the grounds of this amazing unique mandala. Life and work at Odiyan are one. People there embrace the projects as their own, and the grounds as their own home. Having your mind and body immersed in the beauty of Odiyan's nature, and in the sacredness of what you work with, puts you face to face with your own idea of self, and with the purpose of being here in this planet. You meet your own resistance, and your own potential as human being to overcome it. Odiyan teaches you that you can be and accomplish much more that you ever thought you could. This is not your typical meditation retreat center, it's a place where people come to engage with concentrated spiritual practice that manifests through their work in the sacred art and construction projects, the gardens, care for the land and animals, the kitchen work and the practices and classes. My life was transformed by working and living at Odiyan and with this community, and for that I will always be thankful to this amazing community and its Founder. I don't think there's many other places on earth were you can have such a powerful experience. I would recommend anyone that is seriously considering a spiritual path or that loves simple life and hard but fulfilling work to try Odiyan for at least 6 months. This is the most amazing place to take an extended break from you habitual, worldly life.

I was interested in mediation instruction that would be free of religious dogma (hence my seeking a referral from the Harris website) and that was focused on meditation technique. I have found the Center to be exactly that. If a philosophical or religious concept is mentioned, it is quickly followed by the admonition not to accept any concept that is not evidence based, or does not make sense to you. The retreats at the Center have been a huge benefit to my practice (in fact, I hesitate to describe my meditation efforts before my first retreat as "practice". They were more like mind wandering sessions.). The Center is in a beutiful setting in the woods outside of Kelseyville. The accomodations are simple as they should be, but provide all that you need to facilitate mediation (the meals are excellent, btw). The entire staff is exemplerary and are fully dedicated to furthering the practice of attendees. Very worth noting - the business model for the Vipassana Centers is unmatched - all the retreats and courses, meals and lodging included, are free (the centers charges absolutely nothing for any of their services). The centers are supported solely through donations from, and the volunteer work of, people who have attended instruction. Regardless of whether one donates or later volunteers time, all are welcome back to attend retreats as long as they like (there is no means testing. People donate whatever they can afford, or wish to, or they are free not to donate at all. As far as I can tell, the donations are anonymous and not even tracked by the organization). I am not aware of any other organization that can match this demonstration of sincerity and authenticity. Finally, it is recomended that new students attend a 10 day silent retreat. This can seem very daunting for a beginning mediatator. Before my attendance, I was very uncertain that I would make it through 10 days and considered a shorter option. But attending the 10 day was one of the best things I have ever done. The first few days may be a bit difficult, but for me, the longer stay was necessary to get through those early days and to start realizing real results. I am now looking forward to my fourth 10 day retreat and actually find that the time at each retreat passes too quickly.

Exceptional place, peaceful surroundings, great pools, one of the best massages ever, tasty healthy food, and a nice selection of holistic classes/yoga/dance, etc. I was going to go this week, but the weather wasn't conducive for 50% of my stay. Prices has definitely gone up, and despite the 20 years plus, I find the massage Prices has been inflated to much (I am a massage therapist, and owned a Spa in Half Moon Bay). Recouping for the loss of the fire makes sense, and paying more for accommodations I'm good with... But, charging Ritz Carlton Prices for massages.... !!! Not so much. To the owners: Please allow this place to remain special..., meaning, let us (retired people, non-tech high income people) all be able receive the gift of touch I would personally get 3 massages in 5 days, but now... ouch... $160/215... + tip.... Just a thought, a Harbin friendly discount for several treatments... So glad you survived, and restoring this magnificent place.

In our know the self academy TSM meditation/visualization, we dropped into a whole new level of presence that felt pretty profound held in this incredible setting. A Breathwork session led by Spirit camp owners and stewards, Julian and Nathaniel, moved immense energies and there was a moment of release that felt both emotional and physical, like something finally reorganized. I'd recommend Spirit Camp to anyone looking for a truly transformational wellness retreat--especially those drawn to meditation retreats, nature immersion, soundbath / sound therapy and depth of inner work, this place and it's offerings delivers.
