On 4.21.26 a coil failed on my 4 ton (est.) Goodman AC. Joe presented a tiered verbal quote for a coil replacement from his tablet. This ranged from $10K to $4K. The bill as provided was: HL5A - BAND-AID - Heat Transfer Media Coil System Rejuvenation. Job #201994583. Total cost: $4195. This came with a 30 day warranty. No part number referenced. On 8.10.26 the other AC unit stopped working. This is a 3.5 ton (est) Carrier unit Joe installed almost 10 years ago. This was job# 201994682. This was still under a full manufacturer parts warranty. Joe charged $129.95 for the visit and $600 to isolate the leak. Joe offered to waive these charges if I authorized the repair immediately. The verbal tiered quote was offered to us again this time starting at $11900 for the top tier repair with a bottom quote of $5500 (band aid). There was no reference that there would be no charge for the hardware and this was only for labor and refrigerant given the warranty. The quotes from top tier to bottom tier appeared to be out of line. Because I declined to agree immediately, the $729 charge was billed. I brought in an independent HVAC technician for an opinion. He confirmed the issue and charged $1550 for labor and refrigerant and replaced the coil. I've cancelled my warranty plan and will not use this company again.

They cleaned the coils for a very affordable price and our Carrier now runs way better than when we moved in! Keiley was super helpful and kept me updated throughout the process, and I decided to get a preventative maintenance agreement for twice a year service because I didn't want anything like this to happen again. We have had several service visits, including one to our new house right after we moved. I believe the technician Javier has come to every one of the visits, and he is extremely professional and really goes above and beyond. Before calling Renaissance, other companies simply would not even come out. Upon calling, a knowledgable tech immediately answered. This was refreshing simply because there was no hold music nor a time wasting answering service. An appointment was conveniently scheduled within two hours. Given that I have a tenant in the condo, the tech was willing to text me half an hour before so we could rendezvous at the same time. This level of customer service is very much appreciated. The tech arrived on time in a professional manner. Turns out the tech is the owner. He is knowledgable and conducted an investigation explaining the process along the way. This was great given that my A/C is from an alien planet. He admitted he had only seen three other units like mine in his career but still plowed through troubleshooting the issue. The price was fair and expectations set appropriately. If the issue reoccurs, there is no trip charge to come back out (a fair and honest practice). I called Monday afternoon for an estimate to install a Tesla charger, and just one hour later, Nelson was at my home. I received a very reasonable estimate and was able to schedule the installation for only two days later. The communication throughout the entire process was excellent. Chris did a fantastic job getting all the paperwork together for the permit and keeping everything moving. On installation day, Nelson arrived right on time and even contacted me beforehand to let me know he was on his way. Nelson is a true professional and expert at what he does. He installed the Tesla charger exactly where I wanted it, and the finished installation looks perfect. He paid attention to every detail, took the time to clean everything up afterward, and somehow managed to leave my garage cleaner than when he arrived!
