That alone wouldn't be possible in Indonesia, where there would at least have been a regional denomination (east javanese, middle javanese, sunda / west-javanese) if not, a local one. Anyway, Bandoeng started as a post-colonial restaurant, survived the passing of a generation that was born in the dutch East Indies and is now finding its way into the future. Here in The Netherlands they are more plentiful due to its colonial history in the Indonesian archipelago and Dutch-Indonesian immigrants living in The Netherlands. There are typical Indonesian dishes they spoon into plastic tubs (of varying size) for you to take away. Beef Rending, Nasi Kuning (yellow rice), Sambal Goreng Boontjes (spicy green beans) is what this guy took away. Everything was well made and tasty. The rending could have been spicer but that's what the sambal badjak (Indonesian hot salsa) is for!
