These guys are amazing. We had our 1943 mid century house completely rewired by them as part of a remodel, including adding recessed lighting and new fixtures. They were prompt, responsive , on time . The electricians who were at the house were friendly, careful about our furniture and pleasant to deal with. Couldn't be happier and would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone looking for an electrician. 6 months later when we had a lightbulb that was shorting out often on the porch , they sent someone to promptly look at it to confirm there was no wiring issue. Problematic service. My 86 year old auntie hired In-House to install outdoor security lighting at her home in Ballard. Should have been a simple job... Alas, after two service visits, the lighting still doesn't work. And now, they will not return her phone calls. She is a fantastic lady, a good client, and has paid her Bill jn full. I had In-House look at our older but still trouble-free breaker box after one company, which had just installed a new light fixture, said we needed to replace it, warning that it could catch fire. Scared but suspicious, I got a second opinion from In-House, which determined that there was absolutely nothing wrong. They get my business next time. read more

So what can you say about an electrician, except that they are clean right? John called and then showed up and actually listened to what I said to him. He felt he understood and in fact seemed to do exactly that! He worked diligently on my issue(s) until he came up with a diagnosis....I was stuck dealing with the power company....as my problem was outside the house. BTW, after he left, he called and asked me a question and said, I am coming back to check one more thing....hell he was almost home even. He came back did check the thing and said "yep! it is outside your house!" I have never felt better about a service person working on my house....how rare is that? I've used them a few times in the past. I've found that they often recommend way more than needed. I've encountered a couple of times where they said they needed to rewire the entire house because the outlets are not grounded. After discussing with a few other electricians, I was told that adding GFCI's would solve the problem. I'm not an electrician but having multiple other professionals tell me that GFCI's would do the trick, it appears that they are just trying to take advantage of people. Additionally, the last 2 times I've made an appointment with them they never showed up. One of the times they didn't even call me to let me know. My client and I were waiting for them at the house. I had to call them to find out what was going on. They said the electrician had to go home early. The most recent time (last week) they had the same excuse. At least they called. I know things happen but this is very unprofessional. I won't be using them in the future. read more

In-House Electrical Services, specifically Brandon, installed a rather complicated dining fixture for my wife and me. It is an LED fixture with dimmer and warm and cool settings on a remote. The original box (in a wooden ceiling) had to be moved to center over the table among other challenges that are beyond my capabilities. The work was done efficiently and for the price quoted. They were able to perform the task within a couple of days after making the appointment for, what I feel, was a very good price. I would have In-House do more work in a heart beat read more

They did good work but wouldn't finish the job. They installed an exhaust fan, the guy doing it was great and did good work, but they were supposed to come back and put in a variable speed controller. That was part of the original request and bid, but they wouldn't come back and take care of it. Stupid me for paying them after the first day, I even gave the worker a nice tip. read more

This review is a year late but nevertheless I feel the need to report. The sockets are still the same. I look at them every day. We're looking for someone to do some electrical work on our bathroom remodels. These guys popped up. It finally made me respond. Their work for us was pretty intensive last year. Upgrade panel, replace outlets, and wire new kitchen remodel. Parts OK most not. My 1 star reflects their unwillingness to fix their measuring errors. We ended up with uneven sockets. Some up some down. None are even. VERY noticeable after the tile was installed. Also one of their technicians ended up ruining a shelf in our breakfast bar due to the improper placement of a conduit for a outlet at the end. The cutout for it was placed incorrectly, was totally noticeable, made the shelf unadjustable and looked like it was cut out with a ax. Our cabinet person replaced the shelf, placed the cut out in the right spot and it looked neat as a pin when he finished, at no cost. Lots of discussions with this company about responsibility. They want to blame the floor moving (our floor stayed the same it was not replaced) or it was the tile installers fault. They're the professional electricians. You think they could measure and place the sockets uniformly. Pretty basic part of the job you'd think . The remedy we requested was to get a tile person to remove the tile, In-House would move the boxes and then replace our tile. Everybody makes errors. Own it, fix it, and move on. It was removing less than 3-4 tiles per socket plus some accent tile on 2-3 sockets. The rest we would've let go. Close enough so to speak. What's sad is one of their workers is a guy our daughter went to high school with. No quality control whatsoever! Our error was hiring this company for thousands of $ and expecting professional workmanship and accountability. YUK!! read more

Company did not follow-up after initial inquiry concerning dead outlets in our home. Eventually we spoke with Patrick, but would not provide a firm appointment date or time. Red flag, but stuff happens so after a few days I called again and after some back and forth got an appointment time. The electrician arrived late afternoon and, after a little time "troubleshooting," the electrician told us the problem was behind the walls and there wasn't enough time to do ANY actual work that day. He wanted to come back and do the actual work at hourly rate with 'who knows how long' estimate, plus the wall cuts would need to be repaired. So we were charged $207 for the visit and preparation of a "basic" time and materials quote for the next visit. Net result is we lost a week and paid $207 for nothing. Then, true to form, they said they would call to schedule the repair but NEVER called to schedule the time/date to come back and do the work. If it smells rotten, it probably is rotten. We called another company and am so so glad I had the sense to not allow them to cut open my house. Felt like a fleecing to us but may have been just absolute incompetence, but either way our experience was very negative and we would never call them. read more

I initially called In House Electric on June 6th, I called several electricians and these guys were the only ones to call back. My husband has minor surgery on the 6th and when my son brought him home half the house did not have power. Dan from In House came out problem shot the issue and got us back up and running. We had been concerned about the Amp box because it seemed to be making noise and it was very old. Dan gave us a quote on replacing it, I did some research and decided to have it replaced. I called set up an appointment. I was told that someone would be at our house at 8 AM, I have been told that before and have had to wait. Not this time at 8 am Adam was at our house to get started. He kept me updated on the progress of the work. He put down plastic so he didn't get the carpet dirty and he cleaned up so well I wouldn't have known anyone was working down stairs, except the very obvious new Amp box. If I ever have any more electrical issues I will be calling In House. The employees were polite and very professional. read more
