Mike had great follow through and communicated with us throughout the job. He managed to the budget very well, and made us aware of any unusual situations that would deviate from the budget. Compliments also to his team and subcontractors. All of their work was excellent, and they worked hard to keep things neat and tidy. And, they were very reliable, which is great trait in the Truckee area. The final result was a well built addition and an upgrade to an old house that seems like it was just built. Highly recommend.

It started with the cabin needing a new roof, and it turned into a full remodel. It became a 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath, 2 car attached garage, 2415 square feet. We cannot thank Porter Construction enough for everything they have done to make our home so amazing.

For anyone that has dealt with trying to line up work in Tahoe and the lack of individuals who don't call back, don't do a quality job etc.-this is NOT the case with Tim and Jeff. Tim calls back and/or emails promptly, and they show up when they say they will and get the job done when they say they will get the job done, which has been exceedingly hard to find this type of reliability and dependability in the area. They are extremely kind, efficient, and do exceedingly great work! I simply cannot describe the amount of gratitude I feel nor can I find adequate words to describe how truly wonderful the Waters Brothers are in every aspect! They are without a doubt a diamond in the rubble and I'm so thankful I found them for our garage remodel project!

To make matters more challenging, we were living out of state when we discovered the problem. So we called Jed to investigate the issue and come up with a solution. He not only figured out the problem and fixed the driveway, but he and his team also helped us replace the worn out carpet with beautiful wood flooring. The entire project was completed while we were living out of state. Jed was responsive, trustworthy, and incredibly easy to work with, which, in my experience, is not something you can always say about contractors, especially when you are managing them from remote! When we finally moved back home, we were amazed at how great everything looked. The workmanship was excellent, and we couldn't find a single thing that needed to be fixed or redone. Knowing that everything had been taken care of while we were hundreds of miles away made our move back home so much less stressful. I can't recommend Jed and his team enough. If you're looking for a contractor you can trust to do quality work and make the process as painless as possible, you really can't go wrong with Jed and his team!

As usual, I asked for bids from three companies. Larry was by far the easiest to work with on details and color consultation. He had great advice on accent wall location and color. Our family has counted on Sierra Rainbow for almost 40 years to protect our home in Alpine Meadows…read morefrom the ravages of sun, rain, snow, and cold. Larry and his crew have cheerfully embraced a family dynasty of nitpicking perfectionists and they ALWAYS do it right the first time and every time. Larry is an encyclopedia of paint chemicals, proper preparation, and application. He should have his own TV show: The Paint Guy. But he doesn't just say how it should be done, he does it. Two years ago, Sierra Rainbow stained our 1969 built house for the (sixth) time in October 2015 and it literally just glowed and even today, still glows. Literally, you stop at the road and everyone goes "whoah!!!" Sierra Rainbow stains our decks every two years and that is the only reason we still have the original deck. They just completed the latest staining in September 2016 and the deck looks fantastic. Sierra Rainbow has also refinished the interior of our house five times. I would emphatically recommend Sierra Rainbow as the one and only source for your Tahoe painting needs.

I was repeatedly told that it would be done "soon"! Numerous attempts at getting the date resulted in "Don't worry, soon" to many times to count. Now after seven months of waiting and being ignored winter is here. I have to store the equipment and wait for next year to find a reputable company. Don't be deceived, what they say and what they do are entirety different.

He incorporated my job into his busy schedule and did great professional work removing the old roofing and installing a new metal roof at a reasonable price. His crew were punctual, efficient, and conscientious, cleaning up every day with minimal disruption to our living conditions. He advised us of reroofing options ahead of time, took care of getting the building permit, started work on time and finished on time, with full inspections and excellent workmanship. So far the roof has held up well with the infrequent rains, and hopefully it should withstand some heavy snow storms this winter. In summary, I was extremely pleased with Mike and Class "A" Roofing and the job he and his workers did, and I recommend him to others in the Truckee and north Lake Tahoe region for their metal roofing needs.

Of the five contractors I reached out to, Huber from Northern Sky Builders stood out as the most responsive and professional -- his estimates were clear, timely, and well thought out. While our project didn't finish exactly on the original timeline due to weather-related delays, Huber's crew went above and beyond to make up for lost time, even working weekends to keep things on track. What truly impressed me, though, was Huber's follow-through long after the project was done. Nearly a year later, I had a plumbing emergency over a weekend and reached out to him for help. He responded immediately and went the extra mile to coordinate a same-day solution -- his crew picked up and installed a new water heater within hours, preventing any disruption to our guests. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Huber and Northern Sky Builders again. They deliver high-quality work, are honest, responsive, and reasonably priced -- all the qualities you hope for in a contractor, but rarely find all in one company.

We could not have been happier with the process of working with them, and with the result. They are true craftsmen, who take great care with the details that matter. They worked very well with our architect and designer, and did a stellar job of directing an array of sub-contractors, all of whom they have great relationships with. Justin and Chris always listened to what we wanted, and always tried to accommodate us, though they often had great ideas of their own that often swayed our decisions. Bi-weekly invoices were always very clear, providing great detail on each charge, including those from the subcontractors. At the end of each day, Justin and team did a thorough cleanup of the site. Our neighbors were never disturbed, and remarked on how friendly our contractors were. And indeed they were. We always enjoyed all of our discussions with Justin and Chris and their team.
