On at least one occasion I received mail from the IRS which I forwarded to Bev. It went unanswered. Mostly recently I learned my business taxes had been filed incorrectly. Admittedly, I was partially responsible for this error as I had wrong information on my end. Bev took over a week to respond by which time I had already had someone else take care of it. Only when I went into the office in person with my complaint did I receive a call back. Both the person at the front desk and Bev were quite dismissive of my concern. Bev asked at one point 'how long have you been doing taxes' when I expressed difficulty trusting her advice due to my current tax circumstances. Through many calls to the IRS, I learned that my business' taxes were pending with the IRS because they were on the incorrect form. I would think my tax preparer would be aware my returns were not accepted. I also learned that my business taxes were not filed at all for one of the years. When I asked Bev about why they weren't filed I was told she had a medical concern that year and it was a tough year. The only remedy I was offered for any of the concerns was that she would file the amendments. I elected not to do that due to my inability to trust their work. In January the irs closed the audit with their own guesstimate because Tony never did my returns. I asked him what to do and he said ask the auditors. They recommended that I find someone else back in December and I should've listened. Now I have about 2 weeks left to appeal and I'm looking for a new tax professional to work with. Tony will say he's done thousands of returns and this is somehow my fault but I did my part only to be led astray time and time again. I've never been treated this poorly by a professional.

She did a great job for us in 2012. After my divorce, I went back to her in 2013. Then again in 2014. Up until then, I thought highly of her. I even recommended her to a friend. In 2015, I was disappointed that not only was I not getting a refund but had to pay back the IRS because my income had gone up while being enrolled in the Market Place in 2014. Rebecca's fee had gone up as well and when I queried her about it, he condescended to me saying that her clients didn't have so many W2's (I have several streams of income). When I had further questions about my responsibility to the IRS, she talked down to me to the point where was made to feel stupid. I concluded she wasn't the right accountant for me. Earlier this year, I finally got hold of an agent with the Market Place. After reviewing my file, she told me there was an omission on a form in my 2014 return that may have caused me to pay back more than I owe. She said it was something I needed to discuss with whomever had prepared my return. Reluctantly, I went back to Rebecca. Not only could she not figure out the omission in 2014, I found an error in her notes regarding my health insurance coverage in 2015 that would have cost me a penalty even though I provided documentation proving coverage for the entire year. When I went in to sign, I said I thought I had seen a larger federal refund on the file she emailed to me. Her manner suddenly changed and she held the cover letter up in my face and repeated several times, "this is what you want to look at!". I replied that I didn't understand why I wasn't getting more back since I claim myself and pay into the system. She smiled at me and told me I was ignorant. For this I paid her a fee of $220.00. She also tried to sell me a "Peace of Mind" agreement for another $189.00 for her services in the event of an audit. The manner in which I was treated was shaming and demeaning. They never told us to pick up our packet and we just got a thing in the mail telling us we owe for Kansas City taxes and we have a crap ton of interest we have to pay now. We tried to talk to liberty tax about it and they blamed it all on us and said we never picked up our packet, but we were never told about it. They weren't even willing to pay our interest even though they never once mentioned to us that we had to pay city taxes. They don't care about you, just your money. I would suggest H&R Block because they always have your back and actually do your taxes right. Super disappointed with the customer service here.
