This Thursday just gone, me and my fiancé had the pleasure of dining out at Indigo following a reccomendation from a work colleague. This being the first time i have seen the building since its transformation from being a pub into a restaurant. The building from a external point of view was unreconizable and has undergone a major face lift. Upon entering, we were greeted by a member of staff immediatly, however we were starstruck by the interior design of the restaurant, they had really gone to town with this rennovation. Every thing looked like it was there for a reason and had a place, from the lights, the seating and the ornaments.
Follwing a pint of cobra (finally ive found somewhere that has it on draught), we were directed to our seats, which was a nice private booth which still maintained a open feel. Whilst munching on poppadoms, of which the dips were excellent, we were suggested, by the waitor to sample some of "indigos specialities" to taste with our poopadoms and help us with our order.
Following this me and my fiancé both had dishes from the taster sauces, a Sadari Bhuna and a Dabara Tikka, both of which were new to me and my fiancé, who are avid curry fans.
The mains were delivered in perfect time, accompanied with a cheese naan and a portion of mushroom pilau rice. The cheese naan was huge, and unlike other restaurant's the chesse was consistent through the naan, not lumped up in certain places.
The dishes that were ordered were just like those delivered with the poopadoms, and the C.T and Lamb complimented the dishes well. The Mushroom Pilau Rice was piping hot when delivered which was compulsory as my finacé had suffered from food poisoning from another restaurant which im not gonna name.
Following the end of our meal we were offered hot towels which were a nice touch and a conversation with the manager, telling us about the transformation and future plans, which was nice of him during his busy schedule.
Overall a brilliant experience, and lets just say talks are underway for the summer staff party. read more
