Title: Extremely rude, racist behavior and dishonest lowball offer -- stay away…read moreI went in to sell an 18k gold necklace and had one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a business. The man behind the glass was openly hostile from the moment I walked in. His attitude felt blatantly racist -- dismissive, condescending, and aggressive in a way that made it clear my race played a role in how I was treated. He lied about the current gold spot price (I checked it on my phone while standing there -- it was way off) and then offered me roughly 55% of what my necklace is actually worth. When I questioned the numbers, he became even ruder and basically told me to take it or leave. No explanation, no transparency, just attitude. I've sold gold before and have never been treated this poorly anywhere else in Houston. This place is predatory and discriminatory. There are plenty of honest gold buyers in the area who will treat you with respect and give you a fair price -- do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. I will never return and strongly urge others, especially people of color, to avoid Houston Gold & Silver on Humble

In the past two years, my husband and I have bought a $9k engagement ring, a $2500 necklace/…read morependant, a $600 necklace, and 3 $350 watches from Delton Hayes. The solitaire on the engagement ring POPPED off in 6 months (they replaced it). The chain on the $2500 necklace broke within 4 months. The chain on the $600 necklace (a gift to someone else) broke within 2 months. One of the watches second hand fell off after about one year and the other two watches were bought in May of 2025. When we go in there, there is not a friendly, hello again vibe. I was irritated with my husband for buying these last two watches in May but he impulse bought another one for himself (as he was taking the one he had bought previously in since the second hand fell off) and the other as a graduation present. We went in today (2 weeks to fix it) and upon giving it to us, the lady at the counter said oh wait, this hand is broke. Another week . My husband says he definately doesn't feel like a repeat valued customer. This is it, no more Delton Hayes. Maby it's us but almost everything we have purchased there has broken within a few months to a year, that is not normal. Plus, no warm friendly vibe. True, they are conveniently located but our experiences have just been too negative. Plus we have been waiting for an appraisal on the solitaire for over 10 months. It just keeps falling through the cracks. Their jewelry is pretty though.

I walked it there was only one small lady working in all this jewelry that was spread over a big counter. (They must feel really secure here). She told me my necklace was worth 40.00. My deal is and I expect this from every business establishment I go into is what I hear out of your mouth is she I expect to happen. She told me 40 I got back different. The atmosphere it gave me was that the kind of people who own this store were more likely people who inherited it or just got tied into it somehow and while they don't need it they still keep it open.
