We pretty much were the only ones in our wing of the lodge and it was great. Great showers, great roomy room, and view of what would be a lake, but it was iced over. The room was nice and cozy warm too. It would have been nice to have a channel to know what we were watching but we were gone a lot. Room service was great too! Everyone there was super friendly and helpful. One thing, feedback wise, is maybe to put a door before the hallway where the rooms are. The voices echo in the lobby and we could hear them all the way down the hallway. A little thing, but we noticed it. We would definitely stay here again, it was delightful and a great find!!

We were again greeted by the owner at check-in, and she could not have been more genuinely friendly. Our room was very clean, and the price was great. If you're in the area, shop local and don't stay in one of the chain hotels. Places like this deserve business.

We booked the trip on Sunday and had to cancel on Tuesday. We were out the $90. It would've cost for the one night stay as their policy is no cancellation refunds. If they advertise this on their website, it is in the fine print however, it should be policy that if your trip is canceled due to circumstances beyond your control, you should be refunded. This is equivalent to stealing.

This place has been here for a long time, and it has that feel, though cabin furnishings are updates and tidy. Families come back year after year for the ambiance. The kitchens are pretty fully equipped, and the units even have cable TV (if you care). The owners live on-site and are very friendly and helpful, but stay out of your way if you want. Sitting in the lawnchairs and watching the lake is incredibly relaxing anytime of the day.

This place is a gem. We stayed in the Rustic River cabin and LOVED it. It had two bedrooms, two…read morebathrooms, a pull-out couch, a full kitchen, a fireplace, HD tv with satellite dish, very nice porch, A/C, and extreme proximity to a little pond and river (with fish for the catching, my husband and kids caugh-and-released a BUNCH). It was all decorated in the Northwoods rustic style, the kitchen had dishes/cups/silverware/spices/coffee filters, a regular microwave, full size fridge/freezer, and regular drip coffeemaker (not some ridiculous hotel coffee maker, I hate those things). We were very lucky to get this place for a night in between reservations and were sorry we couldn't stay longer. It's just a few miles outside of town, where you can (and we did) get groceries and some terrific fish fry easily. The owners are just across the driveway and were very friendly. They have a couple of dogs - the collie came over and visited us a few times (this was 100% okay with us, my middle son *loved* having a doggy friend for a day). Oh, there's a firepit and picnic table outside, too. This place was amazing. Just a little more than a hotel room, but with space to move and the sound of a babbling brook just outside the front door.
