STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!!…read more One star is a stretch, too bad I can't rate lower... Took my boat in when the port engine went out. Was told I needed new motor. Waited several months and finally work was done. Cost over 5k. After about 30 hours of use, the motor wouldn't start. When they looked at it they said compression was zero and I needed a new motor again! (Don't even get me started on how long it took to get that answer, let's just say their time commitment meant nothing, nor did the I'll call you back line.) I asked why the new engine was bad after 30 hours. They said it wasn't a new engine it was a rebuild. That was not what I was told. I asked to see the records showing my 5k investment was not a new engine, but a rebuild. They conveniently could not find the records. I was just told, our mechanic has a great memory! I asked if they would stand behind their work and help me out with repairing what they obviously did not repair. They said they don't stand behind any of their work. Wow! Maybe that should be on their front door! I was a sucker for trusting them! Don't be fooled by them, don't waste your time and money at US Marine (Sales & Service) or should I say US Marine Swindle and Steal?!

I just wanted the motor easier to raise and lower. When I went to collect my boat a few days later, I was told it now had an electrical raising/lowering mechanism (I didn't need anything that fancy and it was not discussed with me). The point is the bill came to over $1200 on a boat not worth more than $6000. I was not excited with that bill. Yes, the oil and plugs had been changed but really? In addition, they had gotten beneath the deck to screw in bolts and unsettled everything - they couldn't even put back the cushions that were under there. It really wasn't appreciated that I had to clean up after them.

I mainly appreciate that as he explain how something works or what it does there's not a hint of condescension or that I'm wasting his time. Most recently I had to take my 84 Bayliner Capri in because the motor had quit. He suspected it was something with timing and he was right. He kept the cost of the repair to what he estimated, let me know about some other things to do or keep ab eye on, and also suggested I take it back out in the water before I start trying different props. That speaks to integrity as he could very easily sold a prop to a newbie like me right then and there!

One of the first things we needed to fix was the toilet (for the in-laws). We bought an electric toilet and needed someone to install it. We were introduced to Nick from Binnacle Marine from a vendor in the marine industry. The one thing that stood out first versus other marine repair companies, is that Nick is immediately likable, and extremely friendly. He took the time to explain to us "newbies" what he was going to do, how he was going to do it, and then he just made it happen. He was so thorough with the install and so professional. He even cleaned up his mess after and it was like he was never there. That was on day one. With the laundry list of upgrades and minor repairs that we had, he was able to help up prioritize need to do vs. want to do, and has been very upfront, communicative, and informative. I have learned more chatting with Nick about our boat in 3 weeks than I learned in the 10 yrs of saving for this boat and reading about yachts, online. We won't use anyone else. Nick now does ALL of our boat repairs. The guy loves boating and it shows. His passion, his main mission is to keep people on the water and keep them safe by giving them peace of mind through the work he does. We will be recommending him to anyone that needs marine services in the Seattle area. If you want to see his work, message me. I'll try to update with photos (I haven't taken any because I didn't know there was a Yelp page until just now).

Back in November 2023, I took my BR600 blower in to be looked at. It was acting pukey, on off button needed fixed. I figured it needed a tune up, I purchased it at pawn shop 3 years ago for under 300 dollars, never had it serviced ran like a champ, and I'm hard on them! So I thought maybe bad gas, spark plug etc. They call and tell me a few weeks later that it needs carburetor rebuilt and valves adjusted. I asked how much, and I believe it was well over 300 dollars. I said ok let me think on it. My father had just been admitted to hospital with a brain bleed and wasn't doing well. The guy on phone said well you will need to pick it asap, like it was taking up alot of space? I was completely pissed after telling him about my situation he didn't care. So I went and picked it up, I believe I paid 50 bucks to have her looked at. I didn't have the time back then to look at it and was using my new 800 I had purchased from them. Well guess what? Last week I pulled the old girl out put new gas and new plug in her, yup she runs great! Same carburetor and no valve adjustment!!!!! Ladies beware, try and have someone who is mechanically inclined, look at your machine before going here, and get charged for repairs you don't need! Absolutely disgusted with them! I will go here for warranty stuff, but I will no longer step foot anywhere near here!
