Being from New York City I was spoiled with different cuisines from any country I could imagine. Being a transplant to Tyler, TX has kind of humbled me and make me more appreciative of the food back home. (NYC). Introducing Inka's. Peruvian meets Colombian cuisine. I am part Colombian so Colombian cuisine is something I am very familiar with, Peruvian not so much. The number one staple in Colombian food is going to be the dish called "Bandeja Paisa" which contains pork, beef, sausage, sweet plantain, egg, avocado, rice and beans. This is what caught my eye because it is what I am most familiar with. I also ordered a mango milkshake. This was not my first time being here at this establishment. The place stays pretty empty and it is quite unfortunate because the quality of food, the taste and the attentive to detail from the staff is above and beyond. Inside, the place is rather big and it looks like they have live music at times. I just wish them to a lot more busier because this is the closest thing I have to Colombian food. My bandeja paisa elevated me straight to Colombia where the taste from the pork was out of this world it was so crunchy yet so soft, the beans were amazing as well as the beef. Let me not forget the mango milkshake which was delicious. I need everyone to saturate this establishment and support this business because these flavors are international but teleported locally to serve good cuisine. read more

My husband and I stopped here for a late lunch after the spending the morning hiking at Tyler State Park. We are not very much familiar with Tyler since we live in Ft Worth, but we both love Peruvian food. We were so excited to find a Peruvian restaurant in a small town. My husband is from Peru and he approved the food. Everything tasted delicious! I even liked the rocoto sauce! I will definitely keep this place in mind when we are in town again. read more

Food tasted great, but definitely shellfish cross contamination going on in the kitchen. Be careful if you're allergic.

I happened upon this place in Tyler because I wanted something different and I'm glad that I did. When I tell you run don't walk to this restaurant. It just opened and the staff was very friendly. Overall the place was very clean. I ordered two dishes -- Tallarin Saltado de carne and orgia de mariscos. The tallarin was so flavorful and tasty. My little one enjoyed it as well. The orgia de mariscos had such a hearty flavor. All the seafood tasted fresh and the meal was made to order. I ordered a papaya smoothie and it was sooo yummy. It was served in a big margarita glass and they didn't skimp on the portions. I can't wait to try more! read more

My family decided to try sometime different, so we wend to Inka's Peruvian LatinCuisine. I have been to Peru and was excited. The waiter spoke no English, which I can deal with, but he was so inept. You know some people just should not do some jobs, he had no business being a waiter. He was lost from when we walked in. To get our drinks to approximately 15 minutes. The food took another 45 minutes at least. He brought out one plate and my so. Was done eating before he brought out my daughter's plate and so on for each of us. It had been so long that the waiter could not remember who had what. They don't have filtered water, so you get bottled water (charge for another). The same with sodas. They come in cans. My plate was tasteless. The menu says it comes with 7 shrimp, it came with 3. The rice had a saffron and cilantro flavor, but not in a good way. The rice had calamari mixed in. The calamari was so dense that it was inedible. It also had 4 tiny clams. This was the only item that was good, but I left most of everything on the plate as did my whole family. They could be great, but they missed the mark in so many ways, that we will not go back. It is a bit pricy for the quality, but the quantity was not bad, but it was mostly rice. read more

Who knew you could eat Peruvian food in Tyler, TX? You certainly can and Inka's doesn't disappoint! Our lunch was served promptly and the staff made sure we had everything we wanted. They have applied for a liquor license for those desiring beverages of the adult type. Be cautious on the hot sauce in the little bottle. It'll light you up oh so slowly and then it's too late. Food and service is phenomenal! We've visited twice so far and tried different dishes. Not only do you leave full, but you also get to experience amazingly delicious South American food. Great restaurant serving Peruvian & Colombian food. Owner has a restaurant in Dallas and now the one in Tyler, which is under a year old. The chicken with shrimp sauce was absolutely divine. And who knew white rice could be so good? Also tried the fried calamari with fried yuca. I wish the calamari had been crispier--it was on the chewy side. Try the papaya smoothie as it's great. I was in the area around lunch time and thought I'd have another meal here. I'm glad I did! This place has some really good food! I had the beef empanadas for an appetizer. I had them before but enjoyed them so much the first time, had to have them again. Still a hit! That crust, it's unlike anything I've ever seen before in an empanada. It has a corn meal base but very crispy, I would eat them again for sure! I love soup. So I decided to try a soup dish for the entree. I had the Sancocho de Costilla de Res. It's a beef and potato stew, and it's good!!! The beef is so tender. The broth is rich and savory. It's a great dish. The rich that accompanied the soup was perhaps the best plain rice I've have ever eaten!!! I would eat this dish again. Just like before, the service was excellent, professional and friendly. I hope they get a good following so they can stay in business. Tyler needs family restaurants like this one, good service and good food. It's not your typical Tex-Mex, but who needs another Tex-Mex place. Please give this place a try. read more

This is a must try restaurant. The food here is excellent! It's not your typical tex mex run of the mill mexican food. The cuisine is unique and very flavorful. We ate there last Saturday afternoon. Not crowded, very clean, nice room. Menu was a bit hard to read due to my limited Spanish. We ordered an appetizer of ceviche , that was muy bueno. My wife ordered the seafood soup which was loaded with seafood, mostly shrimp and squid. I ordered the salad with skirt steak which was excellent. Prices seem a bit high for the ambience and location, but for lunch was ok. No wine or beer service available yet. Hopefully that will change. read more
