I had never seen a therapist, and I didn't believe it could make that big of a difference. We hit it off immediately. I felt so comfortable with her and I relaxed into our sessions quite quickly- actually to the point of really looking forward to and being excited about going to see her. She is an incredibly kind, understanding, warm person with so much to offer. I could definitely tell that she was customizing my sessions based on my needs and she was so flexible in terms of catering to what she thought would help me the most. Our time together really just felt like conversations, and she has a way of saying things that makes therapy seem so relaxing and safe. Her style makes ideas click in my head, and her use of visualizations and metaphors worked so well for me. During every single one of our sessions, I felt like she was just helping me learn to help myself. I never felt like I was the "client" and she was the "therapist", but she was just a regular person who was on my side and had my very best interests in mind. She helped me see how truly valuable therapy can be, and now I think that everyone should try it at some point in their lives- no matter what they are going through or what stage of life they are in. The skills she's given me have already helped me more than I ever imagined they could, and they will continue to help me and allow me to grow for the rest of my life. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone seeking help. I can't say enough positive things about Rosie, and I'm so very thankful that I had the opportunity to work with her. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and I plan to keep in touch with her for years to come. -AB

Rachel helped us recognize past hurts that each of us had been holding on to, and guided us through how to help let them go and begin to heal. Her knowledge of Imago therapy was extensive and incredibly effective in helping my husband and me learn new tools to help navigate tough situations. Our meetings were mostly via ZOOM which was just as effective as meeting in person. I honestly feel like we are both new people, and we have fallen in love with one another all over again. She seriously changed our lives. ***I CANNOT RECOMMEND RACHEL GELBIN ENOUGH!!!!***

When I first started seeing her, I was going through a pretty serious relationship crisis and needed support. For the first six months I met with her frequently, then weekly for a while, and for the past five years or so I've seen her monthly. It's reassuring to know that if something comes up I can always increase the frequency. Rachel is an incredibly thoughtful therapist. She remembers an impressive amount from past conversations and often brings up insights from years earlier that help put current situations into perspective. She also has a very calm presence, which makes it much easier to talk through difficult issues. What I appreciate most about her approach is that she doesn't tell you what decisions to make. Instead, she asks the right questions and encourages you to look at things from different angles so you can make better decisions for yourself. Over time that process builds a lot of self awareness. When I first began seeing Rachel our sessions were in person. Since 2020 we have met exclusively over Zoom, and I can honestly say the sessions are just as effective. She is extremely attentive and engaged, and the convenience of Zoom actually makes it easier to stay consistent. The biggest change I've seen over the years is in my relationships. My relationship with my partner, my family members, and even people at work has improved significantly. I feel like I communicate better, react less impulsively, and approach difficult conversations in a much healthier way. Another thing I value is that I can talk to Rachel about almost anything. She listens without judgment and helps me think things through in a constructive way. For anyone looking for a therapist who will challenge you thoughtfully while also providing a steady and supportive presence, I would highly recommend Rachel. Looking back over the past decade, working with Rachel has been one of the best decisions I've made for my personal growth and relationships.

My husband and I have been seeing Gabe regularly every week. We have been married for 10 years and…read moreeverything was great until COVID - where we both have been working from home for the past 3 years. Mix in two toddlers and it was a disaster. We knew something had to change but after several attempts at "fixing" our relationship ourselves, we knew we needed to get help. We found Gabe and he completely changed the trajectory of our relationship. It was our very first time seeking help from a therapist, and it was a scary step. Going into couples counseling, it is easy to have the mindset that 1 session will fix everything. In reality, it takes weeks and months of work to establish a good, trusting relationship with your therapist so that they can dig into the deeper root causes of the issue, instead of just giving you a bandaid that will only help temporarily. I appreciate the structure Gabe has in place to understand us individually, our goals as a couple, and the problems we were having. We could tell from the start that Gabe's goal was to help us get our relationship back on track, and not to judge or offer opinions about whether we were still compatible. This was very important to us - even though we knew we had problems, we were still both very committed to trying to make the marriage work. Gabe helped us work through issues both big and small, he gave us tools to use individually based on our own personalities and past history, and tools to also use as a couple. I am so happy to say that my husband and I have had huge improvements and we are in a much happier place that I feel confident we can sustain without weekly counseling meetings. If you are thinking about couples counseling (or even individual therapy - he has greatly helped each of us individually as well!), I would highly recommend Gabe!
