We decided to visit once the Pandemic started to wind down. Masks were still the standard, no worries. We hadn't visited for a while and it shows; one major store had closed but the real shocker was the Venetian Carousel was not only closed but completely gone, just gone. Nothing left but a taped-off area; the kid's section was closed off too. I get it; the Pandemic plus a probable decision cut costs. Our "babies" are teenagers now but still it would've been nice to ride once more...ahh well such is life! Still, the mall's a good place as any to visit and shop especially during the summer months. The Imperial Valley Mall is the only indoor mall in the area so it is where you go for any major shopping. We have gone here a number of times to one of the anchor stores. The big department stores here are Macy's, JC Penney's, Kohl's, Sears, and even, a Dilliard's. Dilliard's used to be a favorite but I haven't seen one in years. I haven't made it there but hope to soon. We have been to the other department stores and they seem to have the same as usual. There are a number of smaller stores in the mall, as well, for clothing, accessories, shoes, jewelry, makeup, furniture and home decor. Some I knew were Charlotte Russe, American Eagle, PAC Sun, Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, Kay Jewelers, Zale's, Payless Shoes, Vans, and Party City. There is also a food court with a carousel and various food vendors through the mall such as Burgers and Beers, Auntie Ann's, Cinnnabon's, and Subway. The food court offers Mexican, Chinese, Italian, Juices and Smoothies and some sweet offerings like Raspados, ice cream, and a coffee shop with baked goodies. The mall is great when you are looking for something special and also a good place to get out of the heat in the summer. Parking is huge with plenty of entrances. This mall is very clean. First time here. I like how this mall is not confusing with all the side outlets or circles to lost in. Almost all the stores can be accessed by the main lobby... it's a straight line. This place is so popular, I see a lot of people come here from Mexicali to shop here. I even ran into people from Yuma, AZ here too. I would recommend this place. read more

This mall is horrible and unfortunately is the only mall El Centro has to offer. It has very few stores. It seems like they keep closing stores on the weekly basis. Sad to say but Crenshaw mall in Los Angeles has more stores than this mall. The positive thing about this mall is the AC works and the kids area is clean. read more

Much better than I was expecting. It is actually pretty large. I had only been on the stores on the exterior before this weekend. They had pretty decent stores and good sales. The food court is pretty good as well. (Too bad the carousel isn't operational). There is a theatre. Lots of young, hipster stores and a few bigger anchor stores. Everyone had good sales for Labor Day. They also have a DQ and cool barber shop. There is a also a small arcade for the kiddos, if you have any with you when you are shopping. Found this mall on our drive home from San Diego. My husband wanted to eat at the food court so I made my way around the mall to kill time. The food court didn't offer anything impressive. I ended up spending most oft time at a store where all the clothing items are $10 and under. The items were pretty basic, but cute. I found some tops and bandeaus at a steal. The girls working the store were really nice too. When I got to the car I checked out my purchases and they all smelled like food. Lol. This is probably because the store is directly across from the food court? This mall provides a nice break when you're driving through the middle of nowhere. However, if you never stop here in your life, you're not missing out on anything. read more

Pretty basic mall that caters to much of the Imperial Valley. You have the typical stores here like Macy's, JC Penney, Forever21, Victoria's Secret, etc. and a food court with a variety foods including sandwiches, Chinese food, and Mexican food. Lots of middle school and high school kids find their way to this mall as it is one of the primary places to hang out, particularly since there is a movie theater attached to it. In terms of shopping, you can actually find some great clothes and good deals at a lot of the stores so drop by if you're in the area and have an urge to shop or have some time to kill. read more

This mall is actually really nice! If you have ever drove by the imperial valley or came to visit you would know there is basically nothing to do in this town. But the mall is a great place to stay out of the desert heat! You can window shop, eat, watch a movie at the theater, or shop for anything you might need. I also always find what I am looking for at this mall. Some stores might speak to you in Spanish when you walk in but remember we are super close to the border so I do not be surprised. But walking through the department stores everyone is pretty helpful! The mall also has carpet and is it kept very clean! Overall my experience at this mall is always positive. read more

In short, this mall is excellent for its location. It is one of my favorite malls, and although it lacks in food court options, it makes it up for it in other areas. In detail, my favorite part of the mall is the particular vibe it gets off. I don't know how to describe it, but the people here seem genuinely upbeat. There is a lot of Spanish spoken here, but I've never had a problem communicating with anyone. There are your typical stores, but I really like the fact that it does not have a Walmart attached to it. It's not that there are lack of stores or anything, but I find it to be concise. Other malls will have tons of stores that no one goes to, so I find the Imperial Valley Mall to be a nice change. The mall is freakishly clean, so the groundskeepers who work here should be given props, especially if they have to clean the parking lot because it's clean. Speaking of the parking lot, it's massive. That is my one gripe about any shopping mall, because I hate having to find a parking spot. You're usually only going to hit up a couple of stores, so it's great to have tons of parking for minimal walking. My one complaint is the food court. I found three variations of Chinese/East Asian food, but there are maybe seven options to eat. I ate at the Chinese Cuisine Express place, and I definitely enjoyed the food there. It doesn't seem like the food court gets that many people eating at it, too. I went at lunch time, and I saw maybe 20 people eating. I always get a coffee at Cinnabon, though. I thought this was a great little mall. My friend invited me to go "mall-walking" with her and we've been two days in a row now. It is almost a mile to walk the whole thing corner to corner so they said we walked over two miles in the hour we spent going around it three times. Wow. I'm not much of a walker but I really enjoyed it. My friend has a wonderful sense of humor and kept us entertained the whole walk. I got a great overview of the whole area and stopped in about three stores after walking the second day. Every storefront seemed to be occupied and they had plenty of choices in the food court. I'm not much of a shopping center person but enjoyed my time here and recommend it to others. Nearby are smaller strip malls with Michael's, Bed, Bath and Beyond, etc. read more

How can anyone give this mall more than 3 stars? I am a "Valleyite", and while I will say that I actively partake in shopping here, it's not the greatest shopping mall out there (obviously). This isn't the diamond in the rough for The Valley. Sorry. Sadly, some of the stores inside the mall have closed. Naturally, with the recession, even with all the traffic from the border, Mexicali couldn't keep some of the stores alive. Thankfully, it's not a desolate mall just yet. The people inside the mall are here and there as far as customer service goes. I've had good and bad experiences and I think that varies more with the stores as opposed to the mall itself. The facilities are pretty clean, but it is a relatively new mall. Security is present, but security it as an excuse for law enforcement. People are probably going to address you in Spanish before English, and that's just the way it is out here, no matter how un-American it is. The cinema in the mall is large, and it is well air conditioned for all of you trying to get out of the heat. It's set up so that it opens early, so people can walk the mall for exercise, window shop will doing so, and enjoy the cool air. There is a Burgers & Beer inside the mall, which considering it's the only restaurant actually inside the mall, it's an added comfort. There is a lovely carousel and different kid like attractions that vary through out the year, including a train that goes through the mall. For The Valley, they did well...but this place won't hold a candle to greats like San Diego's Fashion Valley, but it beat's Yuma's outdoor mall (talk about the stupidest decision known to man kind). read more

They have a mall! I grew up in the valley when there was no mall. The mall is a great place to find things you need and want. I wish there was a mall back in the day to hangout. I have to admit, for being where it is, this is a pretty impressive mall. I am from New York, and we have some pretty okay malls around there. But this mall impressed me. I don't usually like malls, but for a time-filler as part of a date night, well, it works. I wouldn't eat here, but the movie theatre is HUGE, and cheap (compared to NY theatres...) and the mall has some nice stores to check out and waste time in. It's not very busy, even on a Saturday, but I guess it's just because it is a very big mall in a relatively low-population area, though I'm sure this will change, over time. read more

This is a nice quiet small mall. It is good size for a city like El Centro. I highly recommend paying them a visit and riding a marry go round and visiting the stores. It's clean and the AC works great. read more

This place is freaking tiny! But I'm pretty sure I'm rating this unfairly since I'm from the OC and I came out here. I know this place is considered "new" and it's also the only mall within an hour drive but really?! Couldn't they do something better? One story mall? That's it? If you're going to be the only mall in the area, at least make it better. The shops here are pretty standard and mall itself doesn't look good at all. No pride in their work or architect whatsoever. This is the mall in the Imperial Valley. It is the new, not-empty mall, as supposed to the empty mall over on Imperial Ave (hint- it has the Starbucks in its parking lot. The anchor stores are lamentable: Dillards? JC Penny? The specialty stores have a certain "Lost in Time" quality: Orange Julius, The Disney Store(!) It's actually a nicer mall then what you would expect the area to have, a testament to the purchase power in nearby Mexicali. read more

Considering the number of people in Imperial Valley that will pay Mall prices I think this is an excellent mall. Macy's & Dillard's have great sales on clothes, in all sizes, since most people in the Valley won't pay full price & only shop discount in the Valley. Maybe when they travel they spend more money but not here. I am glad the mall is here and I wish more people supported in with shopping. I don't want it to die like all of the town's Main Streets. read more

Dillards sucks when it comes to returning clothes; even if you kept the receipt and are well inside the time limit, they still just want to give you store credit. the mall store must not be doing too well, what with too many people realising that crap is overpriced. I'm not a big mall person but was impressed with this mall. For only four years old, it still looks brand new and well kept. I have been to larger city malls before and this one is much better than most (Temecula's for example). Great food court and not too crowded that I have seen on the weekdays. read more

They still have Cinnabon though =) There's a movie theater attached, and very good A/C. Parking isn't a problem unless you're someone who has to be right by the entrance. This Mall has been open since 2005 and still looks fresh. Pride of Imperial Valley. Lotsa good markdowns at Dillard's...one of the anchor stores. It's a good place to spend time with family during the summer if you cannot afford the gas to go to cooler climates like San Diego. Glad the IV Mall is here. read more

This is one of the last, enclosed malls that was recently built in the country, before lifestyle centers became all the rage. It is a wonderful place in the blazing hot Imperial Valley...nice and cool, a large movie theater, food court, several department stores and quite a destination for homebound valley residents and Mexicali tourists on the weekends and holidays. It is new, clean and attractive. A great place to get out and walk around or shop if that is your real need. It is usually very quiet during the week...which can be good if you don't like crowds. read more

Wow, Scott P. is quite the elitist. If you are in the Imperial Valley this mall rocks! Dillards, by the way is an upscale store that is primarily in larger cities. The mall also has a Macy's, Forever 21, great movie theater with 14 screens and many of the same stores as you would find in that town over the hill. It's air conditioned which is needed in this, the hottest spot in the country, and the owners of the mall open it very early in the morning so you can do your morning walking in air conditioned comfort. This mall is expanding all the time with restaurants and shops continuing to open. read more

Above average mall with extra points for location. Has all the proper stores and even some that are unavailable at other malls. Clean and not overcrowded with people. Features a nice movie theatre and fancy carnival merry-go-round similar to the one in Disneyland. Parking is never a hassle. Definitely one of my top 5 malls. read more

This mall gets absolutely no points from me because it's better than expected for the area. It's still a crappy experience. The location is a pain, with only one 'major' traffic-choked road leading to it. Once you're in the vicinity you just have to guess which road will lead you to the part you want because the signs are poorly done. The stores are lower tier, run of the mill, catering to the designer t-shirt wanna be crowd. It's slightly grubby and dark. The walkways are crowded with loud, oblivious shoppers rudely ignoring people who'd like to pass them, as they hold intense family reunions. The stores are routinely out of stock or never had the item in the first place. It doesn't help that customers seem intent upon damaging and/or misplacing the stock. The clerks are often poorly educated about their merchandise and possess sad ideas about what constitutes customer service. While I speak Spanish, it's still irritating to be addressed in another language first. My English-only friends are often SOL if they need help. It's worth the trip to San Diego or even Yuma. read more

the mall is a great place to go spend some time getting out of the heat. imperial valley doesn't have the glamour of san diego or orange county but it isn't far behind. lots of stores in the mall, which is of coarse is an indoor mall, but it also has many establishments such as chuck e cheese, best buy, kohls and several fine restaurants. burgers & beers which is inside the mall is a sports bar of sorts with great great burgers of all kinds. i would of given a 5 star but no water slides nearby. read more
