I really like the hours (open evenings/I can get an appointment after work). The other great thing is there is a lot under one roof--I've had x-rays/ultrasounds and been to the lab plenty of times. If you are doing a fasting test, they'll fit you in in the morning if you want. I haven't always been able to see my primary doctor if I get sick, but I have really liked most of the PAs and NPs or covering doctors I've met. Sometimes you have to wait a long time on the phone, but it seems to depend on the time of day. I like that there are specialists, too, and they are with South Shore Hospital--I went here to see a podiatrist, got x-rays, and then he did my surgery at the affiliated Ambulatory surgery center in Hingham. Then I had follow-up appointments with him and x-rays here again to check on the healing, so all in the one system, without having to go to Boston--and the surgery turned out great (he did the other foot the next year). My pain is gone when I walk, so this was wonderful.

The lab has terrible hours and I am lucky my schedule allows me to even come here when they are open without missing work. Upon walking in, there are no humans greeting you or giving any instructions. In fact, the window is covered with paper and there are signs everywhere that didn't apply to me and made it more confusing! I did sort of figure it out and walk to a tablet to sign in? I did that and then found the waiting room. Thankfully, another person waiting were able to at least tell me I did what I was supposed to, though she didn't seem to be 100% sure herself. While waiting, I could hear a staff member having a personal phone call. Then a few minutes later I could hear, "Well I have to go now...." I wish I had known to make an appointment? Either way, my experience was a bit confusing and annoying. Lesson learned.

I had an appointment at Quest and presented a physician's lab order that included "Hepatitis B…read morepanel" along with QuantiFERON TB, Hep C, HIV, CBC, and CMP testing. I explained to staff that the labs were for biologic/immunosuppressive treatment clearance. Staff repeatedly told me there were "so many" Hepatitis B tests and that the order was not specific enough, but they did not make a meaningful effort to identify the appropriate Quest panel, offer options, or contact the ordering provider for clarification. I left without service and went to a nearby Labcorp, where the employee took about ten minutes, reviewed the order/context, and was able to identify and process the appropriate testing. My complaint is not that the order required no clarification; it is that Quest staff were rude, late (I was waiting on my scheduled appointment made the day before for 30 minutes), dismissive, and unwilling to help resolve a common lab-order ambiguity. This caused unnecessary delay and forced me to seek service elsewhere, and the contrast in service was stark. Go Labcorp.

I did check through my insurance prior to having the tests done as well. Never was I told that they only have one test contracted through my insurance company and I would be responsible for the payment, which is costly.
