Using my app, I came across Loraine's DBC. Therefore I decided to give them a try since they were the closest to me. The stylist in first station/chair on the right as you come into the salon (sorry I don't know her name) immediately greeted and showed me where to go for my shampoo and roller set after she asked what I wanted done. After my hair was dry, I was styled by the same lady that greeted me. Once she was done with my hair, I was very happy with my results because I'm very picky about how I get my hair styled. I only do wash & sets --- NO blowdry --- NO spray on heat protectant (makes my hair smell like a burnt curling iron) --- flatiron and then flat pincurls. My hair was very soft, full of body and I had tons of bounce back curls. If I lived in the area, I would definitely go back and become a frequent customer. Not to mention, their prices are really reasonable. CONS: 1. Please beware that this salon is a CASH only establishment but they do have an ATM on site (con because of surcharge). 2. The shampoo/roller set room is fairly small. You have to squeeze by customers if there's a crowd in the room. 3. While I was there, there were small children there. For safety reasons, I dont like to see children in a salon unless they are being serviced. And sometimes, I want to come to a calm and relaxing environment to get pampered.

I have been here twice now after having a hard time finding a stylist that would help me pick a cut…read moreand color right for my hair and lifestyle. I went to Sami after reading her profile on the website. It was helpful that Chi Wah has a profile for their stylists so you can find someone that fits you. When you first walk in the salon is clean, has an inviting ambiance and the staff is immediately friendly and welcoming. They offer water, coffee and Aveda tea. As far as the appointment. Sami is very personable and even was able to recall our conversations from a couple of months ago when I first visited. My first visit she was able to math my hair color exactly to the other brand which was in my hair. She was also able to give me a cut, that for the first time in my life, I was able to wash and go with minimal fuss. I can wear this cut curly or straight. My second appointment consisted of improving the cut and ridding my hair of the rest of my dead ends. My hair is so soft and manageable thanks to her expertise. Also she gave me color that matches my skin tone and I'm loving the balayage. I'm including a picture but please note this is my picture and was not the day she styled it. My recommendation is to give this salon a try. Everyone is very down to earth, friendly and helpful.

Instead of thinking I had to live with frazzled ends and shorter hair b/c I though my hair had changed, she helped me understand that my hair could be healthy from root to tip! I am a scooter user and can always park my scooter conveniently without feeling I'm in the way, and I know they can even service people in their wheelchairs or scooters. But anyway, back to Debbie. Nothing replaces experience. She is perhaps "old school" in the best way; knows how to talk to her customers and makes the whole experience fun! She is a master, knows what she's doing, knows how to cut hair, knows how to perm difficult hair (which would be my hair)... I even went through a phase where I had mermaid colored hair, and she delivered on that look as well! I highly recommend you book your next appointment with her. Prices are reasonable, and, like I said, you will not find a more experienced expert in the field to make you look fantastic! Don't waste your time with people fresh out of school or the big chain locations. Entrust your look to Debbie!

They don't try to sell you thinks, and they won't secretly add in services that you don't want. My Balayage took about 2.5 hours, and it's about $150. The price is very high but for the effort and time they put into you, it actually very cheap. Other places charge you extra for blow dry, wash, and style. Here, it's all built into the price. When you talk to them, it's very easy to tell that they KNOW what they're doing. A lot of people don't know how much schooling goes into this. I assure you that if you want to get your hair done, they will do what is best for you and will also give you tips on what works!

This was absolutely the worst experience I think I've ever had at a salon. I came to have my hair…read moretouched up for my bridal shower and left with a patchy mess and 5 inches cut off after I asked several times to keep as much length as possible. Marin became overwhelmed when she realized how patchy the bleach was at the root, and without communicating at all, slapped a brown dye over my roots, which just obviously added to the lack of blending into the blonde highlights. From there she tried to send me on my way without even finishing the blunt cut she started. After I asked what was happening, she sent Joe over who told me he didn't see the problem and it was just the light. After hearing how my hip length hair was suddenly to my shoulders, he offered to fix the color, which I accepted as long as he did it and not the inexperienced stylist. I showed up to my 5:30 appointment time and sat waiting for 30 minutes while he walked around, chatted with staff, and decided to teach a lesson on curl technique. When I stood up to leave, as I had an appointment after that was clearly stated to them when booking, and reassured would be fine, he had the audacity to look me in the face and say "weren't we only supposed to start 15 minutes ago? They must have booked you wrong". This was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had, I would NEVER recommend this salon to ANYONE. I had been a happy client here for years, and clearly it's because I had never met the owner. I'm now left with a hack job haircut and patchy hair one week before my shower and 90 days from my wedding. Please do not ever consider this salon. An unprofessional leader creates unprofessional staff, and clearly this place is going downhill fast. I would recommend reading other 1 star reviews where rather than taking accountability for the "professional services" they screwed up for others, they leave a 5 page paragraph telling the reviewer to basically F off. Poor management, poor customer service while touting a professional experience, and a lack of accountability for services they can't actually provide. Only go here if you're willing to hate how you look and feel afterward.
