I learned that Martin had released a new mahogany guitar (the D-17) and I really wanted to play one…read moreto see if I might want to trade one of my Martins to buy one, or perhaps even buy one outright. I found out there was one in the area, located at Reno's Music. I had never heard of this establishment before but I saw on their website that they have a lot of Martin guitars in their inventory. So when my husband and I were in the general neighborhood, we decided to stop in and have a look. This turned out to be a really bad idea. I have been playing guitar for 55 years and my husband also for nearly as long. My father was an Indianapolis jazz guitarist who will be inducted into the Indianapolis Jazz Hall Of Fame in 2026. I have been visiting guitar stores since I was a little girl, and never have I been treated so rudely EVER. There was one guy working there, and zero customers. Most guitar shops are lively, upbeat places filled with music but this was basically an office with a storeroom of what looked to be a zillion boxed-up guitars. I asked this person if he had a D-17 because I was interested in playing one. He launched into this gatekeeper routine that would have made my father laugh with scorn and then turn around and head straight out the door. This guy said, "First we're going to have a little conversation". What??? I thought this was a business and I just wanted to see a guitar! He wanted to know our names. I thought wtf? Our names won't mean anything to you? But I gave them, first and last, and then he replied that his name was Mark. Okay fine, whatever. Do you play? he wanted to know. Okay, why would I even be in a place like that if I didn't play? I was playing before this guy was even thought of! Well, after I replied yes, we both do, he condescended to let me try the guitar. It was a very nice guitar but I had already made up my mind that I would not be buying a $1 kazoo off this guy. I played one more guitar there and we left. Needless to say, I will take my money and my business elsewhere. I am still in the market for a high-end Martin but thankfully there are many other guitar stores in the Indianapolis area that are far more welcoming and treat their customers like they want their business - NOT like they are doing them some kind of a favor just letting them in the door. I've seen other reviews left by people who had much the same experience with Reno's Music, so it wasn't just us, it's how this place is, unfortunately.

Drove all the way out to the Fishers location from where we live in Carmel and picked up the instrument. Brought the instrument home only to find out that it was completely not functional. Buttons were not working valves were frozen. Called the office and they admitted that the instrument had not been maintenances since mid last year. Prior to pick up I had specifically asked if the instrument was ready and had been maintenance since it was a gently used instrument. It's extremely disappointing to have an initial experience with this company that was recommended to us by our band director and have this be such a huge inconvenience.

I had always told her if she stuck with it that one day we would buy her the grand piano she had always wanted. She had forgotten all about it, but we never did. I called the store and talked to a consultant by the name of Allen. A 50-minute conversation followed, and he took the time to answer all questions that I had about pianos, their store, and other things. We called our daughter and ask if she had any plans for the coming Saturday that we had a surprise for her. We went to the store and met Allen, and they discussed what she was looking for in a piano. We spent about 5 hours looking at what they had new and used in the store. Allen took the time to answer any questions told use the key points of each piano we looked at compared to the other ones we had played and looked at. He showed us the repair department so we could get an in-depth knowledge of why one brand cost more than the other due to its construction etc. We never ever felt pressured into making a choice that day. He said this is an important decision, and you want to feel you have made the right choice. We scheduled another visit the following week and spent about another 5 hours playing and looking at what they had in the showroom. She finally made a decision, and I would say that phone time and site visit we spent close to 16 to 20 hours of his time. Never once was he pushy or in any way not helpful. He offered so many suggestions along the way and made it such a pleasure to work with a true professional something that is lacking in many businesses today. After the sale he called and made sure that we had the delivery set up on our schedule and to check to see if there was anything else that he could do for us. I felt so guilty about taking up so much of his time, but he said he wanted us to feel comfortable with our decision and that was his pleasure to help out. Michael R

I thought, what's the harm. It's Tuesday. I'm off work. I'll try your lasagna sure. The lasagna was so cold. "Who made this cold lasagna?" I wanted to ask. But no one came back to check. I brought the lasagna home. I warmed it up myself. Not that bad, which is why I give it two stars. If it had been warm the first go I might give it three or maybe four. Five star lasagna isn't something you come across everyday. So don't be upset that I wouldn't consider it. The service was also not good. No menu. No silverware. Just one man who is offering lasagna. On the plus side, this place had a lot of parking and was warm enough inside. Unlike the lagasma. I will keep looking for a Tuesday lunch spot. Update: management has informed me this is not an Italy restaurant. They do not know lasanga man. I will give it 5 stars.
