    Pineapple - 2Lb Cake

Recently ordered a cake for my sisters birthday. Best pineapple cake we ever had. Everyone at the party couldn't stop talking about it. Great service and pricing! Will be back again!

Horrible experience at Indian Hut Norristown on 08/08/21 - the metal pin in attached picture was found in Aalu Tikki. It was buried deep inside and we only found it while chewing. We were lucky, the pin was not swallowed, otherwise it could have led to life threatening injury. It was very scary. The worst part is owner and person in the restaurant had no seriousness about it. Very poor response and owner didn't bother to call after two days.

I'd say for portions and taste, they were generous. Definitely more authentic than say Taste of India. A little on the pricier side but for those portions I'd say it's okay. A customer would average $9-13 here for their meal. On the other hand, they seem to be appealing heavily to the Indian population. You could smell the strong spices right when you walked into the parking lot. Furthermore, the menu seems kind of overwhelming with the large amount of unfamiliar language. It's helpful to have a letter and number system next to the item to assist those who don't want to butcher the language. I felt pretty uncomfortable trying to order. I'd say, if you want to cater to the general public maybe changing the menu so it's more welcoming and easy for the non-Indian customers or those unfamiliar with Indian cuisine. The food itself was pretty good. We ordered lamb and a small bite (B6) which was cold. At first we were just looking off the specials menu, but a chef told us that what we had ordered was a dry dish, so we altered it. See, this could've been avoided with better explanation (since there was none on the board) or a more readable menu! The lamb itself came with a spicy sauce and a yogurt sauce. Adding basmati rice was an extra $.79 but it definitely helped to address the spices in the lamb. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the rice was light and colorful. Very filling. The small bites were filled with potatoes, chickpeas, and sweetened yogurt sauce. That was interesting and pretty good too. The format of the restaurant was also puzzling. It had the exterior of a Wawa and the interior of an attempt at a modern restaurant. There was plenty of seating on the left side, but i didn't notice it at first since I thought most of the seating was from the booths at the front. I wish they would make it more prominent. Furthermore if you dined in, you pay at the end of your meal and can leave the trays on the table but when you order they give you a buzzer to pick up your food. This also misled me, since the layout seems more fast food oriented, but payment is more sit down oriented. Although the food was good, I felt put off by the unwelcoming menu and confusing layout. I left feeling more puzzled than satisfied. I understand the conflict between the desire to stay authentic or appeal to the general population and I think they've made their choice! Overall, I think I'd only come back to order takeout.

Food ordered- Egg biryani - 8/10 Pav bajji -8/10 Egg hakka noodles -8/10 2 people So good!! It was perfect for a snowy and child night! Nt husband and I loved the good and the convenience ood where it's located! If they start delivering, we might just bed in trouble!

I take it all back: they've figured out the logistics. The food is fantastic and we enjoy ourselves each week when we come! ---------------------------------------------- I'll be honest, I hate giving any Indian place a "lower" star rating because I love Indian food and I think the more around, the better! And here's the thing, we'll 100% be back here. The food is good and the ability to get a good chat is awesome. The place itself is comfortable with big booths for seating. Hey, you can even get your choice of Indian dessert that is displayed in a case. Here's the thing that got me: there is not table service, so everything is ordered at the register, which is totally fine, BUT if you're going to do register ordering, you need more than one person there. It's not they it took extremely long, but it should've been a more efficient process. I was the third person in line, the people in front of me took 19 million years with their order and to pick out a dessert. By the time it was my turn, they asked to let another guy in front of me to pay for something. Look, the whole thing probably took 10 minutes, but when it's that style ordering and you have a hungry little one, you just want to get things done which is why you might not go table-side service that day.

Masala sauce was good. Tofu should be cut down some, way too large and mushy. Reasonable prices.

It is a full service bakery, producing everything from rolls to bagels, muffins, pies and my reason for writing this review - tomato pies. Norristown is the center of Tomato Pie Land, and competes with all the big boys of this genre, most notably Corropolese and Conshohoken. Tomato pie is unique for three main reasons: 1) its simple elegance in having only two major aspects - thick/light dough base and heavy lightly sweet tomato sauce applied across the entire top of the large square crust; 2) the fact that it is made in bakeries rather than pizzerias; and 3) it is served at room temperature, giving it broad utility and versatility. I recently found a stack of Morabito Tomato Pies at the Costco in Warrington, PA. At $6.99 for a boxed quarter sheet, it was almost too good to be true. Could it possibly match up with the other stars that are famous around these parts? We bought a box to find out. It was every bit as good as those guys', and maybe even better, especially given the great price. I just finished the last four squares watching Christmas Eve football and enjoyed every last bite. Of course it was even sweeter that the Cowboys lost! Congratulations to Morabito Baking Company for getting a deal with Costco. This can't be anything but positive for further growth and recognition.
