    Chicken curry

We went there with pretty high hopes. The restaurant itself is clean and quiet place. The service was okay, slightly slow. We ordered the snack platter in which only the fish was good, everything else was average. The malai kofta definitely did not contain kofta. Seemed like they just deep fried dahi bhalla's bhalla and added to a very mediocre curry. Extremely disappointed with that. The chicken curry was pretty good and a saving grace. And not sure why but the rice was 6 bucks which is pretty expensive compared to the rest of menu.

Located in Whistler Village upstairs you will find them. Not too busy Service was fine. There's a couple large parties. We sat in a booth. I got the eggplant vegan dish spicy, and it was very good. Exactly what I wanted. Got a side of tandoori because that's the only 'bread' that is considered vegan. It's not totally clear on the menu, but they actually have a lot of vegan friendly dishes! We tried one of their vegan meat dishes to share, and it was really good. Highly recommend!

** Vegetarian Food Review ** Veg Biryani - good, spice level was perfect! Veg chili momo - this was very spicy for medium spice level. Also the outer shell of momo quite chewy and thick. Mango mojito- great! Overall- food was decent, ambiance- good, service-good.

Came here because my friend liked it last time they visited Whistler. I don't usually eat Indian food but I thought this place was good. We ordered medium spicy, I thought it was quite spicy for medium. Still tolerable for me but a little more than I prefer. I'd say it was a 7/10 maybe I'd prefer 6? Still very good. We ordered chicken biriani, chicken masala, eggplant bhartha, palak chicken, and lamb vindaloo. I think one of them was more spicy than the rest. Everything was very tender and very flavorful. The dishes are rather small and do not come with rice or naan so you'll have to order them separately. If you have a group of 4-6 I'd consider ordering a biriani dish because it's a flavorful rice dish and is a rather large amount. The plain rice and pulao rice are kinda bland in comparison. 1 dish per person should be enough. We also got 2 orders of garlic naan and pulao rice which had some pees and saffron rice. I coulda done without it because we had the biriani. Service was very helpful and courteous the place is located on the second floor. Of the few places I've eaten in Whistler village this place was one of the better places.

The food tastes nothing like Indian. Would never visit even if they pay me in return. The price we pay for the quantity is not worth it. Maybe reduce the price by 3/4th and still not worth visiting and spening $200.

We were seated immediately as the restaurant was empty. We had booth near the kitchen so we could smell everything! It was lunch so we shared a couple dish. First was the potato pakora. I loved it! The potato inside reminded me of the inside of a samosa sans peas and gluten-free. The main we shared was the butter chicken, her favorite. Lunch was great. Another win in the whistler village.

As you walk into Indian Masala Bistro you can smell the spices. The decor is quite basic but very clean. The Chicken Tikka Masala was very delicious and flavorful, the spices and spicy levels were perfect. The Butter Chicken was also a great hit, I do think however more chicken could have been added. I don't think it's shareable size meal, lots of sauce but not much chicken. Also for the price of just the meat entree I think rice could have been included. The nana was very taste, so too was the mango lassi. Friendly efficient staff with great food and service.

3.5 less crowded on busy days, standard fare without the best flavor and texture but good to have some variety in the village

I got the chicken tikka masala under the chicken specialty section and asked if the 5 level would make me cry. The waiter laughed and said absolutely, so I went with the 4. He was NOT wrong. I didn't cry, but I definitely started sniffling and my mouth was on fire when I bit into a pepper. The delicious mango lassi saved me. It had tiny bits of pistachio which was a revelation to me. I loved it and it tasted so fresh, not overly sweet. The chicken tikka masala was less saucy and creamy than I'm used to, instead it had a thick gravy consistency, but it was still very flavorful. I think the chicken tikka under their tandoori grill section might be more like I'm used to, where you can dip the naan in the sauce. The pieces of chicken were pretty big too. The garlic naan was generous and the mushroom pulao rice was delicious. Some reviews say this place is casual but I felt a bit underdressed since they do have white tablecloths/napkins. Service was very attentive and friendly. It was very warm inside so it was a nice break from the cold.

The space is clean and comfortable enough. A bit run-down though. For example, the decor is very dated, and the booth we sat at had tears in the seating which were duct-taped together. Looks tacky and cheap. Service was good, nothing to complain about there. But now for the food. We tried: Chicken pakora - slightly overcooked but not terrible, too salty fish pakora - nicely cooked fish, moist, firm - but too salty butter chicken - very average. Chicken breast chunks were fine, sauce was not that flavourful chicken tikka masala - a bit too sweet for my taste, and not much chicken, mostly onions garlic naan - fine. Naan had a nice texture, but very little garlic mixed grill platter - had a bit of lamb, chicken, prawns, fish. Everything was overcooked, dry, and just too salty. We are spoiled down in Vancouver with an abundance of excellent authentic Indian restaurants. This place in whistler is really only still standing because it has no real competition. Otherwise, the food is too salty, and frankly below average. Also the pricing is extraordinarily high for very small portions and a very casual dining experience - so why pay fine dining prices? The people running it were nice. That gets them 3 stars instead of 2. I would not recommend or come back here.
