We were fortunate to find Sarah through her Yelp reviews and I'm so glad we did. She managed to make the somewhat scary (but exciting!) process of buying our first home seem easy. We were moving from San Diego, so I contacted Sarah through the form on her website one evening. The next morning she gave me a call and we discussed my situation (husband already temporarily housed in the area, kids and I still in San Diego). She listened and offered some great suggestions on how to phrase our needs so that we'd get more hits on what we were looking for. This alone made a tremendous difference in the search. Immediately following the call, Sarah set up an MLS portal for us and our home search was official. When the time came for me to fly up to Chico and actually visit properties, I let Sarah know my schedule and she made sure that she had large blocks of time set up for us on both Saturday and Sunday, as well as during the week. This was so reassuring to us, because flying back and forth wasn't going to be an option, so knowing that we'd be able to get a lot done in the week we had. Sarah had us create a list of favorites and we worked from there. Initially our plan was to see half on Sat. and the other half on Sun., but 3 of the houses on our list got scooped up before Sat. so Sarah called us and said that if we were up for a long day, she was willing to spend all Saturday covering every house on our list. How amazing is she?! As she drove us from house to house, she gave us information about neighborhoods, Chico in general, the local schools and even restaurant suggestions. She was able to answer all of our questions and let us know that she had local contacts for a variety of our possible needs and concerns as we moved forward. We landed on our final choice after a long day of looking. Sarah was back with us on Sunday working to get the paperwork started and us moving in the right direction. Her negotiating skills are second to none and we were given far more than we'd have gotten on our own. She asked for things we didn't even know we could ask for and then got them! We are due to close on our new home in the next week or so and in the time between choosing and closing, Sarah has been in contact checking in with us and making sure we're doing okay. At one point, my kids and I considered the possibility of taking an apartment in Chico instead of waiting in San Diego. I contacted Sarah and (not surprisingly) she was on it. In no time she had a suggestion for an appropriate place that would even keep us in the same schools as where our home would. We did the walk through of our new home and Sarah was there, making sure to keep the contractors on point and giving them the chance to correct any flaws (many of which we would have overlooked due to our excitement). And of course, it's worth mentioning that as this comes to a close, we've seen a slow down in the processing of our paperwork on the end of our lender. Sarah asked for the names and numbers of all those involved so that she could call and help to move things along. This is a woman who gets things done. My husband and I have been so completely impressed with Sarah. She is 100% professional and at the same time manages to be so approachable and down to earth. Not once did we feel as though we couldn't ask her a question, which was really important because this is our first home buying experience. I would recommend Sarah without hesitation. If ever we find ourselves in the position to sell or are looking to buy again, Sarah will be our first (and only!) stop. I purchased a new construction home and the process was very long and arduous. I am a very organized and detail oriented person in all things...pretty annoying to most. I find it very difficult to find people to work with who are organized, punctual, thorough, detail oriented, and professional. Sarah is all those things and more. She was an amazing partner in my home purchase. She was assertive on my behalf when I didn't feel comfortable being assertive. She was calm and collected when I found myself frustrated and angry.
