However, they did send two gentlemen to my house to look at it. It was determined I would need new slide rails. The gentleman were knowledgeable and friendly. They manually got the slide in and helped put tiedowns all the way around my camper. I connected my camper, drove it to Stearns. Within four days I had my camper back and was ready to go on my next trip. I would highly recommend everyone there. I felt the price was very reasonable. I was very nervous about what it would cost.

It is plain to see that they didn't cut the awning correctly. Articles found on the web say if RV awning is not installed straight it can also burn out the motor. They told me 3 techs worked on it for 5 hours. They also repeated overheated the motor with their incorrect install and 5 hours of running the awning in and out. At one point they called and said the motor was bad, but an hour later it was good again. It was over heating and opening the motor protection thermistor and removing power till the motor cooled. The awning only needed to be replaced and now I have a major repair job. YOU DON'T WANT TO GO ANYWHERE NEAR THIS BUSINESS

We left that day and returned with a deposit to hold the camper and start the buying process a few days later. Unfortunately, we were not able to close the deal. When I asked about our deposit being returned, I was told 7-10 business days. Ok, no big deal. One week, two weeks...a month goes by and nothing. I called to speak to someone and was directed to Zack. I spoke to Zack and was told that the request had been sent to corporate, but being that it was Saturday, he would have to wait until Monday to call and see what information he could find out for me and that he would return my call that following Monday. Again, no big deal. I received no call. Another 3 weeks go by....nothing. I called again on 7/1/26 to speak to Zack, he wasn't in. I was directed to Dan and once again explained the situation. I was told that since Zack wasn't in, he would have to wait to speak to Zack when he got in later that day, and that either he or Zack would get back to me that afternoon. Again, no one called, emailed, or left me a voicemail. Being that it has been two months now with no communication from Forest River as to where our deposit is, I felt that I had to leave a review to warn other potential customers. I have been nothing but incredibly patient throughout this whole process. I have called twice in two months. Unfortunately, Forest River lacks in their communication skills and customer service. I guess since our deal didn't go through, we are not as important as any other customer and don't deserve the same respect. Beware of leaving deposits....you may have to fight tooth and nail to get your REFUNDABLE deposit back, IF you ever get it back.

Called more than a dozen RV dealers and repair centers and all could take me in for repair or the time to first available date was at least three months before or more before I could get a service date. No surprise it's spring and the RVer has been waiting all winter to get out there. We are full timers so a timely repair was Essential. Stoltzfus could give give a date six weeks out from when I called. I took it based on reviews from several sources. I arrived on the agreed date and time at Stoltzfus RV went to the receptionist. She effectively pulled up our appointment and handed us off the service advisor. We went over the problem, explained in detail my findings. The service advisor explained the up from Costs, their is a $150 trouble shooting fee that is then applied to the bill when the work is complete. I was told the repair would take one to two weeks. The RV went into the shop on Thursday. Friday afternoon I got a call with the trouble shooting and costs. All of that was clear and the advisor made it easy to understand and answered all my questions. The following Thursday I received a call from stoltzfus that the RV was ready to go so I arranged a pickup the next day. I have run the refrigerator through its operations the past week or so to be sure that it would perform perfectly before heading out on our summer run. Every one at Stoltzfus was courteous, respectful, and helpful. Even the guys working the yard would check if I had ever I needed. Ok bottom line on service 5 star.

As I was waiting for it to be done my rep and the mechanic come out and tell me I need brakes and if I wanted them to do it. I had hardly used the RV and the mechanic said that sometimes on GMC'S the brake controller is not right. Well I told them I would take it to my mechanic to have the brakes done. After I dropped the RV off at my mechanic ,they told me to come get it that I didn't need brakes . It was 3 or more years later that I needed brakes. Another incident : I had to have a new roof put on RV (over $10,000). About a year after it was done I went in for my forever warranty inspection and was told the roof needed new seals ($1200).How is this possible they just did the new roof less than a year ago. So, I had them redo seals on roof. Now less then a year later I am getting ready for a trip and my bed is wet. I go up on the roof and the seal on fan over my bed is severly cracked. Call General RV and let them know ( they only warranty seals for 3months). There answer was it was a rough year weather wise for seals. How about that for bullshit!!Every year must be a rough year for seal . It's either that or forbid I say maybe they don't know what they are doing at their work establishment. Needless to say I am going to let my forever warranty expire just so I don't have to deal with such incompetence and thievery. It a shame that we RVer's have to deal with companies like this. These people were not only fair, reliable and speedy. They worked with me and didn't charge me storage for the couple extra days it sat here. I would recommend these people ten times over. I said Ok i guess that's fine, nothing needed done, I'll be there Wednesday morning to pick up my perfect RV! Not even close. When I got there and was getting a walk through, they started rattling off things that needed fixing. I said immediately don't you think you should've called me for that? So now if I want to fix it, I'll have to go through the inconvenience of bringing it back another time? You could've made a sale on that part and labor if you would have just called. I guess you don't want that? Then I started going through their checklist of things that ARE operable, and I noticed things that I knew for a fact were broken before I came in so I checked them and they are in fact STILL BROKEN! So, I asked why is this checked off as fine if it clearly is not? They got a ladder out to try to fix my awning on the spot, among other things that were checked off. I myself had to climb the ladder to HELP fix things that were supposed to be included in that package deal I was paying for, and they had over a full week to fix but didn't. I noticed more than one of those incorrect checks and lost all confidence that any work was done at all to any of my RV. I will say that the manager was nice enough to not charge me for anything at all, considering I didn't know if anything at all was done in the first place.
