One of our daughters had always wanted a grand piano. She had a Yamaha Clavinovo that we had purchased many years ago. I had always told her if she stuck with it that one day we would buy her the grand piano she had always wanted. She had forgotten all about it, but we never did. I called the store and talked to a consultant by the name of Allen. A 50-minute conversation followed, and he took the time to answer all questions that I had about pianos, their store, and other things. We called our daughter and ask if she had any plans for the coming Saturday that we had a surprise for her. We went to the store and met Allen, and they discussed what she was looking for in a piano. We spent about 5 hours looking at what they had new and used in the store. Allen took the time to answer any questions told use the key points of each piano we looked at compared to the other ones we had played and looked at. He showed us the repair department so we could get an in-depth knowledge of why one brand cost more than the other due to its construction etc. We never ever felt pressured into making a choice that day. He said this is an important decision, and you want to feel you have made the right choice. We scheduled another visit the following week and spent about another 5 hours playing and looking at what they had in the showroom. She finally made a decision, and I would say that phone time and site visit we spent close to 16 to 20 hours of his time. Never once was he pushy or in any way not helpful. He offered so many suggestions along the way and made it such a pleasure to work with a true professional something that is lacking in many businesses today. After the sale he called and made sure that we had the delivery set up on our schedule and to check to see if there was anything else that he could do for us. I've used Piano Solutions twice to move an upright piano. Both times I was very happy! They were easy to schedule (both via phone and email) and gave prompt replies and quotes. The movers themselves were friendly and professional. They showed up on time, checked out the path the piano would have to move, set up ramps and positioned the truck lift outside. We live on a small one way city street so I appreciated that the movers found a place off the street so traffic could still flow freely. No complaints at all. Although I haven't purchased any pianos or instruments here, I have been to their showroom and have attended two concerts in the performance hall. Such was the case for my most recent visit. After browsing through their rows of grands and uprights, I entered the large room to listen to the performances of a pair of pianists that were brought in by the business to entertain. The pair alternated in short sets and really displayed the range of sounds and emotions that an artist can extract from the equipment. It really makes a difference when someone that talented plays an instrument that you might be considering. I did notice that for the performance, nobody from the business made a point of introducing the artists. They had to introduce themselves which seem like an oversight. If they are going to continue providing concerts, surely someone could be available to do the introductions. If you are interested in purchasing a piano or guitar, there is a large selection here and the arrangement of them seems conducive to "test driving" them before you purchase. I was absolutely amazed that this place even existed. An entire store of phenomenal pianos?! We were encouraged to explore and play the pianos - and someone that worked there was quick to wipe down all pianos afterward to keep everything clean. I was impressed. They also had a system in place where if you purchased a piano from them, you could then trade it in down the road. I was searching for a specific piano book - even had the ISBN. The gentleman with whom I spoke over the phone told me - no they do not have the book, but they have others like it. He started naming them. Well these other choices were books in stock that he needed to sell. The format of the 'other' books wasn't even close to what I needed. Told him I wasn't interested in them. He became condescending and arrogant - giving me his opinion about what I was looking for vs what he had in stock. Additionally, I needed to hire a piano teacher to teach the material in either book. Uhhh, excuse me, but this was a gift for someone! If I wanted his opinion, I would have asked for it. This guy waited on me at the store one other time. I did a ton of research and was nervous buying a piano I hadn't played before, but all the people I spoke to at this location were super friendly, helpful and not pushy at all. They were very knowledgeable about the specifications of different pianos which was really helpful. They were very professional in their communication. When I finally received the piano, there was a huge dent even though the packaging was fine outside. I told them and they took care of everything right away and sent a replacement. We needed our baby grand polished since the top coat was damaged with unremovable smudge marks, after dad tried to eliminate cat paw marks with windex, the damage was irreversible. We bought a used player piano that had worked perfectly when we bought it but on delivery had some malfunctions. He definitely turned a less than favorable matter into a wonderful buying experience.
