Best Place to Donate Plasma - ADMA Myrtle Beach…read more I've been donating plasma for several years across different states, and ADMA in Myrtle Beach is hands down the best. The setup is efficient, the environment is clean, and the staff truly make the experience exceptional. As long as you have an appointment, there's no wait time--you're in and out without hassle. From the moment you walk in, Stephane greets you with a warm smile and friendly energy that sets the tone. Lori is a smooth operator; when she inserts the needle, you barely notice unless you're watching. She doesn't keep you waiting either; she gets you started quickly and wraps things up just as fast. And then there's Keirah. I'm convinced she has clones; she's everywhere! Greeting you at the front, taking your vitals, helping you get set up to donate, and jumping in wherever she's needed. When other staff need help, they call on Lori and Keirah, and it shows how much they're trusted. This place runs like a well-oiled machine with awesome people who care. If you're thinking about donating plasma, ADMA Myrtle Beach is the place to go. This place runs like a well-oiled machine with awesome people who care. Art was great, not to mention a good conversationalist. Although they were short staffed, both him and his female co-worker did what they had to with a cheery attitude and making our donations feel more than worth it. I recommend giving here when you can. It's a clean, warm atmosphere. Thank you all for doing this with such positivity each day!

Each time has been pleasant and professional, regardless of how many people are there to donate. Today, I made an 11:15 appointment online the night before (and I was glad I did-- there were only two available appointment slots all day long!). I didn't do the Fast Pass question-and-answer preparation beforehand. I have in the past, but this time I didn't feel like getting out my laptop. This time, however, they told me it can now be done on an iPhone, which will be good to know for my next visit. I was the only one there when I arrived, and two phlebotomists were working. While Latoya was getting me prepped, though, three more donors came in. All were handled quickly and efficiently. I was in at 11:15 and out at 12:15. No pain, no problems, just a pleasant experience I'll be happy to repeat in 8 weeks. Thank you, American Red Cross!

I used to give plasma and one time there was an issue with a clog during the process... ever…read moresince... and a year later... I get turned down bc they claim my vein is too difficult to stick. It seems like they have me flagged now. I've tried to go elsewhere and I get evaluated and rejected and do there must be a note in the data base. Well it was fine for quite a number of visits so it's an unfair prejudice. I recommended 3 friends and a family member who still go.

CSL Plasma is conveniently located in a safe part of town with plenty of parking around the…read moreshopping center. The staff here is extremely kind and the facility is sterile. Inside the place is cold and open with plenty of machines to "hook up to" however this is where the platitudes stop. First, it's not clear that your first month of giving, the patient is rewarded roughly $100 per visit up to 5 visits (this varies based on your weight). Next you can give only twice a week but isn't clear is that if you get sick or anything that pushes any visits past the month, you'll be rewarded around half the amount per visit. Also, the amount after your first month is roughly 50% of the initial visits. Next the time to give is outrageous. When the patient walks in, there's a machine that asks roughly 30 questions. From there you'll be funneled into a health check line that can take up to an hour, depending on how many nurses are in the 4 stations (typically it's 2 or 3). After taking vitals another line awaits where it can take yet another hour while you wait for a seat at the machines. Mind you there's no chairs so you'll be standing the whole time. My personal experience isn't great with the staff which isn't a slight rather who has the expertise to help me. I'm fit for my age yet my veins are "deep and roll" which means only two of the nurses there can hit them normally. One can imagine the "fun" I have when a vein is missed and has to be re-entered or worse, they dig to find it. Out of my 7 visits I've only been able to give a whole bottle 4 times and here's where the communication wasn't clear. I was told if I wasn't able to give 3x in a row, I'd be up for review. We'll that isn't exactly true as if you cant give a certain amount per month and/or they miss a lot then you'll be under review. Honestly, I could care less now as I'm tired of being helpful. Also there are 3 rows of beds but one isle is never used, thus the long wait time. I'm not sure if there are other facilities but this branch isn't great and I won't be back. They're always behind, the average weight time is over 2.5 hours, the rules and regulations aren't clear and very few are on an expert level with a needle. After I've had over 13 operations and 8 procedures my heart desires to give back and help. However it it's too difficult I'll either stop or find other alternatives.
