After the consultation with him and interacting with the staff, my husband and I trusted him to help us on our fertility journey. Dr. Sharara is very knowledgeable and an expert in the field, which made me feel comfortable and confident in putting our trust in him. I appreciated that he did a very thorough and comprehensive diagnostic work up to figure out the best treatment plan. As someone who is also in the healthcare field, I very much appreciate having more data. The nurses (Ava and Jessica), billing coordinator (Trish), and other staff (Maggie) were also wonderful. Compared to the brief experience that I had with a large fertility clinic, VCRM felt like a white glove service. I graduated this week from the clinic at eight and a half weeks pregnant and am incredibly grateful to Dr. Sharara and the entire VCRM team for their guidance, care, and support. I know that I'm very lucky to have only had to do one round of IVF and for the first transfer to be successful. My husband and I tried to conceive for six years before initially seeking treatment at another provider in the area. After a year of being treated like a number in a baby factory at the big box fertility clinic, we decided to take a break. We were defeated, discouraged, and unsure whether we would continue in our attempts to have a child. The next year a good family friend who is also an out of state OBGYN suggested Dr Moragianni. We were able to schedule with her fairly quickly and our consultation left us feeling a renewed sense of hope! She actually listened to everything we had to say and explained things to us that we didn't know even after a year of treatment elsewhere. After our first round of bloodwork to get starred, Dr Moragianni identified an irregularity with my thyroid that had been grossly overlooked at the other clinic. She continued to monitor and work with us as I sorted out the thyroid issue with an endocrinologist. During this time we found that my ovaries were often not visible making it nearly impossible to determine egg count and quality. Based on the examination experience, I believe this was also the case at the previous clinic, only they blindly treated me without explaining the situation and therefore the treatment was continuously unsuccessful. Dr Moragianni on the other hand very clearly explained everything, presented us with options, and offered her best advice. She did not encourage us in any way to proceed with a path that was likely to be a dead end. One thing she offered and I was unaware of was egg donation. Ultimately, this made the most sense for our situation, and now we have a beautiful baby boy that I carried to full term. Thanks to Dr Moragianni, my underlying health issue was resolved (I had parathyroid surgery), my time and money were not wasted, and I was treated like the top priority patient at every visit! I was referred to this facility by my primary care physician and scheduled an appointment. After…read morereceiving a confirmation call, I was informed that I would need to pay for a service that my insurance had already confirmed would be covered, so I decided to cancel the appointment. However, 30 minutes after the scheduled appointment time, I received a call stating that the copay was not necessary and that the previous information was incorrect. I was told that I could still come in for my appointment, so I did, as I was only 12 minutes away. Upon arrival, I noticed that the facility appeared outdated and poorly maintained, which made me question the quality of the testing. In the exam room, the chair looked like it hadn't been updated in decades, which caused me to question the quality and cleanliness. They used a basic Amazon scale to take my weight. Nothing up to my standard in a matter of 10 minutes. Within the appointment I requested a specific test that should have been included, but I was informed that there would be an additional charge. At this point, I declined further service and left, as I had already suspected they might try to upcharge for every service without regard for patient care. Unfortunately, my suspicions were confirmed when I later received a $35 bill for leaving. I strongly do not recommend this facility. It seems more focused on profit than on patient care. Instead of charging unnecessary fees, perhaps they should invest in updating their equipment. Might I add, no service was provided. I asked the nurse to confirm any charges before changing into the paper gown and having any service provided.

Let me start by saying KUDOS to my patient care coordinator "Jo-jo" (Jolissa) Vialva. I cannot praise her enough. She has been my champion and advocate throughout my maternal health journey. (More so than my OBs at Capital Women's Care who don't really seem to care half as much as Jo-jo.) Over the course of 5 months since I first made the appointment to see Dr Kimberly Moon (who was referred by three people I trust, including my gynecologist) Jo-jo has diligently and persistently followed up with me and even just messaged me from time to time to check up on me. I'm blown away because NONE of my doctors ever do that. She truly makes you feel like she cares! I especially appreciate her effort to fit a virtual appointment with Dr. Moon to accommodate my husband and my busy schedules. Initially there was a lot of confusion and miscommunication with my insurance during my transfer from the Shady Grove Fairfax location (which is HORRIBLE). I was very upset, but everything got resolved thanks to Lauren the Director of the Shady Grove DC location who personally called me to rectify the situation. I was extremely impressed by her leadership and the patient-centered resolution. She even gave me her direct phone line to call her if I needed her assistance (though thanks to Kayla the finance coordinator, everything was taken care of as promised.) Her gesture definitely helped build my trust and confidence in the care I would receive at Shady Grove. In terms of actual care/procedure, Dr. Kimberly Moon was very generous with her time -- she was clearly knowledgeable and thorough in reviewing my previous records, and patiently answered my husband and my questions without making us feel rushed. Getting a saline sonogram at the location was seamless: from the check-in process (no wait time) to the friendly front desk staff and the sonographer, everything was efficient and easy. The facility was immaculate. While I can't comment on their IVF treatments, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to SHADY GROVE DC location to receive quality care and follow up!

Working with Shady Grove has been one disaster after another…read more I made a standard appointment for semen analysis. After providing the sample at the K Street location, I was called two days later and informed that the appointment was set up incorrectly and I had to reschedule. No apology or explanation was provided and payment was collected. The next appointment was a hour away from my house but I took it. At the second appointment, I was greeted (Rockville location) by a rude front desk staffer who redirected me to a different floor. At the next front desk, the staff was again disorganized and rude. Today, I was told that results will not be added to my patient portal for up to 30 days, despite being told - repeatedly - that the test takes 7-10 days for results to be returned. To date, no one has apologized for the repeated failures of the staff. No one seems concerned that the staff is incapable of communicating effectively or scheduling appointments. Despite promises, a manager has yet to call me to discuss the situation.
