An update to my first posting. Holiday weekend and close of summer. Got that. Lots of family activities which are nice. We are quite taken back on how camping has changed over the years. MUCH more crowded MUCH closer to neighbors MUCH more expensive MUCH to many large trees with canopies that shade the sites AND provide ample amounts of tree sap on everything. WAY to many people making way to much noise without regard for neighbors. WAY to many people on a site. Rarely did anyone express a "hello" or any common civility. The Campsite has way to many Campers WAY TO CLOSE TO EACH OTHER. SERIOUSLY YARDS AWAY. Granted this was a Halloween Kids Weekend with decorations and costumes and activities. However we will not come back. We are Seniors and Thank gosh first 2 nights we had Quiet Peace. Come Friday we were ready to leave. Why on earth would a Campground have so many big rigs amongst the Popups, Tents practically on top of each other. The roads are not wide, curves everywhere. The trees need trimming big time. Into the night Campers driving in, lots of noise, car doors. If you want Peace and Quiet and Serene atmosphere "DON'T COME TO INDIAN SHORES" An Airstrip so close the planes are coming and going into the dark. Very Expensive and No Dump station. Lots of Improvements needed!!! Over 250 sites. DONE. DONE. DONE read more

We didn't have a bad experience, the restaurant is good and the boat rentals are good too. Good views, big campground, and good sites. However, the staff wasn't the friendliest but weren't the worst. I wouldn't recommend staying for more than 5 days but is a good 1-4 night/day stay here. read more

We have been extremely happy with the friendly service at this campground, they go out of there way to make sure your stay and needs are met. They have wonderful amenities from a in ground pool, basketball court, boat rentals and playground for kids. I highly recommend this facility and the restaurant that is on the property as well. Indian Shores - 1996 Prevost - Campgrounds Near Me - Woodruff, Wisconsin

This campground is wonderful. Just driving in from the main road reduced my blood pressure. I loved that even though there were many sites available, it didn't look like it - winding tree-covered trails to screen the campsites. It's built on the site of an old boys camp (Camp Strongheart). Lots of preserved history - make sure to view the memorabilia at The Lodge when you check in. We came here for a family get-together this fall and our cabin on Tomahawk Lake was clean and comfy (and the shower water pressure was the best). The staff was very accommodating and fast to reply. You won't find a better place to stay in the North Woods (and we've been to a few places over the years). I was grateful for the on-site general store so we didn't have to go into town for firewood etc. And visiting the bar/restaurant next door was a welcome respite after a day of biking the nearby trails. The fish was great. We didn't stay at a campsite, but talked with RVers who loved the fact that they weren't crammed together and everyone was so friendly. We rented a pontoon boat and were able to spend a day cruising the many connected local lakes to Minocqua, where we had a choice of great local restaurants to dock at for a bite to eat. My husband, who is a mechanic, appreciated that the boat was well taken care of. There were also other types of watercraft available to rent. Overall, Indian Shores made for a great North Woods getaway and we are looking forward to coming back next year. read more

First let's just say that I and my family will not be back.... My trip started when I had to arrive late and then sit at the front gate for 15+ minutes because they guy did not know who was staying there and who wasent. I understand why he was there but this was my first stop and having to wait after informing him that my family is already at the sites and cabins (Total of 5 sites all together). The son of the owner is the main reason for our vacation to be crappy. He is rude, obnoxious, creepy and thinks he is entitled. He continually kept harassing my family who was trying to enjoy a camp fire. First by just commingled on to the camp site and saying "Shut it down" in a rude tone. Would hide behind the camper and spy on us. Telling us it's quite time even when no noise or complaints from around us. My family paid good money to be there and enjoy ourself not to be harassed the whole time. Come to find out he did the same thing of spying and yelling at another site bear us. My family and the other site guests went to lodge a complaint and he was in the office hiding because we were there. Letting the phone ring because he didn't want to assist us. When he finally came out asked what he could do with us and was informed that everyone wanted to lodge a complaint against him and he was rude about that. And pretty much said to deal with his parents if we don't like him. Hopefully the owners take this experience and the experience of the other guests at the campground to heart. The location is nice but the service this one person is giving will make people not come back. read more

We enjoyed our four day stay. It's a large campground but with paved roads it was a breeze to walk, bike or skateboard around. There were some very friendly ducks that almost climbed onto our laps!! We also rented the jet ski and that was a blast!! The pool was warm though we didn't use it. We spent much of our time seeing the sights!! I highly recommend it for the beautiful lake, location and activities offered. read more

First off let me preface this review with a couple of things... 1) campground was very clean and beautiful, 2) I NEVER leave reviews that could hurt a business because maybe it was just a one time thing BUT man oh man, this place just doesn't deserve a good review for what they said and did to us. I have NEVER been talked to and treated with as much disrespect as I was this weekend camping at Indian Shores. I wish I could say it was just a bad employee but unfortunately this was directly from the owners of the facility which makes all of this even worse! We booked 3 sites for a Friday- Sunday at the beginning of April immediately after reservations were being accepted to ensure that we get good spots by the beach and playground! Reservation confirmations were received - all is good at this point. In June the weekend of camping arrives and we call on Thursday evening to see if our site is available for us to check in a night early. (Mind you, I told them we had reservations on sites 10, 11 & 12 for Friday thru Sunday while on the phone with them). They said 11 & 12 are open tonight (Thursday) but 10 is occupied for the night. No problem yet as we were planning to take 11 and the other 2 groups wouldn't be arriving to take 10 & 12 until the next evening anyways. We arrive Thursday evening, again tell them we are with the group for 10-12 and get all settled into our site on 11. There are people on 10 as they stated over the phone. At this point all is well. Friday morning the people on 10 weren't moving too fast to pack up so we decided to be friendly neighbors and go talk to them as our other group was in route. Come to find out ... they weren't leaving till Monday. I said "oh well it looks like they overbooked". We chatted a little more, had some laughs and then decided to go talk to them about the situation at hand. From here is where our stay was one that will NEVER be forgotten and I would NEVER recommend a person to stay here again! We confronted the owners of the situation and as other reviews have all said we were basically kicked off our site because the people that were on site 10 booked for a longer stay than us. Now at this point 2 sites are together and the "best" option they could do to fix the situation for the 3 site we booked was put them in a site 50 yards away. I don't understand how they can just kick you off a site you reserved with no notice at all ahead of time!!! Not even the night before when we checked in!! This wouldn't have been the worst but how they handled it was what ruined me from ever going here again. Upon confronting them I was told "if you don't like it then pack your shit and leave!!!" UNBELIEVEABLE!!! Then they proceeded to say "and what kind of person goes around talking to their neighbors like that and asking how long they are staying"! Again UNBELIEVABLE!!! I said how dare you tell me that I can't have a friendly conversation with my neighbors here. It just so happened the neighbors were in the office at the time and stepped out to back me up and say how rude the owners were to us! After this things spiraled and we were lied too as well. There were 6 sites open across from us and were told we couldn't have those because others were coming and have a week reservation. BS - we also talked to them and they were staying the same amount of time as us. The owners then turned it on us because we apparently told them we had an RV (which we didn't) when we reserved and they never would have given us our site in the first place if they had know we only had a trailer as all of those sites were RV. Also BS and all but 2 surrounding us were travel trailers as well ... not RVs! A simple phone call ahead of time would have made this situation a lot better, a simple apology (which we never received until after WE apologized of which I am not even sure why I did as we did nothing wrong) also would have made this situation better), and someone friendly to try and fix the problem instead of telling us to pack our shit and leave if we don't like it would have been better! As business owners ourselves I am seriously disgusted with the customer service at this place and will definitely not be going back. We camp all kinds of places and this will NOT be on our list ever again!! Hopefully this doesn't happen to you if you stay here! read more

Big, beautiful Campground with mature trees. Our family has been here a few times and really enjoy it. They have a decent store which we needed to go to and they had both a hairbrush that I needed and eggs so no complaints there. They had bingo and other activities. The pool was clean and heated. We would probably come here more often if it wasn't so far to drive. Our only wish is that they allowed electric golf carts. The campground is big and if you're old or just plain lazy like us it's nice to be able to bring your golf cart but alas they don't allow them. Long story short I recommend this place. read more

I have a totally different outlook than the last review. First of all, security should be on all of our minds and having someone at the front area making sure that legit people are coming in late at night should be a sign of how much this resort cares about us and wants to make sure we are safe. One might ask if the initial reviewer actually was a registered person at the resort -I've never had issues when I entered the campground but they knew I was coming and when. Many of us have come to this campground for years-a key reason is that it's quiet after dark and we can enjoy what nature is bringing to us. I truly would prefer to have the security at the campground remind all of us that we need to be respectful of this wonderful place and the silence that brings us to enjoying nature vs the city. I've been part of the campground/resort almost since it first began-if you want to truly enjoy nature and listen to what is going on in the woods, this is the place for you. If you want to party and be loud-then you may want to look at other places. read more

I was really surprised to see the comment from several months ago with customer with sames issues! Wish I had known sooner.....this was the worst rv camping "resort" we have ever been to and most exspensive. All buildings in general are out date and mostly dilapidated. The bath houses are the worst and most negated structurally. There are holes in the wall from coin operated water rations. There is alot of craziness around the the campsites to include an employee or family employee that sneaks around and pops up innibriated at your site unwelcome and wants to "hangout" That is when your lucky enough to see him and he isn't plundering the woods between campsites.(peeping tom????) Aside from walking in accidentally on a drug deal in the ladies bath house, your sure to see him rousing thru the woods and campsites "checking up" on people. On our wonderful vacation let's not forget to mention that guys dad (OWNER) that likes to chase people around on his golf cart yelling if you drive over 2 MPH or happen to have kids that speak over a wisper. This place is a disaster at best creepy after 6 pm. Office personal are total airheads as well. Don't even think about this place. read more

We as well will never be back to this campgrounds ever again. We booked our stay a couple of months in advance. Rented the beach house and paid a pretty penny for it also. We arrived in the afternoon 2 families with a total of 8 kids 4 adults. We had a nice relaxing afternoon and evening until 8:30 pm when and old man and lady(the owners they informed us) came driving up in a truck and started yelling at us, telling us we couldn't have our portable fire pit going there. It was going all afternoon and evening and no one including a man that bought me pillows and blankets earlier told us we couldn't have it. No warning or ask nicely Instead he just came up yelling, we were so stunned we all just stared at him, so apparently that pissed him off more so he told his wife to give us a refund we were out of there. I said WHAT??? He said you are out of here!! They left and came back with a refund and told us we had 30 minutes to leave. We had to pack up everything and leave this place a 10:00 pm with 8 kids and no place to go. This old man and woman need to retire!!!!!! read more
