From my very first interview with Danielle, I felt incredibly welcomed--and the rest is history. ITL has hosted extravagant events, but more importantly, it has introduced me to some of my closest friends. Through this group, I've taken trips, celebrated birthdays and holidays, and even had the honor of officiating my best friend's wedding--someone I met through ITL. One thing I appreciated from the start was ITL's clear distinction that it's not a dating site. This is an awesome group to join for single professionals. The local events are so much fun and even better are the trips planned. I have been to Ireland, Cabo, Thailand and soon St. Lucia with folks from all four locations across the the country. They make traveling so much fun, events planned at the various countries and incorporating learning about the culture in a fun way. I've been able to connect with and reconnect with folks on trips. This group has gotten me out of the house and out of the country which is why I remain an active member. read more

This is the worst organization, and the rudest organization that I have ever dealt with in my life. I was just called the psycho and have been called extremely nasty names throughout the entire involvement with this organization. If you're looking for a singles organization, please do not use this one. You will regret it, and especially for the exorbitant amount that they are charging. If I could leave less than one star review, I would definitely do it. These people should no longer be in business much less doing what they're doing. Love love love this group! I joined in Seattle initially because I didn't know anyone in the city, and it was a great way to meet people though activities. I also went to Ireland with this group and it was something I would have never done by myself as an introvert. Now I just moved to Austin, and I'm attending activities to re-establish a social group. I moved to Seattle three years ago and joined this group in the beginning of 2020 - mainly to get out and do fun things. Since then I have met a great group of singles with similar interest and have seen many places in the Seattle area on events from river tubing, lake union boat cruise, brunch, socials, bowling, hiking, and meet and greets. I wish that Yelp had a longer character limit so that I could explain a bit more, but here are the basics: Base Contract: 12 months = $2,395 Registration Fee (24 or 36 month options available for more money) "Special Deal": 12 months + 6 bonus months = $1,995 Registration Fee Membership Dues: $25 per month, regardless of which contract you choose Grand Total for Special Deal and Membership Dues: $1,995 + 18($25) = $2,445 You can put down any lump sum upfront to lower your monthly payments, so at most if you put $0 down then it would be $135.83 per month over 18 months. What I didn't fully realize when I signed up is that the only thing you get for the $2,445 is access to see their schedule. You can't go to any of the events unless you pay more money per event that you want to attend. Basic meet-and-greet events are about $10 each and the average event is around $35 or less, but some of the upper end events and trips can be exponentially more than that. In my opinion, events that are $20 or less should be free for any member to attend so that it doesn't feel like you're being triple charged (Registration Fee + Membership Dues + Event Fee). They recommend that you attend 3-4 events a month, but that ended up not working for my schedule since I work non-standard hours. The staff are very good at communicating when events are, but being charged so much each month was a bit discouraging. They usually host events between Kirkland and Tacoma, which is about a 40 mile stretch. It's good that they vary the location since people from all different places around this area sign up, but considering that I live a little further north, Seattle and Bellevue were about as far south as it's practical for me to travel to go to an event. One of the policies that I found a bit odd is that if you begin dating someone within your contract term then you are technically still single. The only thing that makes you not single is getting married. They do have the option to convert your membership to a Couple's Membership if you start dating someone, but that type of membership has about a third of the events planned as the regular ITL membership and has a far smaller member base. About four months into my membership I had to switch jobs, which unfortunately paid a bit less and on top of that I had to start paying for my own health insurance. I decided to keep my membership just to see how things would turn out financially, plus I knew that if I asked to cancel then they would probably put up a fuss. Four months after that, health insurance had a significant price increase and I had started dating someone, so I decided to ask about cancelling the membership. They put up a fuss. According to the contract, there are only a few ways to cancel the membership in term. If you get married, then your membership automatically ends. Another way to cancel is if you move more than a 100 mile radius away from the ITL office in Bellevue, which essentially means out of western Washington. I consider that to be excessive. The last way to cancel your membership is if "You die." That's verbatim all it says for that reason to cancel. So, because I hadn't moved to Canada or the Great Beyond, I wasn't eligible for cancellation, despite letting them know that my money would be better spent if it were redirected to my health insurance. In making a case of fairness and consistency for all members, they said that they had to stick firmly to their cancellation policy, no exceptions. I do understand to an extent making things fair for everyone, considering the contracts that I've worked with in my industry, but I also know that great customer service is built on making occasional exceptions. Another indirect way of 'cancelling' your membership is by transferring it to another person. It's nice that they have this option, but considering that I don't know a ton of people around here it wasn't so practical for me. Finally, I went with a different option. They said that if I paid off the remainder of my balance as a lump sum (what was left of the Registration Fee plus Membership Dues for the months left of the contract) then they would give me a 20% discount. Financially, that was the option that made the most sense so I went for it. During negotiating that, they did try to treat the six bonus months as required months, but I was able to convince them that they were in fact bonus months that could be declined, meaning that I didn't have to pay the membership dues for them. Overall, the people who run ITL are nice and I'm glad that I tried it, but I'm disappointed that I didn't get hardly anything out of it despite paying so much into it. ITL is best for people who have plenty of extra money and a gung-ho attitude, and if you're hesitant about signing up in the first place then I would recommend holding off, since if it ends up not working for you then you're kind of stuck with it. read more

I wish I never met these people. Worst decision ever signing up with them. Way over priced and when you go to the events some of the members who work with In the Loop, if they see you are shy or feeling awkward they won't step in, they have already formed their cliques. So i'm paying for people to be standoffish towards me. It's the same people that show up over and over. Alot of these events are totally cheesy. Kara is someone I hope I never have to deal with again. I don't like her business practices, I find her unethical and not a good business owner. read more

When I'd 1st joined almost a year ago, the events are planned in all, but this service is too pricey plus you still got to pay for events on top of that plus parking fees at some places which is a rip-off to park if the events are in downtown Seattle. Good events fill up quick, so I didn't get to go to one due to it being full. Most of the time I haven't been going to events because if you're NOT a outgoing people person, with me I just don't seem to fit in. The staff & service seems mediocre is the word. When my term is up I'm done. These people are okay, but I just don't belong here. This works for some people, but I am just NOT compatible with the other members, so after about a few months my ship has sailed here, but the events I did go to I've enjoyed some of them while they lasted. read more

I only made it to the interview stage. The ENTIRE thing was pushed as a dating experience, which would be great if that's what it was originally marketed as. I was told many many times that the owner needed girls in my age group.....essentially telling me that if I pay the fee (which is basically over a month's rent at minimum) I'd meet that "special someone". When I told the owner that I needed to look over my finances she made it very clear that it if someone wasn't willing to sign the dotted line and commit to the fee (by the way the only way to cancel is to leave the state even if you meet someone) then it wasn't for them. The main message I got was "sign and pay or leave". This company is anything but professional and NOT WORTH the $2k plus in fees read more

I joined In the Loop 5 months ago and am so glad I did! I am an active person who likes to have adventures and be social on the weekends but I was tired of dealing with the Seattle Freeze and lack of commitment from friends. In The Loop is not a match-making service, but rather a social club that brings together fun people interested in similar activities. I love the fact that I can just show up for well-planned events and have a good time. There are events every day of the week for all interests and age groups. From active events (e.g., paintballing, white-water rafting, high-ropes course, etc.) to parties (e.g., bar crawls, food tours, house parties, etc.) to extended travel trips and sporting events - there's something for everyone. I've finally been able to cross some things off my bucket list thanks to ITL coordinating the event and bringing people together (skydiving anyone?!). Although everyone at the events is single, there isn't pressure or competition to find a date. I enjoyed being able to see people at multiple events to build a friendship instead of the awkwardness of first dates. I joined In the Loop 5 years ago and it has been one of the best things I could have done for myself! I was new to Seattle, had maybe 2 friends, and wanted to explore everything the area has to offer. Fast forward and I have met so many incredible people - many I now call dear friends and have done so many things I would have never done on my own. Not only have I explored the Seattle area with the group but I've also had the opportunity to travel as well - Ireland, the Bahamas, and Italy....next is Greece in just a few months! In the Loop is a great way to meet a new circle of friends in the Seattle Area. There is always a great turn out out the events and most people I have met are friendly and eager to make connections. I'm 41 and I have met friends in the 20's and the 50's. I'm really busy and the calendar is easily accessible and I live in Kirkland, so there are several things planned in my area. I think that you have to go to the events to really make a clique of friends. If you go one time, it's hard to get more out of it than remembering a name or two. My membership costs me about 80 bucks a month and I spend about $20 on events every month so it's been affordable. I like it. I will be renewing. read more

After filling out a brief online contact form, I was hammered every single day with a new overly chipper sing and dance to call Tiffany / Amber / Madison back. Now I know why. A huge waste of money. I went to quite a few events when I first joined, and contrary to what they tell you, I wasn't introduced by their rep to any of the other people at the events. People who already knew each other from previous activities weren't welcoming at all, and seemed put off if I tried to join their conversations. The worst part is I had to move to Georgia to help my parents out. I explained to Kara and the rest of the staff that I wouldn't have a lease or utility bill as I would be staying with them. I offered to send copies of my driver's license, paystub, bills, etc., all of which show I am in Georgia and not in Washington. They were completely unwilling to accept that and said I had to have a lease or utility bill. So, fine, annoying, but whatever. I asked multiple times when my last payment was, and was repeatedly told August. I even confirmed that in July. So today, I call to ask how to stop getting all the emails, and they tell me, "oh, by the way, you still have one more payment in September". I called bullshit, and they said the person who told me August must have miscounted. I talked to three different people. Are you telling me all three of them miscounted, but now suddenly you can count?? And they still aren't willing to just let this last month go even though they gave me incorrect information repeatedly, and won't accept that I'm not in WA. It's total crap, and while I was impressed with Kara when I first met her, I find her unwillingness to compromise even a little on this is just bad business, and the reason I'm writing this review. read more

When I first joined In the Loop, I had good experiences. I even met my future husband in the group, however it took ten months, a lot of events and awkward people with little to no social skills before I met him. Things started to get weird when I noticed the caliber of people that were being signed up changed considerably. I started hosting events for Kara and that's when she told me about two of the newer members. One was mentally challenged and had taken a bus all the way to the office, only to be ripped off knowing full well that someone like that would not be successful in the group. When her dad called and complained and said they needed to refund her, he was told no and that they signed her up so they wouldn't be discriminating against her. Seems like a poor business practice and a fast way to make a buck from someone that might not know any better. I'm not sure if they ended up refunding her, but just signing her up is cause for alarm. One of my other poor experiences was the camping overnight in July of 2016. One of the event hosts hooked up with another member that night. Now you can imagine how irritating that is when I work in a professional industry and know that you should never mix business with pleasure. That was about two months into my membership and I almost started to regret that I had signed up if the employees of the company were getting first pick of the merchandise. I mean, it's not a cheap group and the members pay for the salaries of each of those employees. Highly unprofessional. That employee and I exchanged some words and I eventually got over it, but it left a very bad taste in my mouth. Then let's talk about New Year's Eve this year. We just happened to be meeting a couple friends at the bar that In the Loop had reserved space in for the group. Being that I still had friends in the group (my membership was complete by that point), my fiancé and I said hi and asked Kara if we could offer assistance. She said she didn't really need any help but offered to let us say hi to the group, etc. We did, but we also were back and forth into the main area of the bar. It was almost impossible to get a drink so we had very little to drink that night. Around 11:45, we went back into the room, my fiancé went to go talk to Kara's husband as someone from outside the group came into the private room. Now a good marketing person would have taken the opportunity to sell the group to this person, but Kara went to go patrol the door and kick the person out. On accident, my fiancé got in her way. He tried to apologize, but instead had to deal with Kara yelling at him in front of the entire room of members saying how uncomfortable that made her feel. Come on, that could have happened anywhere like the grocery store or shopping mall. Her reaction was excessive and unprofessional. That night she also was talking poorly about another member, basically making fun of him. I will say that I made a couple of really good girlfriends and found a husband in the group, but the attitudes and work ethics of some of the employees is horribly unprofessional. Lastly, their emails (which I still get even though I'm not a member anymore) and their event calendar (from what I remember) have terrible grammatical errors or poor spelling. I was very skeptical to join In the Loop. I have lots of hobbies and a large circle of friends. But I found myself being the only single person in my social group and I hate meeting people online. When I joined, I was surprised how many friends I made immediately and the events they plan are well thought out and fun. The majority of the people I have met within their organization have been happy with the group. The staff makes it clear that they will not set people up on dates, but I have gone out with several attractive women in the group and find it's easy to connect with people at their activities. I recommend meeting with them and seeing if there program is right for you. read more

I'm so glad I joined In the Loop Singles. After trying to meet people on Match and Meetup sites, I found out about In the Loop from a friend at work. He joined early last year and really loved their activities. I joined about 4 months ago and since then I have made more friends in the last 4 months than I have in the last 3 years living in Seattle. The staff is really awesome and they always have fun things planned and nice members. I have dated a few people I have met through the group, but more importantly, I have met a new group of close friends who are also single like me. I pay a little more than I would for an online dating site, but it's worth it to meet other professionals. Thumbs up. read more

I would give this place a 0 star. I signed for a year membership and toward the end of my membership i was about to move out of their 100 mile radius clause. I contacted the company and was told that i needed to send in documentation of my move and the company stated that the lease i provided was not sufficient and i needed to send a license change or an electric bill. I was told i signed a 12 month lease but was given a discount that spanned over 18 months. I was then informed that my membership would be up in feb and i was moving in the july so that meant that i would be refunded 6 months or so of my money but that was not the case. I emailed the company a few times. The understanding that i was getting a refund was spelled out in the emails until all my documentation was given and then i was informed that my membership was going to be over in aug not feb although i paid over a 18 month timeframe. I called to talk to one of the women in charge she was not professional on the phone. she was not easy to understand what the issue was between why i couldn't get my membership money back. Overall i would not recommend this circle to join. Some of the events were not covered by the membership fee which was the annoying part. What was the membership fee for? clearly the women running this company are out for their own best interest and could not care about the members. This company is a scam and you will be disappointed. DO NOT JOIN THIS CIRCLE IT IS JUST A LOOP HOLE AFTER LOOP HOLE TO STEAL YOUR MONEY!!! read more

Join! Great service. Good people. Fun events. I have had a great experience being a member of In the Loop. People need to know that they are not a service for dating- so you are on your own to meet someone. But there are huge groups of singles that attend the events so it's easy meeting new friends. You will meet more single friends than you have had since college. It costs more to join a gym than In the Loop. read more
