We hired home care workers to provide meal preparation and driving services and generally assure that my relative was safe. His condition was deteriorating but he wanted to maintain as much independence as possible and be in places he loved. But we received far more than that. Workers responded to his desire to 'explore' the area and look for new places to sit each day. She helped him move residences. We received comprehensive reports of the visits on the family home site; listening to a description of his day and changes in his condition was helpful in deciding how to proceed with care. We received phone calls when there was a concern that the workers thought needed to be addressed quickly. Phone calls often lasted for 30 minutes. Heather was willing to deal with several different members of our family. She responded quickly to emails from the family.With great skill, she communicated when she thought additional assistance was needed, when John's condition was changing, when she thought he needed a different level of care.
