Pork chop and garlic mashed potatoes

We had a great meal. The salad was so fresh and full of extras. The pork chop was cooked really well. The mash potatoes were so good. The place was clean and the service was wonderful. I recommend this place.

Super friendly service! Amazing food! Fun atmosphere. Woman that helped us was great! She recommended a few items. Everything we ate was great!

Oh my word! When I say brunch was amazing I mean it. The pimento cheese bacon sandwich was unbelievable. And the green tomato jam is wonderful. We had to buy some to go! Our server was the sweetest and very attentive. The only downside is I live in St Louis and can't come often!

I've seen pictures of the food here on social media and finally decided to meet some friends here for dinner. I like the ambiance of the restaurant. For starters we shared the soul rolls which and and spinach and artichoke dip. The soul rolls which are stuffed with collards and black eye peas were flavorful. The spinach and artichoke dip was quite bland. Force entree got the shrimp and grits. It was delicious. The goat cheese in the Cajun grits were a great addition. The gator I tried had good flavor as well. For dessert we split the pecan bread pudding. It definitely was a nice finishing touch to a great meal. I would definitely return. Good food and service.

Hello yelpers....talk about a true rock star location with awesome ambiance and world class staff. Our server Gina made the experience. I had the pork chop mashed potatoes and the corn with onions and peppers. The wife had the agave salmon and it was giving the chop a run for its money. Oh yeah and we started with the soul rolls... outta sight! Parking is good and if you find yourself in abbeville passing thru if you don't stop here you my friend are truly missing out on a righteous food experience!

Stopped for lunch here on our way from McCormick, SC to Asheville, NC. Great food, cool vibe. We had the Southern Nachos with pulled pork, the Black Eyes Peas Gumbo and the Soul Rolls (a southern version with collard greens and black eyed peas). Don't miss this place if you're in the are

Stopped by Cottage House Restaurant in Cleveland and this place is exactly what you want if you're…read morelooking for a solid, no-frills Southern breakfast. First off, the setup is super easy. You walk in, grab a tray, and you've got options. You can go through the hot bar and get served right there, pay, and be on your way... or order off the menu, sit down, and they'll bring the food to you. Very simple and efficient. The inside is spacious with plenty of seating, and there's also outdoor seating if you want it. Parking is easy too, which is a big plus, especially compared to the chaos you'll run into closer to Helen. Food wise, I always judge breakfast spots by the chicken, egg, and cheese biscuit... and this one held up. The chicken was tender, the biscuit was soft and fresh, and overall it was a solid start. The surprise for me was the hashbrown casserole. It came out good, but once I added a little salt, the flavor really popped. Definitely worth getting. The pancakes were also done right... nice crispy edges with a soft, fluffy inside. That's exactly how pancakes should be. Menu wise, they've got everything you'd expect from a Southern breakfast spot... biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, country ham, pancakes, omelets, and even lunch style items like burgers and plate meals if you come later. They also have a Coca-Cola fountain, which is always a win. Service was friendly, especially for early morning, and the whole place just has that comfortable, old-school home cooking feel. There is also a drive thru if you don't feel like leaving your car. Overall, this is a great spot if you want a good breakfast without the crowds. Simple, tasty, and easy.

For the life of me I can't figure out how this restaurant got a 4.5 rating…read more Two of us ate there today about 2:30 PM for the first time ever. The food sits in bins under warming lights for who knows how long and servers dish it onto plates for you. I had fried chicken, 2 legs, as they only have legs and breasts, mashed potatoes, creamed corn, cornbread and iced tea. The food was barely warm and the chicken was quite greasy with very little flavor. A good southern restaurant should have great iced tea, too, but again, not even close. We both declined dessert as it looked as if it had been sitting in those cases for several days. Also, no real butter to be found. Just that whipped spread that doesn't have a trace of milk or cream in it. No ambience inside, just several wooden tables everywhere and a few booths with torn seats and backs. The floor was pretty dirty and the whole place could benefit from a good cleaning. This is a first and last time for me as this restaurant does not even come close to real home cooked southern food.
