    Jalapeño and Swiss Turkey Sausage

We've tried lots of BBQ joints all over Texas, I think I've finally found the one I call my favorite! This place was jaw dropping, amazingly delicious food! We got the plate with 2 meats, a side, two drinks and unlimited bread, beans, sauce, and condiments. The moist brisket was the showstopper, it was so delicious it did not need any sauce at all! We also got the jalapeño and Swiss turkey sausage and it was packed full of flavor! With each bite you tasted the cheese and spice. We ordered the Mac and cheese and got a side of potato salad and both were equally delicious! The bread was soft and fresh, truly a nice touch to the meal. Service was extremely fast, and the restaurant was roomy and clean. Overall, I dare you to try and find a better BBQ spot that has the same value, flavors, and out of the world BBQ than Inman's. We'll definitely be back for more very soon!

Funny looking Q. And damned good beans and pickles!

Making the regular trek from Austin to San Angelo and had to try another meat slinger. I've hit close to a dozen in the last 18 months. Inman's is so clean! This BBQ joint was over half full when I walked in but there was NO line. Bonus star! It did get busy while I was there once the local game let out. Plenty of seating, including outdoors. Prices are on the high side of normal but not too outrageous. Ordered at the counter and got a buzzer? How long does it take to slice some brisket and throw a scoop of tater salad on a paper plate? 34 minutes, that's how long. Thirty. Four. Minutes. How did I survive, you ask? Beans and pickles. Self serve beans and pickles... Brisket - not bad. A little dry. Nice bark. Nice smoke ring. Good smoke flavor, good beef flavor. Kind of a funny color...Turkey jalapeño sausage - not very good. Even with sauce. Didn't finish it. Kind of a funny color...Fresh bread, potato salad, and all you can eat beans were all spot on. (Thank God for those beans and pickles). I'd stop here again, but wouldn't go out of the way for it. Who am I kidding? Cooper's is within sight of Inman's parking lot! I'll never stop here again...

While exploring Llano, we met a fourth-generation Llano native. And he recommended Inman's to us for BBQ. He related that President Johnson (LBJ) preferred Inman BBQ and had one of the Inmans cook for him on the LBJ ranch. Food: Excellent brisket, moist, mild smoke. Tender and flavorful pork ribs. The Bavarian black bread was the best BBQ joint bread we've ever tasted. And the beans were very good. The iced tea is fantastic too. Service: Friendly staff. Order at the counter, and when your order is ready they call your name. Ambiance: Modernized small town rustic but clean and not cluttered Price: $15 for a 1/2 two-meat "a la carte" option and two teas. Very reasonable prices. Overall cleanliness: Very clean Bathroom Cleanliness: Clean

We stopped into the Courthouse because it was beautiful. Ted the Court Security Officer said we had to eat here because it had some of the best BBQ in town. So we took his advice and Ted was right! Service: order at counter and seat yourself. The young girl at the counter explained how to order and was very nice. We ordered 1/2 pound plate of pork ribs and brisket with side of beans and bread. Food: Bread is awesome!! It is a beautiful dark bread that is soft with tiny amount of millet seeds (I think). They sell the bread if you want to take some home. Delicious! The pork ribs super smoky and great flavor falling off bone. The brisket was so tender that it literally broke in half when tried to pick it up with my fork. Super tender, less smoky than ribs, but delicious. BBQ sauce is not needed, but I had to try it. The BBQ sauce is the best I ever had. Not too vinegary or overpowering, but complimented the meats. The beans were served piping hot and best beans ever had at BBQ place. Not mushy and again complimented the meats. The ice tea was also the best I had not too sweet and not too bitter, perfect combination. The desserts looked amazing, but I was not hungry when I came here but I ate everything and for sure no room for pie, but they sure looked delicious. Interior cleanliness: above average Bathroom cleanliness: above average

I love this place!!!! Great BBQ and the renovations inside are new gorgeous! We use to stop at Coopers but it is soooo expensive plus you don't know how much it's costing you until you check out at the register!!!!This trip through Llano we went here and loved it! Met one of the owners and they are super nice! New restrooms are perfect and lots of seating! You will love it! They have the pot of beans to add to your meal and they have better bbq sauce than Coopers!!! Go enjoy Inman's!!! Great sausage too!!!

I have to make a confession. For as long as I have been coming to Llano for BBQ, I've never been to Inman's Kitchen Bar-B-Q & Catering. Mea Culpa! Last Saturday coming back through Llano from a road trip I decided to try this place. I ordered pork ribs, potato salad, beans, home made bread and pecan pie. As it was 40 minutes until closing time I was informed that they didn't have enough pork ribs to complete my plate, and what would I like to complete it. I chose, of course brisket which was actually played in my favor. I got to sample two meats! First the Pork Ribs: I look for 3 things when ordering pork ribs. Salt and pepper seasoning only. Check!! The meat must be tender, and juicy but not exactly falling off the bone but rather The meat pulls away from the bone and leaves nothing behind. These ribs were as good as any I've had anywhere. Potato Salad: Among other snobberies, I confess to is my obsession with a particular style of potato salad that resembles as close as possible to my Eastern European grandmothers. Nearly every other BBQ place/Joint I've been to has served a potato salad that consistently falls short in varying degrees. Because it's the BBQ I'm there for I'll suffer through it knowing even mediocre potato salad with BBQ is OK. Inman's potato salad caught me of guard. It was as close to holy grail of potato salad as I've found anywhere ever. Potato's firm but not mushy, pickles, onions maybe even celery [I'll be going back to reinvestigate]. Perfect seasoning; salt pepper, with mayonnaise, and just the right amount of mustard with what I imagine might have been a touch of Cayenne? Whoever is making this is nailing it! I'd almost eat that by itself. Pinto Beans: Like the usual sides at BBQ places the sides are often, for my money, just so so. Like the potato salad, whoever is making the beans knows how! Proper pinto beans need to be cooked a lot longer than most people cook them. These were creamy and flavorful. Homemade white bread. I almost always avoid bread anywhere I eat because it all too often that same old sliced sandwich bread I've known for all my life. I actually told the person taking my order that I didn't want the bread. Thankfully the person who made my plate put two slices of homemade white bread on my plate. I'm really happy that they did. The Pecan Pie: a word first about the pronunciation. Phonetically pronounced 'Pe-Kahn". This is Texas folks..the pecan is our state tree to pronounce it any other way is nothing short of, well It's not blasphemy but it ain't correct! The pies are, of course bake in house. I actually took it with me and ate it the following day with a cup of coffee. It was very good. Mediocre BBQ in Texas is actually difficult to find. It can be done but properly it's a rare thing. I rarely give 5 stars for a first time review. Inman's Bar-B-Que kitchen & catering gets 5 right out of the gate. It's that good. along with the sides being exceptionally good the portions were bigger than I expected. Epilogue: I'm sorry that it took me so long to get here. I know that there's another more widely recognized BBQ place in Llano. It's good too Yes...But my vote for all of the above, my review goes to Inman's. This is my new favorite BBQ place in Llano.

Fabulous barbecue! Drove to Llano on SH 29. It's on the right before you get in town…read more Inconspicuous signage says it's only open Saturday and Sunday. Opens at 11. You get to Tumlinson's before you reach the much more popular and more crowded Cooper's in town. Arrived around 1:30 on Saturday and there was only one car in the parking lot. No one else in the restaurant but no matter, the food is incredible! I don't believe there is something as the "best" barbecue. I think that there is a sort of supreme level that has a great smoke ring, a great bark, quality meat and basically melts in your mouth. So tender you can break it up with a fork but I might use a knife so I can create smaller pieces. THIS PLACE IS ALL OF THAT with perfect rendering and a master class in what a brisket should be. 5 out of 5. As good as any I have ever had and what I expect as the top of what barbecue brisket can be. The ribs were cooked perfectly with bountiful meat on the bone. The rub was not noteworthy but they were tasty and led me to use the sauce. The sauce is excellent - thick and vinegarry with a hint of sweetness. Only ordered one side - the potato salad. Much better than most. Not what I would put in the best category but totally worth eating. The pickles and onions? Wow! I wouldn't bother mentioning unless they were amazing. (Or terrible.) These were amazing! What I loved was that they cut up the onions in chunks rather than slices. The pickles were chunks of whole dills and not canned sliced pickles. Finally, I'll get to the ambiance. It's spacious with lots of seating inside. Good a/c. Two small windows that look out across the beautiful Hill Country for miles. Since the wildflowers were in epic form on the drive, the view was amazing this day. But it would be excellent without them. I should have taken a picture but I was too busy eating. We left Tumlinson's SmokyTop and went to Cooper's and as a comparison, I give the edge to Tumlinson's. The briskets were both in the same top echelon of what I expect a smoked brisket to be, but I think Tumlinson's was just slightly better. But where Tumlinson's crushes Cooper's is in the ambiance/atmosphere. Cooper's seating is indoor with no real outdoor tables. So you eat in a confined, windowless room that is not inviting. No music playing. Tumlinson's with no one else in it was memorable. I couldn't wait to get out of Cooper's. Felt a little creepy. Finally, Tumlinson's was selling brisket at $24 per pound while Cooper's was $26.99. This part is insignificant to me for the most part but there is a real price difference. Final verdict - Tumlinson's 5 out of 5. Cooper's 4.8 out of 5.

You could see the menu on the wall, the ordering counter was close, the food pickup counter was next to the ordering counter, the seating was in the middle, and the bar at the other end. After walking in and checking out the menu we walked up to the ordering counter. The person that took our order was friendly and patient with me. I wanted the El Burger that was listed on the menu but I didn't notice that it's only available on Wednesdays. The person told me that so I checked the menu out again to see what burger I wanted. I decided on LeRoy's Smash Burger which comes with smashed brisket patties, pickles, bacon & onion jam. I ordered mine without cheese. It came with a choice of a side so my husband and I picked the potato salad to share. I also wanted to try the Smoked Pork Belly Menudo which substitutes the traditional tripe meat with smoked pork belly. This came with onions, cilantro, and chopped jalapenos that you could add if you wanted. My husband and I decided to share LeRoy's Nachos which has tortilla chips covered in beans, queso, avacado, pico, crema, salsa, BBQ sauce and jalapenos. These come with your choice of meat and we decided on brisket. My husband ordered one taco to try called Chancho La Panza which comes with pork belly, beans, cilantro, and queso fresco. The Food. LeRoy's Smash Burger was delicious. I liked the flavor of the meat and the jam. The potato salad had a mustard flavor to it which I didn't mind. The Nachos were tasty. The BBQ sauce in them gave them a hint of sweetness in the midst of all of the saltier ingredients. The Menudo was spicy. I wasn't expecting it to be so hot but it was tolerable. The smoked pork belly mixed in the soup was good. There was also a crunchy texture mixed in that added to the experience. I tried my husband's pork taco and it was delightful. There was so much flavor packed into a single taco. Overall the experience was positive. The restaurant was small but comfortable, the service was good and the food was fresh and delicious.

I'd earmarked Old 300 as the place in Blanco, to go up against the others. We arrived on a Monday about 1:20p. After lunch hour, and the place was packed. (that's an indicator right there. One of the slowest days for restaurants during the week, and not at peak meal time.) The line went quick. They have what's listed as a "BBQ Sandwich" - it's a blend of chopped brisket and chopped pulled pork (not in long, stringy strands) together. We were going to hit other towns & sandwiches, so for the two of us we just ordered one sandwich and a side of potato salad. We got it to-go. Sat at an empty table. Got ourselves fixins - some doctored up onions (sliced, seems like they sauté them a little in butter and then top w fresh cracked black pepper), pickles, and both their Sweet and their Spicy sauces. They brought it out quickly, less than 5 min. We opted to just eat it there instead of take it to the next town. We topped with pickles, onions, and the Sweet sauce. Oh my freakin' sweet Lord! In this small Texas town with an unassuming spot a block and a half off the main road going through town, easily one of the top 5 bbq sandwiches of all time - no joke! To break it down, we tasted all items individually. The onions are delectable - softened from the sauté, good moisture from the butter, delicious. The Sweet sauce is crazy good. A fantastic balance of sweet, tang, & slight bite. I've never said this before but it's true - told my daughter, "I could just sit here and dip these pickles in this sauce for the next 30 minutes and be completely satisfied." The sauce, yes, is that good. Daughter is not a heat/spice lover, but she did try the Spicy sauce and we both thought it was definitely tame as far as heat goes. We both thought the Spicy sauce was okay. The Sweet sauce, though, stellar! We were overwhelmed by how good it all was. When we got to the car, I said, "All the ingredients together was like a symphony." Next time I visit her, am absolutely gonna suggest another drive out to Blanco specifically, to try some other items on the menu. But I can say this, for the BBQ Sandwich, pickles, doctored onions, and Sweet sauce alone, Old 300 is worth a generous drive and you will 100 percent be happy as a lark. Thanks for fantastic meal, Old 300. Will most definitely be back.
