Nich Jacob's shop in Newcastle sounded perfect. To put it succinctly, Nich knew what the problem was, fixed it quickly, didn't charge near as much as I expected and he let me watch. Also, he had a client when I got there whom he fixed up and then he took me immediately. Now, I'm back home in Norman and my little Samsung is sitting on its charger and it's up to 80% already. I learned a couple of things while I was watching him work. One, I'll never take the back off a smart phone and try to fix it, they're way too complicated! And two, since he can do this to every kind of phone, Newcastle has a phone genius in their town.

There is stuff is laying EVERYWHERE. There was no greeting when we entered, you don't know where to stand or if the person you're talking to even works there, and it's a maze of mess. I explained what was going on with my watch "the touch doesn't work anymore." He doesn't say how much it could be to repair or if I even wanted him to try. He just took my watch and assumed the sale. He said he'd text me in a bit. I mean good on you but it was weird and awkward. I waited 2 hours to hear from him but I had to follow up only to her "screen touch doesn't work." Exactly what I told him in the beginning LOL. He said it would be $160 to repair for something that I already knew was wrong with it. I wish he would have just told me the price at the beginning so I didn't have to come back. When I did finally make it back there wasn't a "thank you, if you need anything come back," nothing... but "what's your work number." I can't speak to his abilities to repair things but the place looks a mess and customer service is meh. I normally don't leave reviews for every sub par experience I have but this time I wasn't impressed because my time was wasted all because he didn't listen to what I was saying.

I came back two days later, no battery. So the tech called their other store at 7401 S Shields Blvd ste e, Oklahoma City, OK 73149. They had the battery in stock, so away I went--with a card in my pocket for a free tempered glass upgrade to make up for my troubles. The store at 7401 S Shields Blvd ste e, Oklahoma City, OK 73149 made fast work of the install and I was out the door and on my way in less than 30 minutes. However, they forgot to tape down the new battery and by a week later it was clunking around in the case. Since I was out of town, I had to go to a different iphone repair place to fix that problem (the out of town repair shop didn't charge me, so it was more of the hassle than anything that earns these folks only 3 stars).

We had first tried Best Buy. They made sure that our charger cord wasn't bad, but that is where their troubleshooting knowledge ended. They wanted to send it off somewhere, get a quote for repair, have it repaired, then ship it back to us. They do absolutely nothing in house. So.. we left there frustrated. On our drive back home we found Affordable. We stopped in and Eli checked the cord, fiddled here and there and the laptop was up and running literally in minutes. He also restored my wife's paper, then sent us on our way. Turns out, all it needed was a "battery reset". I highly recommend this business to anyone needing quick and affordable computer repair, Windows or MAC! Bestbuy Geek Squad absolutely sucks.
