I got off work yesterday grabbed my kids and raced to incognito the local costume store we got there 15 minutes before minutes before 630 which is their time of closing posted on the Internet and we were very abruptly stopped at the door and barked out that they are closed. I beg the lady at the door to please let us come in because we just drove an hour and a 1/2 after our long day of work and school to get to their store to support our local businesses and it was the most appalling treatment I have ever had. Right in front of me she turned away 2 girls who had just driven 2 hours to get to their store. The 1st thing you learn in business school is appropriate customer service and do not turn people away. I have never left that store spending less than $300 there. I imagine all the people that she turned away would have had an equal amount of money to spend in their costume store, that thrives one month out of the year. You would think you would keep your doors open until patrons stopped coming in, so that you could sell out of all out of all of your inventory that clutters the store. We will never go back. Ive been a parton there for 15yrs. Probably just did me a huge favor and saved me a ton of money. I never one time took my family into the temporary Halloween store the shows up on state street in years past because i was devoted to supporting our local Incognito. Forget it!! No more!! And dont trust the hours of operation on the internet because they will slam the doors in your face, leaving you with sad kids and a pile of money that was about to go in their pocket!!! My daughter stayed up stayed up untill 2 pm trying to come up with a new idea. INCOGNITO SHOULD HANG UP THEIR HAT & RETIRE IF THEY ARE SOO PUT OUT THAT WE WANT TO SUPPORT THEM!!!!! read more

As soon as my family and I stepped foot in the store there were like 3 employees literally in my bubble following me around every step I took. It was so incredibly uncomfortable and degrading. Not to mention the outrageous prices. I regret walking in there and encourage others not to make the same mistake. read more

I arrived at the store at 6:15PM on October 28th to find a costume for my son to where to school on the 29th. Even though their store said the hours were until 6:30PM, they turned us away at the door and declared the store was closed. Then I heard one of the staff members telling another customer that their business was not wanted and they could "get lost". I cleaned it up for the sake of this posting, but it wasn't a good scenario. The ironic part was that the parking lot was full (10 cars) and there were a lot of people walking away shaking their heads. You try to shop local and stay offline and experiences like this drive me back to Amazon for better service and better prices. They won't stay in business long with this attitude. ok so I just went in to get one thing for my friend and it was hot as hell in there turn on the ac your busy for like 3 weeks out of the whole fucking year can't you afford to run on the ac for customer satisfaction. despite that, my card got declined because I used the wrong one she printed out my receipt and said your all good to go! I was on my way out the door and she screamed at me me "HEY HELOOO YOUR CARD GOT DECLINED" like how embarrassing is that its a small store she did not need to scream in front of a bunch of people I know that if there was another costume store I would never go back and I am not the only one who has whitenesses the owner or manager being an absolute bitch with no customer service i and many more people would feel better paying for over priced crap if there was some customer service! its worth driving to the next town to buy someone else's over priced garbage! read more

WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! I will NEVER go back here and I will ALWAYS relay this to my friends and family. I don't want to give this place any stars, if that were possible. My brother warned me about how rude they are here, but I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt. We were in the store less than five minutes. I had found a hat I liked and was trying to find a costume, either for myself or for my husband, around the hat. My husband was holding our 15 month old and we were temporarily separated when I had found the hat. When we met up, my son saw the hat I had in my hands and put it on his head. We continued down the aisle. An employee aproached us. She asked if the hat was for my husband, and he said no, but it was keeping our son pretty entertained. At this point I was turning around to tell my husband it was for one of us, just in time to see the employee (whos name tag said, I believe Sheryl... something Sh...) take the hat from my son and said "this isn't for keeping him entertained." I stared at her, a bit shocked. She then turned to me and asked me, "don't you have something in your purse you can entertain him with." I turned to my husband and told him we were leaving. The employee followed us all the way to the door. I had a fake axe in my hand, which I turned to set on one of the displays and she reached for it and took it, saying, "I'll take that!" This whole situation could have happened differently and my husband and I would have left the store, hat included, with other items we were looking for. But because of this employee, I will NEVER go back and I will tell everyone about my horrid experience there. It is worth the drive to Santa Rosa for the few things we were looking for, just to get a little bit of respect. WORST STORE IN UKIAH, BY FAR! And I am a Ukiah native. read more
