I can't give it the 5th star for 2 reasons - ehhh 3 reasons.... so really if I could give half stars this would be a 3.5 My expectations were high going in I'll admit but the outside impressions help with that. Selection was extensive and wine and beer wise there were plenty of options but they did not carry a jalapeño tequila that I have been searching for since moving up here that I usually got in Savannah/Hilton Head area. So there's 1 reason. Second reason for deduction was the snobby employees or the I'm too busy for you vibe... not cool. Last reason for hAlf seduction would be that the cool growler station wasn't in service currently. I'm assuming due to Coronavirus but I wouldn't know specifically because no employee tried to offer any help or explaination.... I did take a few pictures for reference for my husband in case he wanted to join the beer club they offer. Walked in here looking for regular old commercial bourbon. I asked for a few pointers at local stuff, and the associate Brock reined his bourbon knowledge upon me. I walked out an expert....WOW. I was so impressed with his knowledge and his recommendations, I ended buying two bottles of Maker's Mark (let me reiterate I DO NOT like Maker's Mark I prefer a few other brands), but after looking and listening to the flavor palate of the bourbon I decided to pull the trigger. read more

The stock levels are embarrassing. It's odd that they're one of the only stores around that has product sold out because "Supplier is out of stock." Unless they have their own distributor, it sounds like they're passing the blame instead of owning up to the inability to keep stock. They used to be more engaging, and would say hi to you when you came in. It just seems an all-around dip in quality and service since they re-opened. I've decided no to go here anymore. I visited a local restaurant that served a plum wine. The waitress told me where I could purchase it. My son and I went to this establishment to get the wine. Upon entering the store there were other non black individuals that came in at the same time. I wasn't even in the door well enough before a young employee can from behind the counter asking if she could help us. I told her no and kept walking. After finding what I came to purchase I looked at other stuff on the way to the counter. Mind you there were other people in the store but we were the only black people. When heading toward the counter I noticed the same employee peeking from behind another wine area at us and following us. I had my son who's a local firefighter return the item to the shelf. I refuse to spend my hard earned money in a place that seem to racially profile black people. Another lady asked me if I found what I was looking for and I told her I did but would not be purchasing it because I didn't appreciate being followed. read more

He was patient, understanding, knowledgable, and the best advisor we could ask for in this process - helping us to decide what quantities would make sense. Imbibe also allows returns of particular unopened spirits, so this was a game changer in feeling confident that we'd have enough supplies for our wedding. Yes, this place has a pretty darn good selection (especially for Chattanooga.) And though they are a bit pricey, it's not so significant that I wouldn't shop here. But seriously, I'm so done with the pretentiousness. More times than not when we stop in, we've been met by employees who give the impression that they're doing us a favor by helping us. This last visit, the kid behind the counter could hardly be pulled from his cell phone for a few minutes to ring us up-- I mean, he was back texting before we even left the store. I used to work in a liquor store (and a pretty effing amazing one, at that) so I know I'm picky. But c'mon, you've got quality products and a beautiful space-- back it up with great service that it deserves! read more

My go to store! I love the organization, the free tastings they do weekly (cocktail recipes, beer and wine tasting and more). But I really love how knowledgeable the staff is. And if you are one of those people who doesn't like to talk, they tag their favorites with a sticker so you know what's down to throw down with (or impress your dog while you binge on Hulu). I have learned so much from this company and love how they support the south and local businesses. They also have a monthly wine club you can join and prices are comparable to the area. Imbibe is a gorgeous wine store. If I were a wine drinker I think I would visit regularly and hang out sampling delicious wine after wine. Alas, I'm not a wine drinker. I was looking for something easy - a solid rum, vodka or tequila w/ a basic organic mixer like Stirrings brand. Unfortunately, Imbibe doesn't carry that quality of mixers (or they were out on my visit.) So then I turned to their selection of flavored rums and while their Bacardi selection was fair, I didn't see a flavor that piqued my interest. So then I turned to old faithful - vodka. I ended up with a bottle of cranberry Deep Eddy which is fine and does not require more than a splash of water to tone it down a bit, but I was disappointed. And another thing.... when I approached the counter, the guy who'd rang up the couple in front of me walked away saying that someone else would ring me up. I wish people wouldn't do that because it feels very rude. I had high hopes for Imbibe based on its rating but next time I'll venture elsewhere. read more

I used to travel to Atlanta to stock the bar... that was until Imbibe opened. Imbibe carries a really great variety of wines, beers, and spirits. What's more is, they hire staff with the knowledge and service to help you find what you are looking for. I have discovered a few "new regular" spirits for my bar after chatting with their staff for a while and getting recommendations on what to try. On a handful of occasions, they have even special ordered items that they don't regularly stock. I visited the store late on a Monday evening close to closing time while on vacation. Even though it was close to quitting time the employees were fully engaged and genuine in their desire to help me. The gentleman in the beer section was very knowledgeable and recommended something that suited my request to a T. After leaving the beer section everyone was exceptionally accommodating, demonstrating a depth of knowledge about spirits I found impressive. Living in Louisiana, we've vacationed in a number of locales throughout the south. Many places take advantage of tourists by raising prices to gouge them - not so here! If you're ever in Chattanooga and looking for a place to whet your whistle, this is the place, hands down! read more

Any time I visit another wine/sprits store in Chattanooga out of 'convenience,' I'm always struck by how much better my experience always is at Imbibe. From your great pricing, to your knowledgeable staff, to your awesome wine/beer/liquor selection, to your delicious tastings... I'm always sorry when I stray. Please forgive me, Imbibe! I'll be back ASAP. P.S. They have a great selection of Charles Smith's wines, which are really excellent across the board. I highly recommend giving one a try next time you swing by. I will start by saying the selection at the store is solid. Decent choices of both hard liquor and wine. Pricing is industry standard. What is driving my low rating is the service. Or should I say "attitude". I've made a point of going to the store three different times to see if the experience would be different and unfortunately, nope. Some of their staff may be knowledgeable about wine, but if they are they certainly haven't ever been working the days I've visited. Snobby and superior is the general treatment and frankly, if I'm going to spend my cash at a local store, I'd prefer to do it without the side of "attitude". I cannot stand to go into this place. The owner "thinks" he is a cut above. I got sick on some cassis that was bad. It was sold to me as being a French cassis. When I got sick on one glass of champagne with a splash of this garbage cassis I looked for a possible expiration date only to find that the cassis was from CA. I took the bottle back and they refused to do anything! The owner told me it was a state law "no returns" NOT! I called the state and that is a lie! The staff are primed in selling the bottles that they need to move. I left the bottle of cassis at the store @ 38.00 a bottle for this tainted sickly garbage... for the owners to have as an fing Christmas gift.I am a good customer and have spent a small fortune with Imbibe and for years with River Wine. Never again! The only times I have had an issue in over 23 years of dealing with this creep was when the staff or he himself recommended a product. Once when he was down at river wines before Imbibe years ago....I returned two terrible bottles of wine that he himself the owner recommended... second time one of his jumped up staff recommended something that they obviously needed to move...and now the cassis! NEVER AGAIN! My business will go elsewhere.I lived in Europe for years! Imbibe is in my opinion medioracy at best! read more

Great selection of beer and a good staff. BUT-The parking lot seems like a constant accident waiting to happen. Park on the street-it is so poorly designed you can't back out of your spot (if you get one) without being on top of other cars.
