Extremely poor workmanship, little communication, and now sent to collections. I hired Indiana Pool & Spa (Bloomington, IN) in 2024 to install a new pool liner, replace the skimmer and return, and treat rust under the skimmer. I paid the full cost up front (around $3,000) with an understanding that I might later pay for water. What I got was a nightmare that has lasted years and a low-quality liner that wasn't what we contractually agreed to. The first liner installation was sloppy, uneven, and started collapsing almost immediately. The company promised to come back in late 2024 to fix the slipping liner and close down my pool for winter, that never happened. Calls and emails went ignored for months, I would go into the building to try and have some communication just to have Brad Chitty shut the office door. By winter, the liner and pool walls had completely collapsed. In August 2025 (after nearly a year of waiting), they finally came back without notice and installed a cheaper overlap liner, not the premium HD Multibead Summerhill liner we agreed on. The new liner looks bad, leaks, and parts of my pool are missing. My skimmer was broken during their work, they left the broken part on the ledge and never said a work or fixed it. Despite all this, the company recently sent me to collections for disputed charges. I have recorded calls, photos, and a long email chain showing their continued lack of communication and accountability. Every opportunity was given for them to fix the problem and they simply wouldn't or would wait weeks and complain about debris at that point when they are the reason I had no circulation and they never once in the dozens of times of coming out gave me prior notice more than an hour or so, but expected me to have the pool ready when they did without any equipment. I would strongly discourage anyone from using this company for installation or service work. They are unprofessional, unresponsive, and do not stand behind their promises. read more

Friendly to talk with. But came out to look at my hot tub for 5 mins and shined a light under the hot tub. Estimate was outrageous. Then charged me $209 for a trip charge. Called and asked for a call back to discuss charge that was not discussed. Nothing. Then sent to collections while I waited for call back. I did finally pay bill. But not the way I do business. This year (2025) when we opened the pool, my grandson couldn't get the pump started and due to the weather, a lot of debris got in the pool, causing a bad phosphate problem. My sons and I were gone for a week and when we returned the pool was in a mess. My grandson finally had the pump started. When we cleaned the pool and used the proper chemicals, it was a dark green. After taking water samples to Indiana Pools almost every day and nothing was clearing the water, Brad, Brian, and both Dave's worked with us and kept trying different products, until the pool was finally cleared. It is now a beautiful blue and everything is stable. We could not have done this if everyone at Indiana Pools and Spas of Bloomington, IN had not worked so diligently with us. I have never experienced such incompetence, poor customer service, and downright creepiness with a business owner. The owner/repairman BROKE our tub and then charged us for the visit and the second visit to repair his damage. We generously paid for one service call but notified him that we would not be paying for a second service call to repair the damage he caused. He persisted in trying to collect a mere $325 to the point of stalking, sending threatening "messages" (such as highlighted copies of our home tax records) and attempted to damage our credit rating (which he could not since we have impeccable credit). First time in my life I had to pay for something I didn't get. One of my bottom pool drains was clogged so Brad, the owner of Indiana Pools and Spas, came over with scuba gear. Before he went in I told him he needed to get some flexible tubing but he went in anyway with just his scuba gear. I couldn't figure out what he hoped to accomplish without any tools. After he told me to live with the clogged drain and left, I went into the pool without scuba gear, unscrewed the drain covers, and used a flexible tube my buddy loaned me to unclog the drain. Took about 15 minutes. Brad invoiced me $360 for "unclogging" my drain. As a sign of good faith I paid all but $150 and in the letter, I asked him to call me. He never did. I stopped by the store some time later but he was out, so I left a message for Brad to call me. He never did. Later, a woman from the store called me with a quote for a new pool cover (which I definitely won't buy now from Indiana Pools and Spas), and I asked to speak with Brad but he was out so I left a message for him to call me. He never did. After receiving repeated invoices for the remaining $150 and calls from a collection agency, I paid the invoice. It was worth it just to have nothing more to do with the company. I wish I had read the Yelp reviews first. This company is woefully inept. I don't want to even give it one star. read more

This company has no idea what they are doing. They lost our original quote, never answer their phone and tried to charge us for work they didn't do Malcolm and his team were great for our pool install but the administration is a shitshow. My wife tried to pay off our balance and they told us the wrong amount then charged us late fees for a cover we don't have. Someone driving a van with their logo on the side SPED down a residential street near Bryan park heading west around 2:30pm today, almost hitting a small child riding their bike. The noise of their acceleration was so loud that we heard it from inside our garage and looked out to see what was going on. Shame on the driver, they may kill someone driving like that. Paid for pool opening. Two young men arrived and informed me they would not be able to open pool until I pumped all water off the top of the tarp covering the pool. I was informed I needed to goto Indiana Pools and Spas to purchase a $200 pump to have the water removed from the tarp. Which I did. I never heard back from them so I opened the pool myself. I had no other appointments or services scheduled with Indiana Pools and Spas. I arrived home one day to find out that the tarp I had laid out in my yard to dry in the sun had been folded up and put next to my shed. (I had left the tarp out to dry in the sun did not wish for it to be folded) I then received a bill for an additional $210. Plus a bill for their initial trip despite them not being able to complete any of the tasks. I paid the initial invoice as I had requested their services that time. However I attempted to contact Indiana Pools concerning the second invoice for services never requested or rendered. After several months and many attempts to reach anyone in accounts payable I received a letter from collections. I swallowed my pride and paid the invoices sent to me. However, I never received any services. I ended up paying $600 for 2 guys to fold a tarp up that I did not wish to be folded at the time. I have never left a review on any company until now. This is absolutely ridiculous. I would NOT recommend Indiana Pools and Spas to my biggest enemies let alone my family and friends. read more

Had to have a new pool liner put in this year. It took longer than expected for the liner to be shipped to them, but I do not believe that is their fault. They showed up on time and had the liner put in very quickly. The employees were great and their customer service was even better. The liner looks amazing! read more

If you are considering dealing with this business, you can count on absolutely no customer service and ending up with a defective product they will not stand behind. If we could give this company any rating, it would be a negative 10. The owner is a liar and blames his poor service on the product (Marquis Spas), his employees and the customer! We regrettably did not heed other warnings in the poor reviews about this dealer when we purchased a hot tub from him. Brad, the owner, said he would stand behind the tub 100% if we were not satisfied. During the first month and a half after the tub was installed, it did not operate. We were able to use it a few days and the controller started forming water bubbles under the electronic screen, which caused it to malfunction. Brad finally replaced the controller after many calls and visits to his store, with his employees stating they didn't know there was a problem or the manufacturer was delayed in sending the replacement part. He complained it was costing him money with every replacement. Finally, after the controller was replaced the tub operated for a few weeks then quit. After waiting months for "new & improved" replacement controllers and ZERO communication from Brad unless we initiated it by going to the store in person, we told him we wanted the defective tub removed and our purchase price refunded. Brad agreed if we would allow the 4th generation of controllers to be installed that was 100% guaranteed to operate. We mistakenly agreed. This replacement not only leaked water into the electronics, it caused the breaker to trip and would not turn on again. After this, we told Brad we had no faith in the Marquis hot tub and in fact, felt it was a dangerous situation in that anyone using the tub could have been shocked. Brad's reply: "There is no way someone could be shocked and if they were, it would be a small shock like from a hairdryer if you dropped it in water....not a big deal". Really?? At this point, we requested the tub be returned / removed and to be reimbursed for the full purchase price. We were not able to use it 90% of the time we wanted, we had waited through 4 "new" controller replacements that failed and as a result, had no faith in the product. Brad became argumentative, blaming us, the customers, for not being patient, for "making too many phone calls and visits" to his business. He lied and said he had to follow "Marquis policy" of charging a 25% "restock" fee if he was to take the tub back. Marquis verified with us they have no restock fee for customers, they did not want the tub returned to them, and the 'restock fee' was made up by Brad. Brad's workers arrived with a "refund" check with a 30% "restock" fee deducted due to the tub being "used"! Be warned, unless you want months of stress, be out significant money and regret not reviewing past customer reviews, DO NOT BUY any major product from this dealer! read more

A Indiana Pools and Spas van with a big number 6 on the back passed our car on a corner with double lines on highway 46 headed Nashville's way 8/15/21 at around 10pm. That van was then stuck between my car and 2 others. That van then decided to pass those 2 cars on what is called Steven's creek hill, which is also a double yellow lined area. There was oncoming traffic so he cut the front driver off and sped away quickly. The front driver was a truck hauling a large car on a trailer. I watched that trucks trailer with the car on top start wobbling when he got cut off, swaying back and forth erratically before the driver finally gained control of it. The Indiana Pool and Spa can with the big number 6 on the back was long gone speeding down the road way over the speed limit. The cops were called on that van for wreckless driving. I hope that no one was hamed from that driver later down the road. read more

First of all, I wouldn't even give this awful company a star. Using Indiana pools and Spas was by far the WORST experience I've ever had in my life. Let me start by saying that they started building the pool under a power line and when we called and asked Brian (the manager) about it he told us it was our responsibility to ensure the build site was up to code even though they are the contractors and came and inspected the site BEFORE the pool was built!! After questioning them about the safety and legal aspects of building the pool under a power line, we were told that they will not build our pool and they will be keeping our deposit of $5,000. When we asked to speak to the owner of the company on multiple occasions, Brian would call us, and one time pretended to be the owner. We've attempted to speak to Brian on multiple occasions since the pool was built, every single time he has one of the poor office girls call us back and is "out of the office." The pool was finally built, but was built 30 days AFTER they agreed upon when signing the contract. We still do not have all of our pool equipment that was promised in the contract upon purchasing the pool. Now, with all of that being said. We purchased their "top of the line pool." It is flimsy and junk. I cannot stress enough to NOT USE this AWFUL COMPANY! Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else! read more
