I'm not proud and in-fact very embarrassed to say I had my vehicle repossessed by this company. However, everyone working here was extremely pleasant and helpful to me during my difficult time. I thank everyone at this company for being so nice. I don't recommend getting your vehicle repoed but I'm thankful for being treated like a human being. read more

I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Independent Recovery after my car was towed, and I can't express how frustrated I am with their unprofessional service. The staff members seemed completely indifferent to customer satisfaction, making the entire situation even more exasperating. Their operating hours are extremely limited, only from 9 AM to 1 PM, and they ONLY offer same-day appointments. This seems like a strategy to keep your vehicle longer, racking up $10 per day for parking, along with a $45 fee for the appointment. It feels like an intentional setup to rip people off. The woman at the counter is extremely rude hiding behind a mirrored counter, and failed to inform me that they only accept cash. So I had to get an uber again to a bank to get cash right away so my appointment won't be wasted and my car being held for an additional $10 a day. After over two weeks of having my car, I was shocked to find scratches all over it, and even worse, they had left my doors open, resulting in a dead battery when I finally picked it up. I paid another company to come give me a jumpstart. I would strongly advise avoiding Independent Recovery at all costs. Their practices are exploitative, unprofessional and absolutely disgusting!! read more

The worst experience ever, they illegally repoed my car at my mother's funeral I was forced out of my car and threatened by the tow truck driver first off they blocked me in with their vehicle and wouldn't allow me to leave. Yes I sued and won but the company refuses to pay a court ordered judgement. They're very rude and unprofessional read more

Horrible customer service. Scammers. Ignorant. Independent recovery had my car for 13 days. They do not answer their phones after 11 am I guess, and when they do, you can only make an appointment the day of. While they had my car, they happened to leave an enourmous dent on my rear bumper and paint transfer. They said it wasn't them, but the paint was still new and chipping. Millennium was the company that sent my car here and told me it would be $25 a day and $35 for redemption fee. When I was finally able to reach them, they tried to have me pay $55 a day and $115 for redemption. Even after back and forth with millennium and the lot. It took hours for independent recovery to honor the contracted price set. read more

I had the misfortune of hanging my car repossessed less than a week before Christmas. The tow truck driver, who also worked the yard when I went to pick it up was very kind and professional and made the experience a little less ugly. He told me if I gave him my keys my car would be in Garden Grove rather than Riverside. Suffice to say I gave him my keys. I was crazy anxious and physically suck after reading all of these bad reviews so I was preparing for the worst. The gal who answers the phone also processed my payment when I went in. She was super nice, very helpful, and got me an appointment first thing in the morning. Nothing was missing and my car was returned with the same mileage it was taken at. I don't know if this is the same owner as the other Independent Recovery tow yards/services, but my experience with them was a good one. They made an awful experience a lot easier on me considering the circumstances. If your car gets towed for whatever reason I hope it goes to the Garden Grove Independent Recovery yard. read more

This company tried charging me $87.00 to retrieve my belongings after my finance company repossessed my car even though my finance company told me it would be $25.00 My finance company had to email them to have the fee reduced and on top of that they told me they would need to go through my car and take pics of my personal items and I couldn't get my items till the next day. I told them I didn't feel comfortable with that and if there was something in writing and they blew me off and said if I wanted my things it was "gonna happen". The n st day when I went to get my items; everything had been put in black trash bags and hands to me after I signed their documents, they still tried collecting $87.00 from me until I told them the bank should have clarified it was $25.00 she the lady stepped away and came back saying "okay 25, cash only". I wasn't allowed on the property nor was I able to see my car. They handed me everything through a bar door....a week later after I took care of my payments to reclaim my car; I was informed my car wasn't running and to bring a tow truck when I pick it up. I'm currently in the process of SUING these guys and all other parties involved. They messed with the wrong guy. read more

Very disappointed in this company. I went to retrieve my personal belongings from my car. As I was there, I noticed my laptop and my money (which was hidden in my glove compartment) was missing. When I confronted the owner, he was very rude and handled the situation unprofessionally. My car door was locked before it was towed, he assured me that his employees didn't go through my "junkie" car to take anything. read more

these guys are frauds, they have driven 13,252 miles on my car under 1 month, after my financing company repoed it. my financing company used their service. there's no way a human being if he's using it for personal use can drive that many miles under 1 month, they used my car for Uber. not sure how Uber allowed this, when the car is not on drivers name how can they register that vehicle for Uber use? can someone suggest me a good lawyer to sue them. someone had to teach them a lesson. read more

Horrible Horrible Horrible. Picked my car up today and there was 80$ missing out of my kids wallet which was left in the glove compartment. All they can do is file a complaint and do a full investigation which will take 2-5 days ..but it took some one 5min to break into my car and steal from a child. Will be filing a police report and discussing this issue with a lawyer. read more

They have a main office where you do the paperwork, all of which went smoothly and effortlessly. After getting that taken care of, they directed me to their tow yard located down the street from the office (weird) where it took almost a whole hour waiting for these idiots to bring my car. They were NOT busy. I was the only one waiting at the gate to get assistance. Not to mention I could clearly see these guys walking around the lot, blatantly ignoring me. After trying to get their attention (including hollering, honking the horn of the car I was in, calling their main office to get someone to help and even getting the attention of the guy only for him to tell me he'll "be there in a minute") they finally bring my car back and there's a significant dent and scratch on my driver side door. I tried to confront the idiot, and he tells me that he "doesn't know how it got there but I can contact the office to file complaint" and then proceeded to rush me off the lot. I wont even begin to mention how ridiculous their "complaint process" is. By far the worst experience I've ever had with a towing company. If you hate your job that much, why are you even working there? read more

First off, Im well aware of who got my car impounded and it wasn't KIA. The day before me and my kids were moving out of an uninhabitable condo by a disgusting human being. A tow company all the way in Rancho Santa Margarita where she (owner) use to live. Oh how convenient. But with everything in Ca theres seems to be laws that owners and business people dont follow and it becomes the norm. First, by law a tow truck cannot tow a vehicle more than 10 miles and since he was on camera we see him break into private property and leaving the electric garage gate of track and not fixable with out paying a fee. Breach of peace, I believe thats what its called along with theft, and possible fraud. I had two laptops in the vehicle mine and my daughters along with other goods. I reside in 90301 which is over 50-something miles and still haven't been able to go get my things. I hope these next steps will have yet another company really thinks about doing evil deeds for a person who was being dirty and still is. read more
