My first experience with Alisha Simpkins was in 2009. I had just moved back to the area from out of state, and I was finally ready to make my first home purchase after landing a job in Chico. I contacted a couple real estate companies, but Alisha was by far the first person to return my contact quickly. She helped educate me on the process, and before long I had made some offers on houses. Despite an offer falling through due to the incompetence of the selling realtor (or the lack of ethics - jury's still out on that one), Alisha continued to support me and before long, we had an offer accepted. One of the things that impressed me was Alisha's ability to maintain momentum on the process (even despite my lack of experience). She has a strong rapport with other good realtors in the area, and was able to leverage her exceptional negotiation skills to save me from some potentially expensive rookie-home-buyer pitfalls. In fact, I'm pretty sure she personally saved the deal at least 5 times. Thanks to Alisha's help, I had bought my starter home.
One thing that surprised me about Alisha was that over the next 6 years, she continued to stay in touch. She would check in every once in a while just to see how things were going with me, and then with me and my new wife, and then with me and my new family. She is excellent at maintaining relationships. Finally, in 2015, during one of our conversations, she mentioned that houses like my current one were selling like hotcakes in case we were ready to upgrade. (And with 2 kids and a third planned, we were definitely ready for an upgrade!) Reflecting on that conversation, I think Alisha knew this already even before we did yet she was very tactful and professional about bringing it up. It's a great example of Alisha's refined strategic vision. In another display of taking care of her clients, Alisha educated my wife and I on the selling process, including some of her very modern and agile methods of selling homes. We took her advice on a number of things, and our house sold in 27 hours from the moment it listed for a fair price that we were happy with. Needless to say, she is an exceptional seller's realtor!
The next phase of our journey (buying the home we're currently in) was by all accounts anomalously tumultuous. It involved purchasing a home via an eBay-like auction (my idea), overseas correspondence with lackluster agents, more escrow extensions than I even want to remember, lots and lots of prayers, and some frazzled nerves at the finance and title companies. Everybody said that it was the toughest one they've ever seen. Despite all this, and even though absolutely none of it was Alisha's fault, she stuck by us through thick and thin, personally going to bat for us numerous times against the forces of ignorance and apathy on the other side of the transaction. After all was said and done, Alisha and team prevailed and we were able to "land the plane", so to speak. And save about $130,000 on the home in the process. I can honestly say that without the support and expertise of Alisha and her team, we would never have been able to buy the wonderful home that we're in now. It's perfect for us, and we love it.
Any time I hear (or even overhear) that someone is in the real estate market, I recommend Alisha. She is well-versed in the area, and she exhibits initiative and creativity in all the ways she is innovative to serve her clients. Her methods are modern and sound, and she has exceptional character and integrity. I cannot recommend her highly enough, and am proud to do business with her in the past, present, and future. read more
