Missed the November inaugural opening of this Tampa Heights monthly market. So made sure I was part of the crowds that seemed to be arriving from every direction when it returned on a Sunday afternoon in December. This is such a great scene that I can only hope that the market becomes a fixture for this neighborhood. Parking may require circling the surrounding blocks a few times and a walk to reach this part of Franklin Street where vendors set up along the sidewalk, inside the Rialto Theatre and adjacent Hidden Springs Ale Works. So comfortable walking shoes, bags to carry off purchases and a little patience while slowly winding your way among the various vendors will greatly enhance your experience. There are all kinds of items for sale from original art, handcrafted candles and soaps, jewelry and plants to greeting cards, leather bags, clothing (new and not-so-new) and records. There are some food trucks and food and beverage vendors so be prepared to treat yourself to some tasty treats such as baked goods, cold brewed coffee, craft beer and cold-pressed juice. As crowded as it was, people were very congenial as they made their way around to view the various tabletop displays. Held the third Sunday of each month, I will faithfully mark my calendar for Indie Flea Market future trips and maybe add on a visit to Ulele, which is nearby.

So glad my boyfriend & I ventured over to Tampa for this place. An indoor market with some outside vendors too, loads of food, & a pretty great selection. Your typical plants, soaps, candles, and prints where there but this place also had lots of flowers to make your own bouquets, a couple booths selling furniture, several jewelry booths & a couple artist booths. Plus there was ice pops, ice cream sandwiches, vegan cookies, & other small bites to enjoy if you didn't want a full meal or wanted to try a little bit of everything. We were quite hungry, so we popped over to Zukku inside part of the building & had sushi burritos. You can customize them or do customizable poke bowls, or order classic rolls. They were great portion sizes & incredibly fresh & tasty! I also scooped out some prints on dictionary pages, a few plants potted in old drawers & metal pumpkins, & my boyfriend nearly bought a massive tarpon artwork piece until we realized it wouldn't fit in the car along with the furniture we had already picked up today. It's an interesting location too; on the water in an area that seems to still be being built up. Parking was $5 but today that got you a $5 voucher good at any vendor in there, so if you bought something you're parking went towards it which was a nice idea I haven't encountered before. It was very crowded when we went though, so if crowds aren't your thing then go later, closer to 2:30 I'd say, but you might miss out on some great treasures if you do; it happened to me at two vendors when I told myself I'd come back later - the pieces had already been snatched up by the time I got back.

Much too busy for my taste. Still, there were clearly lots of interesting shops behind all the people.

We were blown away at how mobbed the market was. Such a cool venue too! We were time challenged but definitely plan to return again!

Great FIRST visit today!…read more The line to get in... yes, the cars were lined up to get in the parking lot...moved quickly. I honestly didn't mind paying a buck for parking! LOTS of vendors...WIDE VARIETY to choose from...GOOD PRICES... FRIENDLY folks all around!! With Big Top Flea Market closing soon, HAPPY to see we still have a QUALITY FLEA MARKET to visit! Keep up the GOOD WORK!!!

Due to the timing, not all the booth spaces were occupied. We spent about a half hour walking around checking out the folks that were there. There weren't many folks shopping. The vendors are on grass and dirt. You have to be a bit careful walking around as there are many dips and holes in the ground. There was one produce vendor. We got some lovely huge radishes from them for only $1. Most of the other vendors were clothing, tools and accessories, jewelry and a couple household items. One vendor had a mix of antiques, junk, and collectibles. I did find a gal selling some miscellaneous items on a side table -- just to get rid of them at 50 cents apiece. From her, I bought a lovely sheesham wood box that had been spray painted silver. I'll use this for an art project. I also got a pretty silver and black bracelet. So, two bargains for just a $1. They're only open certain days. So double check before you make the trip. I imagine in season -- and not after a holiday -- that there are more vendors, and it would be more worthwhile. I'm still glad we got to go. Always like checking out the different markets and thrifts.

It's a large storefront that's adjacent to a connecting coffee shop with additional items. It can be overwhelming as there are MANY sections to view. Upon entry are their small vintage pieces and jewelry. There are at least three staff members ready to flag down if you want to look at an item inside one of the cases. The prices do range depending on the age of the item, as well as the commodity. More rare items will naturally be priced higher. I didn't allow myself to thoroughly browse as my friend and I were fatigued from the work week, but I did walk away with a small glass dachshund, gorgeous black chandelier earrings, and a faux diamond necklace. It will be a great statement piece for a night out. I was told that the shop is only open the first Saturday of every month, but I would double check on the accuracy of their hours of operation.

I like it! But! Now that i process the moderate time i spent there? It's massive n hooot! Like i do…read morerecommend u bring a drink n some bags or cart to carry your stuff. I got confused from the gps taking me to the Farmers market side. But both parkings connect. My map picture shows u which is which. Left is flea market n right is hidden behind business for the farmers market. Huge heads up!; although they open from 3AM to 6PM? 75% leaves before 11am! Its crazy how we just got there around 10:45ish? N immidietly they started packing! I seriously missed outa some good bargains. More on their loss, cuz we buy n help local shops hard! We found so much good things on the first building on the left if u look at our map near my car location. I cant judge the rest of the vendors but i plan on coming back since they open daily ish. Heres the bad: A lot of prepackaged food products under the sun without covering. Stay away from that. Melted vitamins n candies. No fda approval anywhere. So many vendors buy from good will or any drift stores, don't even remove the tags. For example. Guy bought poor looking cups at $1.98 n tried to up price it at $20. I ell him he bought for $1.98 and they weren't even polished just heavy damaged. No price negotiations i left it. (Important notes: i know the value of metals in the current economy, the value of items n got a phone on hand to do research on the spot to come into a fair price. I do not support gaugers) A lot of products on the mud! Holy crap! It's crazy how much clothes n toys on the. Mud! Place is hella huge! Some vendors in the mud, there is a paved road in main areas but like i said nit every vendor in pavement. Did i mentioned hot as hell? Bring umbrella and some snacks n drinks. Farmers side parking closes at 4pm, park on flea side. But i think u can just drive across. Since i like to end in good notes; Its huge!! Lol Can find anything Has bathrooms, some vendors offer food n drinks. BRING A SPANISH SPEAKING FRIEND!! (Im bi lingual mom knows like 4, kindness is your go to card no matter what) Mostly wheelchair friendly, i say that with the notion that the pavement ends at the entrance at most the vendors i saw. Just a fyi, bring a buddy. FREEE PARKING. And to end this, place isn't for fancy types. I grew up with these types of markets n i love adventure! So i blend in just fine. Next time im coming full camo n no cute dresses or shoes lol and a cane! My legs kept getting really tired counter balancing the uneven floor. Its a 4/5 for me but ill update after i come back n hit it full with proper gear and backup plan.

This farmer market located at SR39 and Sam Allen. There is a whole sale section and retail section…read more The retail section is the flea market. The flea market is only open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday only. If you have a group of friend like to shop, I would said gather their request and share the wholesaler prices. Definitely worthwhile. The wholesale section is at the east side. The entrance is different. You can drive your car there and load your groceries in the trunk. The flea market has distribution retail price. Their price also cheaper than the supermarket. This flea market has food truck and more. We enjoy the fruit cup, tamales and grilled mojo chicken when we were there. Parking is available.
