The Village Salon is just an easy drive down Y Highway and is located in a lovely building just off Y Highway. The Salon is a full service salon offering, hair care, coloring, waxing, manicures, pedicures, and skin care services. Jamie is wonderful to chat with while she cuts your hair, she listens to what you want and she works with what nature gave you in order to enhance your natural attributes. I so appreciated a hairstylist that didn't want to color my hair, and actually affirmed my natural hair color, worked with my hair and its texture and gave me a professional cut that makes me look and feel great. I now know why a number of women that I have met in Belton go to The Village Salon. Oh, and did I mention that the prices for these professional services that would put any salon in KC to shame, are easy on the budget. I know I have found my new salon and look forward to my next return.

When it came to booking my appointment, it was a breeze using online salon booking site. I needed to add a service so I called and spoke with Katherine, the receptionist. She was very knowledgeable, helpful and recommended how to schedule what I needed based on what I'd already booked. I'd met my stylist, Kierra, by chance earlier this week. I was extremely excited to experience her skills. Pleasantries were exchanged and we jumped right into hair color selection. We vibed! She helped me land on a color then we discussed my cut. I have to mention it's been awhile since I've experienced salon service and this was truly TOP TIER! We chatted during Kierra trimming my ends, which is all I wanted because I want to keep my length. She talked about where she was cutting and why. We talked about hair care, products I use and like, how to use certain products etc. Kierra told me my hair was healthy. Yay I'm doing good! Next to the coloring.. which didn't take too long. Under the dryer, welcomed the extra heat sensation! Offered water. Rinse. Wash. The color was t as vibrant or bright as expected so in counsel with Zaida (owner- fabulous woman), they recommended highlighting and not bleach. I'm guessing my porosity, but my hair didn't absorb too much of the color as expected. It could be from prior self dyeing which was over 4 years ago. Of course I was in agreement with no bleach and appreciated the explanation. So onto the highlighting process. Kierra is such a professional and very personable. Her technique is well seasoned and made me feel so comfortable the entire time! So in between all this I'm trying to keep warm, it was just a little too chilly but I'm always cold. Using the "Powder Room" was a pleasant experience too! It's compact but functional and stylish. There was a trifecta of luxury with Ouai Hand wash, scrub and lotion for utilization that made me feel like I was at a spa! If you can't tell I enjoyed my time here and after the highlights were applied and Kierra took such care in styling my hair and telling me how to shake out the cast and so much more... Zaida facilitated hair photo shoot.. I felt like a beauty queen. I LOVE MY HAIR! I'm definitely going back! All of the other ladies and stylists who were there, gave me so many compliments and hyped me up! I also can't say enough about Kierra.. she knew my desire , executed it, has such a great personality and since of style! Oh and she is a makeup artist too! A couple of the stylists looked at my hair, I'm telling you it was bad. Both of them took care of it and when I walked out I was thrilled. I was beyond skeptical that it could be fixed. It was beyond fixed, it was beautiful. Everyone in the salon was so nice. It was a great couple of hours just hanging out.

Once for an eyebrow wax and they were kind enough to squeeze me in before closing on a weekday. I see Stephanie for my hair, who is such a sweetheart! Prices for color and cut are very reasonable compared to other high price salons in Overland Park area. Very clean salon as well, and there isn't any of the gossipy judgement going on here which I hate having to deal with when I just want to relax and treat myself. I need to start by saying this: I do not wear make-up. I don't like it. It makes me feel weird…read more Good. That's out of the way. Now on to my review about Roxana doing my wedding make-up!! She is AWESOME! Because I do not wear make-up on a regular basis (sometimes mascara, but that's it), I have had my make-up done by professionals a few times. Unfortunately, it always felt cakey, or WAAAAYYYYYYYY too heavy on the eyeliner and eye shadow to the point that I look like a sad, dying deer who's going out to the clubs. Roxana did a trial on me a few weeks before my wedding, keeping in mind the bad experiences I had had with heavy eye make-up. I felt like a movie star, but wanted to change it up to make it a bit more smokey (without too much eyeliner or shadow) and warmer colors on the day of the wedding. Folks, she didn't use eyeliner at ALL on the day of my wedding and still made me look awesome! The only problem I had was that my lipstick started bleeding onto my face by the time I left the salon, so my (cosmetologist) sister had to remove it and apply something one of my bridesmaids had with them. (I hear this could be fixed by not applying lip balm and applying lip primer instead *shrug*) Roxana, thank you for making me feel beautiful on the day of my wedding. I am SO grateful.
