She obviously didn't know what she was doing as far as the depth of the ink going into someone's dermis. We originally wanted to add white ink to another tattoo that was blown out to make it look right, but she told me that that was the wrong approach and we had to do this gigantic cover up. So aside from taking 7 1/2 hours to do what's in the picture below, she lied about the ability to just simply fix the smaller tattoo

I came to Inksmith for my first ever tattoo after doing a lot of research and landing on a design…read morethat meant a lot to me (my daughter's birthday) I emailed back and forth with Chalanda which included sending a preview of my design, and was happy to get an appointment on a Friday when she let me know Thursday they had availability. Being that I was completely new to tattoos, I was nervous but was amazed at how comfortable and welcoming the shop was. Well lit, incredibly clean, music playing but not blaring, just really nice all around. After I checked in with Chalanda and filled out my waiver, Luke came over and showed me a mock up he'd created based on my design and asked for my feedback on size, boldness, etc. He then printed me a few different sizes and we landed on one. Since my tattoo was a date in Roman Numerals, Luke made sure about 5 times he had the numbers right which was very reassuring. The inking process took about 20 minutes, and Luke made sure I was comfortable the whole time. My tattoo looks amazing and I was so happy to visit a shop that made me feel comfortable and relaxed - if I decide to get another one, I'll be calling Inksmith again!

I had a bad experience with my piercings years ago so I wanted to make sure my kid's experience was good. Liz was great with my daughter. Took it slow, answered all her questions, and addressed her fears and concerns. They used a very small needle. So much better and less traumatic than those guns. A piercing gun hurt me years ago so I wanted to avoid that route. They had helpful advice with after care. Things I'd never heard before like no swimming. Some of it was a little extreme, like no wet hair. Do your own research and see what your comfortable with. I just made my kid take a really good shower after swimming, focusing on getting clean water on the ears, and she didn't get any irritation or infections.

Well the mighty tattoo gods we're in my favor last week and I couldn't be happier with the work I got done here! First off, the space is inviting, adorable, and fun. It's clear they wanted to make the space inclusive and not be an intimidating experience for their clients. It's bright and airy and colorful. Art on the walls, hanging plants, disco balls, very Dolly Parton meets Chappell Roan vibes. I believe there are five tattoo artists on rotation. I worked with Liana Joy. I chose her specifically due to her bold application of heavy black in her tattoos. But really, any of the artists you choose are phenomenal at their craft. Liana showed me her piece when I arrived and I was thrilled. I loved the incorporation of black and the accompanying florals. No revisions from me, I said let's do this dance. A few hours later I was overjoyed with the piece. A cardinal memorializing my grandma, who I have only the fondest of memories of. We used to stare at the cardinals that would fly up to the window when I was a kid. Liana's application and technical ability shine through. I find it just so beautiful.
