The care from the radiology techs and front office staff is wonderful. Despite what you may be going through or the reason for your visit, they do their best to make you feel at ease. The check-in process is smooth, mostly electronic. The setting of the office is calm and tranquil, which enhances the overall experience. As a former MRI tech, I appreciate the care these techs take in helping you through the exam process. I've read a few reviews about financial issues. As a current director of accounts receivable at a large medical organization--it's critical that the client also be hyper-vigilant about reading their EOBs and following up with questions about potential discounts, overpayments, or denials. We do our level best to stay on top of accounts, but if billing is done by a third party and you have thousands of accounts it can be difficult. If you aren't getting the answers you want, and escalating to a supervisor doesn't help, I recommend a three way call to your provider with your insurance provider on the line. Especially if your provider is an in-network provider! That usually results in more clarity all around. read more

Whatever you do, stear clear of this facility. They have predatory billing practices that aim to maximize their profit at all cost and leave you, as the patient, feeling 100% fleeced, even WITH insurance (and 'good' insurance, to boot!!). They charged me over $7k for a preventative bilateral breast MRI. After insurance, my out-of-pocket was $700. They are not willing to set-up a payment plan. Fortunately, I have the money, but the whole process has made me feel like the victim of medical up-charging and corporate greed. The average MRI cost in Alaska is about $2k. RECONCILE AGAINST YOUR INSURANCE EOB OR THEY'LL KEEP YOUR OVERPAYMENT! DO NOT USE YOUR HRA DEBIT CARD HERE! Family member had MRI here on 3/12/24 which was fine. At the visit Imaging Associates charged us $894.73 estimated co-pay; we used HRA debit card to pay it. When I went to look at my EOB the breakdown was: Imaging Associates (as Jared D Kirkland per my Aetna EOB) billed $4,816.89. My in-network member rate was discounted by $2,834.30 making the total cost for the MRI $1,982.59 ($4,816.89 - $2,834.30). Aetna paid 80% or $1,586.07 ($1,982.59 x 80%), thereby leaving my 20% share of $396.52 my responsibility. I called and talked to Kimberly going over every line of my EOB and my charges. She agreed my ultimate share was $396.52 but insisted that was AFTER applying the $894.73 payment. I said your system is screwed up or someone is screwed up there as I obviously overpaid $498.21 (my actual coinsurance of $396.52 less the $894.73 paid with my HRA debit card) and am do a credit. We couldn't get on the same page even after walking through it line by line. I ended the call frustrated and said I needed a call back and a refund or credit back to my HRA debit card but in the meantime said I'd be leaving a negative review. If I ever use Imaging Associates or Jared D Kirkland again, I will most definitely assume their co-pay ask is inflated at least double what the real price is and insist they prove the calculation before paying and verify if it reflects in network or out of network prices. In the meantime my HRA debit card has been disabled by my 3rd party administrator because I can't provide an EOB showing that the $894.73 is legit...because it isn't legit. Maybe once I get refunded the overpayment I am due then I'll revisit this review. read more

I had x-rays done at Imaging Associates of Anchorage which was listed as an in-network provider and was shocked to receive a monstrous bill from an out-of-network radiologist weeks later. At no point was I told that my images would be sent to a provider who doesn't take my insurance. I was not given any consent forms or a Good Faith Estimate. I made multiple attempts to resolve this through their billing office, but each time I was either transferred without help or promised a supervisor call-back that never happened. After weeks of frustration and hours of personal time spent on the phone, I decided to file a federal complaint under the No Surprises Act which protects patients from exactly this kind of surprise medical billing. Not one day later I was getting multiple calls from the billing department stating that the billing issue (that didn't exist previously) was now being fixed! It's unacceptable that it took this much time and effort on my part to get them to fix an error that never should have happened, and meanwhile I was dealing with the stress of having a large bill hanging over my head which probably knocked a few days off my life expectancy on top of the wasted time trying to fix their error! My only reason for posting this review is so that others will know that you are not crazy, these companies keep us twisted in circles of confusion in hopes that we will give up but if you know your rights and keep pushing eventually they will be forced to do the right thing. read more

Update 1/25/22- I called Imaging Associates today to discuss the BS bill I was sent. The person in billing that I talked to said this was sent out in an "error" and actually I have a refund on my account. I then had to ask how I could be sent a bill in error and there was no response. I also had to ask for the refund to actually be processed which would have taken months if I hadn't of called. So had I not been diligent I would have paid the BS bill and waited months for the refund actually owned. AVOID at all costs. Clearly they are scamming every patient possible to afford their new boujie office. You have to pay for your services before you are even seen! Shady start to the visit, got to the exam room after paying $1500 and the tech didn't even bother reading the referral sheet to know why I was there. I got my EOB from my insurance company saying I was only responsible for about $1100 expecting a refund from the clinic but low and behold today I received a bill! The numbers on the bill didn't add up to anything meaningful or the amount they were requesting. In addition the bill stated they had already been paid $1800 for $1500 bill!!!!! Dr. York and his technicians are absolute rock stars! Joint injections are far from fun but they are a skilled, personable team. I like that Dr. York jokes back with me and we can have a good time during my short visits. I am so lucky to have found their office! I wish I could give more than a five-star rating. Previously, I visited Providence for a diagnostic mammogram, and was quite happy with the the service, and the procedure. The cost, however was staggering, because I ended up being responsible for a fairly large portion. I looked on the internet for an alternative imaging provider, when my annual screening became due, and Imaging Associates came up in my search. I asked my doctor to refer me to Imaging Associates, however there was a mix up, and I got scheduled for a diagnostic, as opposed to a screening mammogram. So of course when I discovered this at check in, I started to feel upset, however the staff member was professional, helpful, and told me exactly what to do. She was great. I got the situation rectified with my doctor, and rescheduled for a screening mammogram 2 days later. It's a beautiful building, clean, modern, airy and bright. The process is very polished - they know what they're doing, and are super professional about it. Obviously getting your boob squished in a vice isn't nice, but the way they treat you here minimizes anxiety and discomfort. The staff though! The staff are a credit, they are smiling, welcoming, informative, and an absolute joy. Honestly, they are wonderful. And today, I got a Thank You card! Unbelievable customer service. Thank you so much. Editing, because i had occasion to return for a biopsy to the right boob area. I have to say, as soon as i heard the word biopsy, in connection with my actual own self, i was a wreck. I'm scared of needles, and medical procedures, just hospitals in general. I spent 4 anxious days worrying about having it done, and I've been there today and had my biopsy. I seriously cannot praise the Staff enough - all of them - Betsy, and Jenay at check in, Jenn, and Pat my technicians, and Dr. Pigman the Radiologist- all of the staff here go above and beyond, and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable, and know exactly what will be happening, and to lessen any possible discomfort. They smile a lot, and laugh with you, and don't minimize your fear. I cannot recommend Imaging Associates enough, if you need anything of this nature done. And my actual biopsy? Well the targeting of the actual area, with the mammogram machine took some time, and like any mammogram is uncomfortable. The biopsy procedure, involving inserting a numbing agent, and removing cells was very fast, and it DIDN'T HURT! The numbing agent - you can always feel that, a gentle sting. But the biopsy itself, i didnt feel a thing. So go here for your imaging needs. I've give a higher rating if i could. read more

I never thought it'd be remarking on what a nice time I had at a mammogram appointment. I walked out smiling like I just went to brunch with a friend. The building itself has easy parking, and was plowed well for winter. The interior is modern and still welcoming. There's a selection of beverages and yummy chocolates in lobby. The young man that assisted me was fabulous! [The appt was a month ago but I'll be heading back for a CT this week and hope to get his name]. They offer pre-registration from your home which I didn't have time to do, but it's great they offer. My technician though, she made this experience amazing!!! I had the pleasure of speaking w her about how she got into this field of medicine, she expressed how much she enjoyed us patients she gets to bond with and see yearly; she truly made the whole thing just relaxing and FUN ‍ (again, not really how I normally feel about mammograms lol). read more

I have to warn patients that their scheduling is something to be aware of. I had made an appointment for a CT, when I arrived at the office, they told me it was for an ultrasound. Two days later my doctor calls me & tells me that they had specifically told them not to do an ultrasound, but to do the CT scan. So, I call them to let them know & to make another appointment for the CT scan. To make a long story short, they messed that appointment up too. I had been to this establishment a few times before & it was nice, but this incident makes me NEVER want to go back to the place again. Very very professional! From start to finish this process was very accommodating. I'm claustrophobic and cannot do tight spaces. This was not an issue. My tech was great!! He was very knowledgeable and personable. He eased my fears and reassured me at every turn. This was the most pleasant uncomfortable experience I've had to have. I showed up on time and received the paperwork they wanted me to fill out. I was taken back promptly by my tech. He explained my options and instructions. He answered every single question I had (because your girl had a ton of questions). He even recognized I was stalling and eased me into the machine. I hope I never need to come back for testing, but if need be this is where I'll do all of my imaginary from now on. I highly recommend if you have a choice in who does your imaging, that this is the place to go. read more

I was charged double for one procedure. I confirmed the amount of the exam at the front desk, as I know Alaska requires providers to give patients the costs of their procedures. It was around $800. They said they would submit to insurance so I did not pay when I left. When I got my explanation of benefits, I was charged for two different procedures, so the cost was double. I called billing and asked for an explanation. I received nothing from them. They then sent my bill to collections. Check your bills people! I will never go to Imaging Associates again. read more

Well my first mammogram was last year here at the same place. Last year I would have rated it quite a bit lower. Only because my chest felt like I was run over by a truck for about 3 weeks afterwards. I was in terrible pain. Now this time was wayyyyy better. The same gal did the procedure. I did explain to her my concerns about the previous time and she looked mortified that she had hurt me. I didn't know what they were supposed to feel like because I had no previous experience to compare it to. But talking with friends, family, and customers I learned that it was not normal. I felt terrible that she felt terrible. It wasn't her fault. But my husband said to let them know in case there was something they could do to make it more comfortable. So she used a different curved paddle this time and I tell ya. It was night and day difference. She is so sweet and funny. I really enjoyed my experience and definitely will be going to see her again. read more

I decided to come back here for another MRI because I had such a great experience last time. This time was even better. The imaging tech was amazing and made me feel comfortable. She asked me if I wanted her to talk to me throughout and that helped a lot. I recommend doing an open MRI if you have issues with claustrophobia - I didn't think I did, but my first MRI experience at a different imaging center was in a closed MRI and it was terrible. Wonderful imaging technical staff, but 1 * due to Billing! Paid estimate due quote for 3/29 pre-cancer MRI Planning scan, got my insurance statement saying I was due a refund. I called Imaging Associate Billing office since Late May told to call back June 4, After numerous calls and speaking to billing told they don't issues check from there office, now check need to be verified if they got money from insurance, Insurance paid them! Now the company that actually deals with mailing checks need 2 signatures!!!!!! Oh check should been there June 12 but they don't actually send the checks will will instant message them Gee whiz this is over $500 Not a happy customer and will not recommend them. It's never fun to do any medicals, especially when your not feeling well. What a nice change to have professionals take care of you. Anchorage tends to have no frills medical facilities. Those that have the resources go out of state. Imaging associates reminded me of these out of state facilities. Extremely professional and courteous. All areas clean and new looking. I was early. The check in desk lady wiped the counters down two times in 10 min. The Technician was the best. Clean IV first attempt. I must say the lady Technician was top notch. Great bed side manner and truly empathetic and gentle. Folks you get what you pay for.Thanks for the great care. I do appreciate all of you and the risks you take during this pandemic. read more

I was charged for a procedure that I did not receive. It has been 11 weeks and I still have not received a refund. I have called multiple times and been told conflicting explanations for why I have not received the refund and when I could expect to receive it. Husband went in for test in May and they required a $500.00 down payment. Like other customers on here, our insurance paid the full amount and we had to contact them for our refund mid-July. They said they would get it processed and sent to us. Today, Sept 15, still no refund and husband has to call again. Plan our telling our doctor and suggest they refer us and others to another imaging place...there are several to choose from! read more

I have had two MRI procedures plus X-rays in the past two weeks and both times the staff has been outstanding in their reception and patient care at Imaging Associates. I am slightly claustrophobic so anticipation of the MRI testing is about half of the battle to overcome anxiety but the staff both times put me at ease, provided the tools I needed to easily get through the tests and were very helpful at the conclusion. They made sure I was doing ok during each 40 minute MRI procedure and were compassionate and caring throughout. The X-ray technician explained the series of pictures required and very carefully put me in the correct frame with minimal discomfort. From first meeting in the office with the intake staff ,then the MRI professional staff, and the X-ray techs --all are very pleasant and professional. If you need diagnostic imaging done I highly recommend Imaging Associates-they treat the patient like a person--thank you. I have had imaging procedures(MRI, with and without contrast, X-rays,CAT Scan,Nuclear Medicine isotope scans) done at almost every facility in Anchorage(including both hospitals) and the staff and equipment here are right at the top. read more

In the past, I had used Providence Imaging, but I didn't want to go back there for various reasons. So when I needed a scan, I wasn't sure where to go. I heard Imaging Associates' radio ad on 650KENI, my favorite station. I gave them a call, and then I called the doctor to fax the orders. It was all super easy, and I had a great experience. Equipment is very old. Prices are very high. In Seattle in Policlinic you may get cheaper service, contemporary equipment and NO COO-PAYMENT!!!!!!!! Don't worry about - you're covered What they FAILED to mention is that Imaging Associates IS NOT a preferred provider for Premiera -- the top insurer in Alaska. We ended up with a $700 bill Had we gone to Providence imaging it would have been $50. Even after I told them to stop the procedure - they continued. This was before I was in the machine. They never asked me if I had any lotions or deodorant on. It took 3 of them over an hour to put a IV in for dye. I blame my doctor for ordering at the same time an ultra-sound and a CT scan for the same area. read more

Ladies, be advised that this imaging facility does not have a private mammography suite to protect your privacy. You will be changing in a tiny cubicle separated from a busy hallway by a flimsy curtain. After donning a tiny capelet to cover your bare chest, you will have to walk past male providers to get to the mammography room. No privacy, no woman-friendly art, no provision whatsoever for your comfort. Nice staff don't make up for such an insensitive set up. Get your mammogram someplace else. read more
