Once we arrived security pads you down and you are in. The music is loud and the dj plays great music! The waitresses are really nice and the bartenders are great! Since it is a new club it still needs to become known, but the thing that got our attention is the drink prices! They were cheap and amazing! The bartender was quick and they were nicely prepared! When the bartender, Becky gave me my change, I asked for clarification on why my drink cost what it did. She immediately turns around towards the register as she explains why it costs what it did, and grabs a dollar to slam down in front of me. I didn't ask for this. But since we're talking dollars, I'm owed $3 more. I simply asked for an explanation. And when I asked her to repeat what she said because I didn't hear her response, she berated me; "oh my gawd, how many f$*&ing times do I have to repeat myself? Are you a f^%$ing idiot?" To which I responded, "woah I'm just trying to understand why my $5.50 drink cost me $9.50! After that I just saw red. I abruptly pushed the incorrect change off the bar and walked out. At the door I said "I see why this f#%*ing bar is empty! (There were 2 other people in the bar at the time at 1030pm on a Saturday) I was livid! And though I feel that was an appropriate response to the verbal assault from Becky, I do wish in the moment I just walked out without saying anything. This is the service you can expect from The Cove. Where the owner cares more about being a "bar owner" than he cares about how his customers are actually treated. Having worked in the service industry myself, I was genuinely taken aback by Becky's response to a very basic question, asked in a perfectly appropriate manner. When I'm off of work and trying to unwind at a local dive at the end of a long week, I won't pay to be treated that way. There's no need for it. P.S. Don't open a tab here!

Last night, I was told I was not allowed to be in the establishment, which is a non-pet-friendly establishment, because they have cats living inside their facility, so they do not allow any animals, even service dogs. This establishment is known because also of the food that it serves and offers throughout the community. I feel that this is a health regulation and not only a health violation, but I was discriminated against, denied entry and services because I have a medical task-trained service dog, which is considered medical equipment. I understand that every business has the right to refuse service in Texas, or just in general. But the way that the employee handled this, I feel was extremely unprofessional, very rude, and was uncalled for. I am writing this review because I do not want any other disabled individual who has to have the use of a medical canine to be treated the way that I was. Also, so it be known that they have felines roaming around their establishment where they serve food. I know that everyone will have their own opinion on this situation. However, if somebody does not say something, then establishments like this will be able to continue to get away with it. The disabled K-9 handlers will continue to be discriminated against. I do not wish any ill will on the establishment. I just want it to simply be known. Thank you, and God bless. Update: 9/24/26 I was able to get in contact with the owner, he and I had a nice conversation. He was completely unaware that his staff is telling individuals it is because of cats that they do not allow service dogs. He told me that the felines have nothing to do with why they do not allow animals or service dogs inside. That he has been trying to get rid of the cats but they continued to go in and people end up feeding and playing with them. Explains why they are so hard to get rid of . But the Main reason is because many people have done what unfortunately I get discriminated against a lot for . They lied about their animals being service animals and they or the dogs cause problems in the past. I understand why businesses are hesitant and untrustworthy of their patrons because of dishonest individuals. But the way and the reason for why I was denied service is unacceptable. He said he will have a conversation with his staff and he has been working on getting the cats out of the establishment. Thank you to the owner for speaking with me and for addressing this manner. Sidenote: People do not understand just how much hurt and discrimination is caused to Real Disabled K9 Handlers from the dishonesty of trying to pass off a non trained pet as a medically trained service dog & what it can do to disabled individuals as myself and many others. Before you decide to lie about a pet and say they are a medical tasked trained life saving alert service animal think about if one of your loved ones that God forbid becomes and gets to the point of being medically disabled to where that they may need the assistance of a service animal and then gets treated and judged against because of a choice you are making to be dishonest .
