Absolutely horrible operation. Amateurish personnel coupled with mendacity, gaslighting and ineptitude. My console hose came loose literally five dives after it had been "serviced." Fortunately, it was at 40 feet rather than 100 feet. This was after a debacle regarding the regulator "being ready." I have been to more dive stores than you can count. Some good some fair and sadly some bad. In 2 Deep is definitely in the good category. The owner gave a personal tour and we talked diving for a good half hour. Their rental gear is top of the line and some would say the gear is expensive (if your life is worth $10, spend $10 on life support equipment). As a professional SCUBA instructor for over 30 years I can tell you place has everything you need. Street parking only and mind the meeter. read more

I don't normally leave reviews like this but I had to share my subpar experience at this dive shop. I wanted to get my regulator serviced prior to a dive trip in Hawaii. I was quoted over the phone (roughly $200) the pricing was a bit more than another shop but I wanted to stay local and support a local business. The staff was very friendly as was the owner that I met. They inspected my regulator and told me that the octopus needed to be replaced. Every octopus was $200-$300. I pointed out a cheaper one they had in the back but it still ended up being $150. I complied and didn't want to make a big deal as I wanted to give them the business. They took my gear after my purchase and told me it would take about a week to get it serviced. I received a phone call a few days later that the service was done earlier than expected. I brought my bcd in to make sure everything was working. I hooked it up to a tank and to test my gear set. As soon as I turned the tank on, there was an instant rush of air coming from one of the "serviced" stages. Again, I didn't make a seen or voice any frustration. I told them it wasn't a big deal, and I packed my things to head out. Before leaving, they mentioned that my dive comp housing needed to be replaced, which again I complied with. I came back again a third time once the servicing was finally complete. This time, the owner didn't greet me and the first staff member that I had been dealing with wasn't in the shop. A new staff member came and assured me everything was working fine. I tested the gear and it seemed alright at the time. The second bill came, and I noticed that they had added a few extra charges on there. My $200 quote had become over $400. I wasn't happy about any this but I paid and packed everything up. To top it off, they didn't even thank me upon leaving which I found rude. I arrived on my dive trip and I unpacked my carry-on dive bag. I hooked up my gear and then I noticed an issue with my dive computer. The housing that had been replaced and "serviced" wasn't They attached properly and it wasn't even usable (see photo) I didn't want this to ruin my trip to Hawaii so I ended up renting gear from the dive shop out there After all that, I spent over $500 on gear and I didn't even get to use my own gear. Find yourself another dive shop and don't waste your time and money here. I only gave a second star because the staff was friendly. read more

The best is, they don't push you hard on sales and they really listen to your needs, while still educating you. Did my re-certification after many years away from diving and the staff was understanding and very supportive. Their connection with PADI for the e-learning was very easy as was coordinating the in-office class and in-water dives (all done at Catalina). On the Open Water cert dives, all staff were all very professional and helpful. They've got a good system in place to get from Long Beach and back with no problems. I am not a good swimmer or snorkeler and my husband is great at both. Heading to a recent snorkel destination we decided to purchase our own gear instead of relying on the locations to fit us (Covid and all that). The people here were fabulous; knowledgeable and so helpful. They met both of our needs with care and thoughtfulness and were conscious of price since we obviously aren't major snorkelers who will be out every weekend and need the very newest gizmos. Dive shop itself is okay, but there are undoubtedly much better shops you can go to in the area. I have gone through multiple certification courses and worked with various shops both around LA and outside the US. This was undoubtedly my worst experience. The lady sitting behind the front desk was incredibly cold and dismissive, and there was a complete lack of communication regarding scheduling for certification dives. The limited availability of dives was only communicated after we had signed up and paid for the course. After much back and forth, we ended up switching to a different shop and had a much better experience. If you want to get your scuba certification during the summer I recommend you take your business elsewhere. read more

The new space has a gear showroom, a class area , tank stations and as well as a repair shop. They helped me out with mask fitting and were helpful with free diving specific gear. My wife and I started with a basic scuba certification and have since gotten our advanced cert and Nitrox all with In2Deep. Just got back from an amazing amazing trip with In2Deep in Cozumel, Mexico. I cannot say enough great things about Carrie, Nick and the entire shop's planning of this trip and how it went. It was one of the best, if not the best, dive trip I have ever had. I used to dive a lot when I was younger and it has been many years without diving. When my new boyfriend decided to start diving, I was really excited. Carrie and Nick helped us get gear and did all the planning for the trip. Nick knows pretty much everything about scuba gear from intro stuff to advanced tech, and I felt really comfortable with his suggestions. On our trip, the hotel was literally on the beach next to the dive shop! We had a five minute walk to the dive shop which kept all of our gear organized and ready overnight, a 100-foot walk to the boat, with all of our air and a 15-minute ride to the dive sites. Several of the dives (drift dives over beautiful reefs and walls) ended right in front of the hotel. The after-dive activities were great, a beautiful pool, lush jungle gardens and excellent meals. The hotel rooms were large and immaculate, extremely quiet, nice granite floors, a free mini-bar and excellent air conditioning. Carrie had assembled a fantastic group of travellers with all ranges of experience and we had great discussions into the night. AND THEN MY BOYFRIEND PROPOSED! I'm sure not everyone will have the dream vacation that I had with In2Deep but I can't wait to go on another one with them! If you are looking for a dive shop with a friendly family attitude, intensely personal service and a global outlook, this is your place. read more

Carrie was awesome! I had a very short amount of time to obtain my scuba certification for a trip to Vietnam and she was able to get me in a class the same week I called. She walked me through the whole process and made sure I had all the right gear (and helped me color-coordinate it ). The class was amazing. Wow...really great shop with very cool inventory. The owners are really "in 2" their business. The retail portion of the store is stocked with top quality equipment and accessories. But keep in mind that it's more than retail. The equipment from the rental department is brand new and top quality and for the same price as other shop's old/salty equipment. The third spoke in their wheel is classes. The owner, Carrie, has a stellar reputation in the dive community. She can teach all ages, and she knows where and when to go.
