I don't believe you have to like art to enjoy it, but I do believe you have to enjoy experiences to be able to appreciate it. The location is a little off-putting, but the building is perfect for it. As soon as you come-in, there's security and metal detectors, then you pay for parking $5, why? I don't know, they should have just built it in to the ticket price. After that, depending on your ticket level, you go to different stanchion lines, but end up at the same entrance. Some have cushions, some have chairs and some (like me) find a bench inside or sit on the floor. Once you're in the exhibit, find your spot. We moved away from the entrance, closer to the other end of the room and found more space there. I would pick a space between the entrance and exit doors, so you see less traffic. Once in the exhibit, it takes about 20-25 minutes to loop. Move around the space, get different angles, look at the room long-view or up-close. We were able to snag a couple of benches and moved them around with us. There are light-projected circles on the floor to indicate spacing (this exhibit was social distancing before it was a "thing"). The gift shop is well thought-out and has a lot to offer. Overall, pretty cool experience; try it out.

Wouldn't pass this up! Even if you don't know much about art you can enjoy this event with a little bit of prep work using the resources on the app advertised on the event's page called Lighthouse Immersive. Actually, I'd recommend listening to the resources under the "Before You Go" and "At the Show" tab, even if you are somewhat familiar with Van Gogh. The resources introduce you to Van Gogh and explain the pieces of art and pictures in the show and their meaning. You can listen to the 34 minute narration under the "At The Show" tab also while you are the show as another way of experiencing the immersion experience. I strongly recommend listening to these resources before you go because I guarantee you will get so much more out of your immersion experience. I also suggest you get the basic times slot unless you really want the poster and/seat cushion or the flexibility to arrive and enter within two hours of your time slot. Please read what "Flex-time" means. I didn't read it carefully and thought it meant I could stay longer. Everyone can stay as long as you want. Most people stood or sat on a circle or chair or bench and most faced the west wall. I chose to walk around the space and felt like I got a better experience. But some folks can't stand or walk for the length of the production (35 minutes). I stayed through 4 showings of the production. I stood at different places in the space and walked around mostly. I sat for only a few minutes. There is a lot of Van Gogh products for sale. I thought they were a little pricey but everything seems to be inflated right now.

For the most part, this was a really cool synchronization of art and music. I felt very at peace in this large room with Van Gogh paintings coming to life around me. I felt like I was in a painting. Music seemed to fit perfectly and gave me a sense of calm. There were some cons. First: the location.....it is near nothing in Cleveland and you wouldn't just find yourself over here if it weren't for this exhibit. That said the space they used is perfect for it; large and spacious. Second con was the pricing.....I am sure it is costly to put on a large presentation like this, but then tacking on an extra five bucks for parking.....come on, guys. This is a really shitty warehouse area with nothing around. I could mayyyyybe see it if the lot were monitored, but it wasn't even. Just greed here. No one else is going to be needing parking in this area, so just.....why? And if you MUST charge for parking, go ahead and embed it into the price. Maybe made sense in other cities where this exhibit is happening in a very busy city center, but not the case here.....Third con was that masks are required. I mean, I get it.....but everyone is starting to lift restrictions. And there were less than a dozen people in a GIGANTIC room when we were there on a Thursday afternoon. Maybe on the weekend it gets a lot busier. I'm compliant, but I can't wait til this nonsense is over. But the exhibit was beautiful. Perfectly orchestrated. We did not add any cushions or extra add-on bells and whistles and we were perfectly comfortable. Creative work here.

After seeing this advertised for quite some time, I decided to buy tickets when they came around for a buy-one-get-one. If you can avoid it, I would highly recommend waiting for a coupon code or discount. Also, unless you have a serious physical concern, I would suggest skipping the extra fee for the seat cushion as there were plenty of benches when we were there on a Sunday afternoon. With regards to the exhibit, it was a really cool way to view Van Gogh's artwork and listen to some cool music. While I wish they had provided a bit more with regards to a background and history before you entered the immersive experience, I thought it was a unique way to take in the art. I can say that, as an art novice, I really enlisted myself. Like everyone else, I simply wished there was more bang for my buck.

There are mixed reviews around town. I am an art lover so of course I've been looking forward to this event for a while. My honest opinion was that I loved it!!! The visuals and sound experience was so worth it. However, my none loving Art husband was not as thrilled. He got bored after 15min but stayed for two sessions with me - true love. With this being said if you aren't an art lover this might not be for you. If you don't enjoy going to CMA then maybe take that into consideration before spending as much as these tickets were.

This was a very well done exhibit. The music is amazing and you truly feel immersed in the art. I stayed for two rounds of the presentation and could have done a third if they weren't closing for the day. My only complaint would be the $5 for parking and the fact lines to get inside were not we'll marked - I ended up in the VIP area by mistake and wasted time there before finding out where I needed to be. Otherwise, find a lower demand time to visit and save yourself some cash. Enjoy!!!

My husband and I decided to visit the Van Gogh exhibit for my birthday. It was something different that we don't normally do for a date night. It was a bit different than we expected it to be. I know a few friends that went and loved it. I was thinking it would be more of a thing where you walk around and look at a bunch of artwork, but it ended up being a half hour motion picture with music. To be honest, I thought we were watching the show while we were waiting for our reservation time to go look at the artwork. When it was over, my husband asked if I was ready to go and I was confused. I still enjoyed it, but I feel that tickets were pretty pricey for what it was.

Really cool exhibit. It is a 1 room event that is on a continuous 35 minute loop where paintings come alive to a nice soundtrack. They give you a stadium cushion to sit on the floor with during the experience. Didn't see any real Van Gogh paintings while there. I paid $140 including fees and taxes for 2 tickets. In my opinion it wasn't worth it because it's only 1 room that is 35 minutes long, and when you leave the room you enter a gift shop and that's the end. If you can get them under $25 each go for it but the $60 ticket price feels very high.

The building itself is stunning, with great architecture and tons of natural light that makes walking through the galleries feel really open and peaceful. They have works from Monet and other well known artists, which was really exciting to see in person. There's a lot to explore, so I'd recommend setting aside a few hours to really take it all in. Just make sure to plan your timing because they close at 5 PM. The staff throughout the museum were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. There's also a large gift shop with lots of unique items and a cafe inside the museum, which is nice if you want to take a break during your visit.

At these events food alcohol nonalcoholic beverages are served. I say this because most responsible people call Ubers/Rides to pick them up safely, well when the event was over at 10 people picked up there things at coat check and proceeded to the vestibule to wait on their rides and Ubers. This was around 10-10:30 pm and the police that were hired at event forced everyone to stand outside. Keep in mind it was about 6 degrees in Cleveland. I understand the event was over and they had to close but grace should've been given considering the weather. Although the event was nice maybe you shouldn't attend in the winter because they'll put you out.

It's a super cool shape and all glass on the outside. Near it is another giant piece of public art, a big hand. Parking can be a little difficult around the museum as it's a pretty walkable area, but there are a few pay lots within walking distance. The museum is 4 floors I believe and has constantly rotating exhibits. They don't collect or keep any pieces which makes each visit a new experience. The exhibits are typically interesting and sometimes they feature local artists. I've attended a few events here which are usually pretty cool. They have a large open space perfect for a dance floor, wedding, or any type party of event. They also have a cool gallery hall where they usually set-up the bar. You have to bring in for your own events of course. But another cool thing is that the museum is free and open to all Ohio residents Friday-Sunday!

Unfortunately, it really was unimpressive. I'm not a modern art person, but I've seen much better than this. The top of the stairs led to a bizarrely pointless overlook of very little of the interior. The most artsy exhibit had some abstract paintings that looked kind of cool but didn't photograph well. Another floor felt like it was basically a dare to dislike the art, with text framing the artist's identity as if this was very important, but the actual exhibit being childishly unoriginal and aesthetically bankrupt. Maybe future exhibits will be better, but the other reviewers don't give me a ton of confidence about whoever's making creative decisions here. The view of the neighborhood was nice, but I found that I spent barely half an hour trying really hard to get something out of the museum before giving up, and it really wasn't worth the time or money that I spent on it. And it was free!

I've been to my fair share of natural history museums, and while this one is compact, it is very modern and packs a punch! When you enter, you're immediately greeted by a giant dinosaur and that set the tone for the whole visit, I felt like I kept seeing dinosaur bones everywhere! It took me a moment to orient myself to the museum layout, but looking back it's pretty compact and I could've easily wandered and enjoyed most of the museum in a couple hours. I especially enjoyed how interactive the earth section was, and this is silly but sit on those rock-looking cushions - they are SO comfortable! The little planetarium area was also very cool, and I would consider seeing a show in there next time! The dioramas are by far the most beautiful/engaging I've seen, and with between the fish video cave and the outdoor animal area, I felt like I also got a mini trip to the aquarium and the zoo. Overall I had an amazing time and this spot is super baby/toddler friendly! Note: If you have ASTC membership, admission is included! As a non museum member, I'd recommend street parking. It's much cheaper than the flat rate garage fare.
