Cars are parked all along the street and drivers tailgate you down the 15 mph school zone every morning but like to complain about speeding. This school needs to stop advertising that they have open enrollment if they can't handle the traffic they created. They need to more considerate of the neighborhood. All this despite having several school buses of their own.

Teachers this year have extremely high expectations for 10 year old kids. The last two months the school has pointed out behavior issues with my son. My son gets bullied like crazy and nothing is done about it. The school is so quick to pointing out everything he does so he gets in trouble rather than recognizing he needs guidance to improve. I'm so disappointed how the school has been treating and dealing with my son. He doesn't want to go to school because he feels like the staff is targeting him. If your kid fits the "normal" stereotype of a kid, they will do fine at the school. If your kid struggles in anything, behavior or academically, don't waste your time sending your kid here. We won't be returning for 5th grade.

During our time here, my children witnessed teachers gossiping about other students in front of students, as well as staff discussing internal conflicts and other employees. Even more concerning, we experienced middle school staff openly bragging about parents withdrawing their children from the school and taking pride in the fact that they felt they had pushed those families to leave. That is incredibly inappropriate behavior from adults who are supposed to be creating a supportive environment for children. When serious concerns regarding bullying and harassment were brought to the principal and administration, I repeatedly felt that they were dismissed rather than properly addressed. There seemed to be little initiative to investigate or follow through, and I often had to continuously follow up just to make sure concerns involving my child were being addressed at all. Communication is another major issue, particularly with school sports. There were times I would not even know that my child's practice had been canceled unless my child personally texted me. Parents should not have to rely on their children to receive basic scheduling information from a school program. Overall, my experience with this school has been extremely disappointing. I found the lack of communication, accountability, professionalism, and appropriate response to parent concerns unacceptable. After three years of experiencing these issues, I would not recommend this school to other families.

My experience with West Valley Christian during the application and enrollment process was…read moredisappointing. From the beginning, communication was inconsistent and often required multiple follow-ups to receive answers to basic questions. Responses were not always timely, making the process more stressful and time-consuming than it needed to be. As a prospective parent, I expected greater professionalism and consideration for families' time. My scheduled tour was delayed by more than 20 minutes, and I had to ask about the delay because no one acknowledged how long we had been waiting. There were delays in communication, a lack of clear expectations, and limited follow-through on questions and concerns that were raised throughout the process. I was also concerned by what appeared to be preferential treatment during the admissions process. While every family wants the best opportunity for their child, it is important that all applicants are treated fairly, respectfully, and consistently. Additionally, I would have liked to see a stronger commitment to diversity and inclusion, which is a true reflection on Gods kingdom. First impressions matter, and my experience left me questioning whether all families would feel equally welcomed and valued. While I cannot speak to the academic experience, my interactions during the admissions process did not reflect the level of organization, responsiveness, and family-centered approach I was hoping to find in a school community. I pray that West Valley makes significant improvements to their enrollment/application process.

Long story short, This school lets out early ALOT. I dont know about other people, but I work. My 16 year old goes to Goodyear High and pics his brother and sister up daily, on short days he runs 30min behind because his school does not let out in time to be there at 12:20-12:35. I have been called and yelled at, chastised, belittled, and told "We are not babysiters," when my kids were waiting for their brother to pick them up. Mind you, other kids as well as security are present well after school has ended, no problems there tho. But for the front office lady to yell at my 16 year old son that he needs to take his 6 yr old sister and 10 year old brother and het off campus now... or to make a 6 year old start walking home alone while she cries that she doesnt want to because shes waiting for her older brother and shes scared to walk home... In the middle of me apologizing while gettin chastised, I was cut off multiple times and told things like "Well, you need to figure something else out,"...."Thats not my problem,"...."We are not babysitters." This is how Copper trails treats parents and children that attend AND LEND A HAND AT EVENTS. LMAO. THIS SCHOOL IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT CHILDREN. THEY CARE ABOUT A CHECK. DONT LET THE FEW REVIEWS FOOL YOU. IVE TALKED TO SEVERAL PARENTS THAT SHARE MY SAME VIEWS ABOUT THIS PLACE. Currently exploring options for my children to attend school elsewhere....... And they wonder why kids dont give a damn about school. Seems to me it because the teachers dont give a damn about them.

This message is directed to the new principal, Ms. Dawson. I am concerned about her approach with…read morethe students. For some reason, she feels it's acceptable to mislead kids in an attempt to elicit information. For example, she told my niece that she saw her on camera using her phone, asking why she called her mom about a referral she received. However, my niece didn't call her mom, and she didn't even have her phone with her. Ms. Dawson then went to my sister's classroom and shared the same misleading information with her. Additionally, I have requested a 504 plan for my child, who is struggling with math despite having an IEP in that subject. Unfortunately, the request was denied because my child doesn't "qualify." Now, I have to wait another month for the school to conduct their own IEP evaluation. I can't shake the feeling that Ms. Dawson holds some biases against my family members who attend this school.
