Exactly what it says in the name! Dr Adana and Dr Chris are intuitive chiropractors and know exactly what your body needs. They have created the most family friendly place and it feels supportive and nurturing as soon as you walk in. There's so much to put your kids at ease for every visit; books, chalk board, wooden toys separate from the waiting area. They worked magic with my daughter and saved my neck after a snowboarding wipeout. I still use the neck support Dr Chris recommended years later. Before starting care I had an overall healthy lifestyle, but there were definitely areas that I wanted to improve. The biggest reasons that I sought care was for a reoccurring hip issue due to limb length difference. I also wanted to just make sure my body and nervous system were being supported in everyday life. As a long time patient of chiropractic, I knew when I found out that I was pregnant I would need dedicated and focused care. I found my way to Innate via a referral from another chiro I knew (always a good sign) and started care with Drs. Chris and Adana around my 9th week of pregnancy. As someone who dealt with both chronic migraine and loose ligaments, I was especially worried how pregnancy would affect my body. With consistent visits I can say that instead of experiencing an overall health decline with all that was happening internally, I actually experienced an overall improvement and had very few of the unpleasant pregnancy symptoms I thought I'd face. Post pregnancy, my baby and I are both adjusted weekly. With targeted and focused adjustments (and some lifestyle changes), I have gone from being a person with a migraine every 7-10 days to a person who has gone 5 weeks (and counting) without migraine symptoms. This review is for all the parents with reflux babies. Please do take your child to Innate Family Chiropractic. They can really help him/her! My son had silent acid reflux. We took him to the doctor 2x. We were told both times that it is normal for babies to cry and that he would grow out of it. We were desperate and did not know what to do. It was horrible to see our baby in that much pain.. Two weeks ago I could not take the constant crying anymore and looked online for help when I came across a reflux forum. Dr. Adana and Dr. Chris are amazing chiropractors as well as the sweetest people you will come across. I contacted them when I started getting excruciating pain in my wrist area after giving birth to my son. I wasn't able to use my hands without pain to do simple tasks like washing dishes, feeding my son, turning the steering wheel, etc. They helped me get both my wrists back to normal and functioning probably better than before. I have seen more than seven chiropractors by now in search of the one that could take the place of my all time favorite establishment that closed down, Back 2 Balance. There have been some great chiropractors but still just one or two things that were just "missing", so I continued to search and lo and behold, instead of finding one new chiropractor, I found two because this office has a married couple duo, Dr. Chris and Dr. Adana! Super sweet deal. Let me break this down for you so you can get a sense of what I was looking for in a chiropractic care facility and how Innate Family Chiropractic fills all those needs. So, if you are looking for something similar then you know you have come to the right place. 1) How the chiropractor and their staff make you feel. I wanted to feel safe, welcomed, and take care of. This place gets absolutely five stars for this. The doctors are so down to earth, playful, positive and willing to take the time to listen to your needs, and see if they can address it in any way. It doesn't really feel like they are pushing you to do something, though they do have strong opinions in some things. I like the sense that generally you are empowered and that they are offering you tools and knowledge to become even more empowered. The staff is amazing, they are always welcoming and breezy, everyone just has this down to earth, relaxing and friendly vibe about them. If you have any questions everyone takes the time to address them for you. 2) Talented and Knowledgeable Chiropractors who know what they are doing and customize the treatment to YOU. I have been to chiropractors that have a set regime, that don't fix things, and its the same treatment for you and everyone else every time. I know this because i referred these people and our treatment stories match. I like that here, generally there is a similar flow to things but you can tell the doctor specific pain points or needs and he/she will take a look at it and see if they can make an adjustment, suggest exercises/stretches, or other remedies that they may have picked up along the way. If you have questions, ask, and the doctors are more then happy to help you with a solution if they have one. This feels so above and beyond to me its amazing. I had a pain in my pelvic area and so the doctor added an adjustment for that and showed me some ball exercises to do. Another time I had a question about nutrition and they had suggestions for that. I had a question about fetal positioning and Dr. Adana emailed me a mantra for that she got from the birth center. Just FYI though, if you aren't pregnant, the x-rays are mandatory. 3) A nice ambiance that feels clean and homey. (No stark clinical atmosphere please) I love the decor of this place. It feels clean and it feels homey and inviting and open. My mom loves that there are cranberries and cashews in the lobby to snack on, it happens to be her favorite combination. The adjustment area is open which is something I haven't ever seen before and I thought at first I would be apprehensive that all the next patients are watching but it turns out that it's pretty awesome that you can pick up stories and tidbits of advice from everyone and everyone feels open about it, so it really is like a little family. There's fake grass on the ground, its cute. They even have a library that you can borrow books from that are helpful in nutrition, life, etc. 4) Generally affordable care and/or takes insurance without giving you a lot of hassle and long terms about how they are doing you a favor. They take insurance and they do it for you without a blink of an eye which is amazing. I went to a place before that had packages like they do but it felt so pushed. I like that they give you time and space to think about it and decide if its right for you. 5) Flexible Scheduling I like that they have open adjustment times so then there is less pressure if you come early or late. Sometimes there is a short wait but everyone gets the same deal. The only unfortunate thing is they don't open on weekends so its harder for me to refer people who work all day on the weekdays, but hey doctors got to have their lives too, am I right? 6) Free Parking & Easy Access Enough said. Free parking lot and two entrances to enter in sunny Pasadena equals Easy Access 7) Reward Systems, Perks, and other things that make the experience feel above and beyond Dr. Adana invited me to join a mom's group where she gives out great tips, and positive mantras to keep positive and elevated. It's really nice. I saw them give candle lite cupcakes to kids for their birthday! They have a ton of events too like coffee with the chiropractors. When Miles was born he was the typical sleepy little newborn and we were so in love... we finally had the little family we tried so hard for. We were totally blindsided when he turned two weeks old and he became an inconsolable terror. He would scream painful cries for hours on end and rarely slept during the day or night. We knew this was not "normal newborn behavior" so we took him to our pediatrician. He was diagnosed with colic and acid reflux and they sent us home with medication. We weren't thrilled with the idea of giving our newborn adult acid reflux medications but we were desperate to try anything to comfort our very uncomfortable baby. We gave him the medication and eagerly awaited the miracle cure... nothing happened. I then did what every modern mom would do and I turned to google. After finding several articles and forums suggesting chiropractic I was eager to give it a try. I had already seen several chiropractors throughout my life and was ready to find one for my son. We stumbled on Innate Family Chiropractic on yelp and I made an appointment that same day. That day is a bit foggy considering the level of exhaustion all three of us were experiencing at the time. I remember stumbling into the office with my husband and screaming baby and leaving with a glimmer of hope. Dr. Adana wanted to see Miles every day possible, she even came in on Fridays and Saturdays to adjust him. When she wasn't adjusting Miles she was helping me with my diet, referring us to a naturopathic doctor, suggesting homeopathic rememdies, even bringing me coffee substitutes to help me cope without my morning cup of joe. All of her hard work was paying off and Miles slowly started improving. It was hard at times to see the changes but we always noticed them on Sundays... the one day Miles wouldn't see Dr. Adana! Dr Chris and Dr Adana are excellent chiropractors and health educators. Dr Chris is very easy to talk to and an absolute brain when it comes to the topic of subluxation and the benefits of nutrition and exercise. I have been in his office many times to get an adjustment or just some words of wisdom. When I first sought out chiropractic care it was for the same reason most people start: my back was hurting. Now I've always been relatively healthy and injury-free, so this pain came as a surprise and, for a while, made falling asleep near impossible. Growing up, I had asthma, allergies and eczema for years, and things finally got to the point where the allergist and dermatologist couldn't do anything for me besides giving me steroid medication, and finally even that stopped working. In a very short time - less than six months - I have realized that my health and wellness has improved dramatically. Our journey to a healthier lifestyle began on May 2015, when my son Alex at 7 months old was referred to Innate Family Chiropractic by his Naturopathic Md. Alex was a premature baby born at 35 weeks. Upon delivering, he had trouble breathing on his own. Alex did stop breathing for a few seconds and required for the medical staff to stimulate his breathing with a bag and mask. He was then transferred to the NICU. Alex remained in the NICU for three days prior to being discharged. He did not show any signs of having respiratory problems again until he was two months. Alex continued having what I called "The scary respiratory episode" which was a cough, difficulty breathing and his face/mouth turning bluish/purple. Every single month, he would be sick. Alex was diagnosed with bronchiolitis, reactive airway disease and asthma. The pulmonologist even suggested to start him with steroids to help alleviate his respiratory issues. At this point, I decided to take him to see a Naturopathic Doctor. On his first appointment, the Naturopathic Doctor recommended for Alex to receive chiropractic care. At the beginning I was a bit doubtful of taking him to see a chiropractor because I did not understand how this treatment would help Alex with his immune system and respiratory problems. I had nothing to lose, so I called and made an appointment not only for my son but also for my two daughters, Zitlaly and Haylee, who also had health problems such as allergies, digestive/constipation, eczema and Haylee constantly getting sick. On their first chiropractic consultation, we met with Dr. Adana. She explained what chiropractic care is and the benefits of the adjustments. My three kids received their first scans. We then met with Dr Chris and he explained the scan results. At this point, we decided to move forward and start chiropractic care for my three kids.
