Kids waiting room review I dropped my kids off so I could go…read moreto a medical appointment (ages 12 months and 3 years old). Upon return from my appointment, I could hear my son (12 months) screaming through the door. When I open the door, an employee was holding him saying "he's fighting his sleep so hard". The employee goes to hand me my baby and poop smears all on my arm. I replied "he pooped, he smells like poop. Not only that, but it's all inside his shorts. That's why he can't sleep. He's wet from poop" I go to lay my baby on the changing table when I noticed my three year-old is doing a potty dance I've never seen before. My special-needs 3 y/o is potty trained. He has been attending the ASYMCA since he was 20 months (operation little learners and other programs) and is very familiar with the staff. (I had never seen a woman who was in the kids waiting room today) when I asked my three year-old, he said that he did say "potty" a couple of times. He wasn't able to tell me why they didn't take him until I got there and asked for him to be taken to the restroom while I clean the poop off of my 12 month olds bottom half. I did speak with two directors before I left. I asked why my 12 month old was left in poop then informed both directors he's now suffering from a rash. They apologized then tried to stay that the woman in the kids waiting room didn't know he pooped because "she wasn't holding him." I informed her that I witnessed her holding 12 month old and that she handed him to me directly from her arms. I also told them that not only did he smell like poop, but she handed him to me in soiled clothes. (A diaper bag was left there with diapers, pull-ups, wipes, and a change of clothes for both kids. (No way she didn't smell or feel the poop seeping through his clothes). I was also informed that since the kids waiting room is only a two hour wait period that they aren't supposed to change diapers. Good thing I put a pull-up on my potty trained three year-old. Otherwise I would've been dealing with one pissy and the other shitty upon pick up. with all this being said my 12 month old won't be back. To leave a child in poop until he suffers a rush is ridiculous and they didn't even change his clothes. It sucks not being able to trust the military community around you. My husband and I are truly heartbroken.

I worked for them for bout a month and was still learning the kids names. I think they need to come up with a much better system when going to the school to pickup the kids. If the teachers say that they won't be riding the bus home then I don't think that needs to be confirmed. The teachers/school office are the ones who released them. And I'm sure got a signature. The drivers main concern should be getting them back to YA instead of sitting there with the kids on the bus waiting for YA to confirm the child was picked up from school after the school told you they were. I think they should have an aide on the bus as well. Cause most of the kiddos don't want to stay in their seats and bouncing around and throwing things. This is a distraction to the driver and the driver needs to be concentrating on their driving and the safety of the children, not having to constantly look in the mirror at the kids. This is just my opinion as a past employee.

Once we got towards the end of the trail ride, the trail guide directed us to a nearby field, got me off my horse and distracted me with taking my photo with my adorable horse June, when I turned around-there he was down on one knee. The drive from the gated entrance to the main office was absolutely gorgeous. Following the illuminated pathway to the leadership center was such a tranquil walk. The leadership Center was very well stocked with coffee, teas, canned drinks, in the refrigerator and there was a got/cold water station as well. Of course all the meals were catered so that wouldn't be to YMCA's credit. But the restroom facilities, the spaces indoors and outdoors were just perfect for our meetings and breakout sessions. I have worked as a trail guide for a few stables near me and over time realized how awful the horses were treated and boarded that I became adamant about finding a place that advocated natural horsemanship. When I stumbled upon the website and saw the amount of land and trails through an unpaved forest she had available I immediately stopped reading and called. Carol answered and we had an almost hour conversation because she was so personable and kind-spirited. When I finally narrowed down a day to come ride, I drove 5 hours and felt every bit of it was worth it. All of her 21 horses are let out to pasture and graze the land freely. I could walk through a field with a heard of horses and be completely at peace with them and they with me. It was breath taking. She had a few saddled and ready to go when I came and we went for a 2 hour ride that took us through wild, magical woods to a waterfall and huge moss and mushroom covered bluffs. I couldn't believe I was in Illinois. I did not feel like I was on a livery horse ride either- I felt like the horse and I were on a journey together. We cantered, trotted, and walked at times that felt natural to both the horse and I. It was just beautiful- so much so the spider webs stopped bothering me and felt more like a right of passage into this sacred land. As if this experience weren't enough already, after the ride carol invited me to stay at the main Inn and I was deeply impressed. The rooms were well renovated and I truly feel like I had the best of both the culture and natural world. This is definitely my go-to place for when I need to return to nature and I look forward to the upcoming retreats she has scheduled!!!!
