After diagnostics, we were told the noise was from the CV axles (and that brakes were also needed). We agreed to replace only the axles, quoted at $1,600+, and were told the car would be ready Monday or early Tuesday. From there, communication completely broke down. We received no proactive updates. Multiple calls were routed through an AI system with no callbacks. When I finally reached a person, I was told the staff member handling our car had been out sick and that parts were delayed due to a storm. Totally understandable -- but no one called us, despite us coordinating work, school, therapy appointments, and Uber with one car. We were then told the car would be ready Wednesday, but again received no call. On Wednesday, we were told one axle never arrived and repairs would be done Thursday -- again, no prior notification. When I picked the car up Thursday and paid $1,500, the exact same noise was still present within a quarter mile of driving. I immediately returned. After initially being told it was due to not replacing the brakes (it was not a braking noise), they test-drove the car and then said the real issue was a gunked-up timing chain/belt, which they "fixed" with another oil change and flush. The noise stopped. That raises a serious concern: why were $1,500 axle replacements done when the original issue was misdiagnosed and resolved with an oil change? Had this been correctly identified, we would have made very different decisions. Between the misdiagnosis, repeated missed timelines, lack of communication, and unnecessary expense, this experience was extremely frustrating and left us without confidence in the work performed.

Unfortunately, due to the Ford factory seal or whatever () we had to take it to Ford. Where we paid $2200 in labor and $400 in parts/repair. For honest auto repair, go to Edwards. Wonderful people.

My oil pan gasket leaks a ton of oil, and when I took it back to get it fixed, they blamed the leak on my oil pressure sending unit. When I got the car home, I cleaned all the oil off and the only leak was from the rear of the oil pan. The transmission work I had done they completely messed up. I had the bellhousing replaced, clutch fork replaced, and some other stuff. Recently, I noticed my clutch pedal feeling very heavy and my transmission started grinding when I shift. I pulled the transmission and found that Edwards hadn't put all the fluid that leaked out when they pulled the transmission. There was only 1.5 quarts, when there should be 3 quarts. And to top it all off, none of the bolts for my clutch where tight. Some were hand tight. Because of Edwards, my transmission is destroyed and I have had to replace it myself, and my clutch which was $1,000, is potentially destroyed. Do NOT take your car here

This past week I had the experience of both the worst and the best in auto care and customer…read moreservice. I will not name the repair shop that provided me with the worst service: I am busy trying to recoup the money I spent when they broke my car. However, I want to thank and commend Tupperway Auto for redeeming my faith in mechanics and honest businesses in our Summerville area. I went to the worst shop as a loyal customer who had spent $1,200.00 in prior repair work for my elderly 2003 Toyota in the past 18 months. I simply requested that the a/c system be charged and freon added. The mechanic did it promptly. However, within a few days the switch turned on my a/c erratically. I returned and requested an evaluation. The result was demoralizing: the office manager (not mechanic) provided me with the news that my compressor, condenser and extremely labor intensive expansion valve needed replacement. The estimate was a whopping $1,999, ! I requested the 25% discount that was prominently posted for all a/c/ service jobs, and the woman told me that she was not authorized to provide that and I would have to wait for the manager. I requested that he call me that afternoon before I proceeded to authorize the repair, as I had some questions and wanted to confirm the discount. Fortunately I obtained another estimate from Tupperway. I spoke with Todd, who gave me a tentative estimate based upon a telephone conversation and my description of the repairs needed. The estimate to repair the a/c was 1/2 of the first shop, and I scheduled the repair. To my shock and delight, Todd called me within two hours to advise me that my car did not need a new compressor after all. During the recharge and freon addition, excess ( to the tune of 1/2 pound) freon had been added, which caused the relay switch to break. The total repairs, including another recharge and freon addition, were $258.00. I cannot express my gratitude enough. Not only did Tupperway correctly diagnose my auto problem, but saved me hundreds of dollars. Additionally, because their computer could accurately advise that an excessive amount of freon had been incorrectly added to the car the week prior, causing the relay switch to break, I can now properly request reimbursement from the first repair shop. My father was a franchise owner and superb mechanic who raised a family of five children on his skill and hard work. I have a tremendous respect for honest and professional mechanics. I would recommend Tupperway to anyone with a mechanical problem. Not only can they trust the diagnosis, but also the repair work. Susan Oliver

I called this location when I was dropping Nora off at daycare down the road. They said they could get me right in and to come on over. When I arrived, they greeted me and made me feel like I'd been coming here for years and we were best friends. I discussed the oil change (which kind my vehicle takes, etc). I also brought up that I had a break light out. They told me that was an easy fix (I had the bulb already!) and they'd be more than happy to fix it. They didn't charge an arm and a leg in labor to do so, which was awesome. Some other places wanted close to fifty just to change it... Ridiculous. Their waiting area is small, but it doesn't need to be anything crazy. They offer Keurig coffee and have a TV for you to watch. I definitely recommend this location. It is convenient and they will take good care of you/your vehicle. :)
