Also, I was concerned with educational activities accompanied by fun and playing in the daycare and they are great at this too.

Children's University

We made the tough decision to transfer our daughter to Children's University to be closer to home…read more I couldn't be happier with the decision. The greatest compliment has been my child saying about her old school, "I'm not returning because I love CU." (Talk about music to our ears when she said that.) CU is a warm, family-oriented environment that caters to the individual child. It provides the academic rigor vital for us, along with a host of enrichment opportunities from robotics and animal husbandry to chess and cheer. During our exploration, what sealed the deal was what we witnessed during our CU tour. We passed a group of children (who appeared close in age to my child) working on a group project in the library. They were discussing their different perspectives and had books that they were referencing. While we knew nothing about the project, I was impressed by how immersed they were in the work, and all appeared to be thoroughly enjoying the educational experience. So many vital skills were underway without them knowing it, which filled us with optimism about our child's future development at CU. Our family couldn't be happier to be part of the CU family. Our daughter is thriving; she has the best, most wonderful teacher. It's a true partnership, and we're beyond grateful. If you're looking for a program for your child, I recommend CU. It's a blend of academic excellence with a curriculum that challenges and inspires, enveloped in the most attentive environment dedicated to helping your child reach their fullest potential.

It's so funny leaving this review 20 years later. I went to CU from PreK-1st grade. It's a part of…read moremy childhood I hold onto fondly. I was a student when the giant treehouse was built. I don't want to be a teacher but if I were I'd want to be like the ones who shaped my time here. It makes me tear up thinking about all I experienced from meeting famous authors, starring in musicals, tipping in my Halloween costume on the yellow brick road, and that one time I refused to color in my connect the dots assignments and it was sent home with a note (my mom later framed it). Arlington is already diverse but it was good to see all the different backgrounds my friends were. If you're wondering if your kids will value going here, I am certain they will remember it fondly as CU fostered my love for reading, adventure, and friendship.

Timberview Farmstead - Goats and sheep

Timberview Farmstead opened in March of 2024, and this was my first. I am filled with joy and can…read moreguarantee I will be back and in the meantime, sharing this gem with my friends and neighbors! Timberview will be a huge establishment; I wish them the best of luck as they continue to grow! Typically, there are 30 - 40 people who come to the events. They also do field trip days where they have 120 kids at a time doing all the fun activities and meeting the animals. My friend and I got lucky to have a near private tour with us and grandparents with their grandkids. Seth was kind enough to show us all around, teach us all about the animals and this wonderful place. Normally, it is more free roam. The summer schedule runs as follows: Daily Farm Schedule 10:15 AM Rabbit Races at the Small Animal Barn 10:45 AM Petting Tables at the Small Animal Barn 11:15 AM Sheep and Goat Walk Meet in front of the Large Animal Barn 12:15 PM Hold the Chickens at the Poultry Barn 1:00 PM Daily Theme Activity Each day is a different activity, and those are: TEA PARTY TUESDAYS Join us for afternoon tea with the bunnies! WATER WEDNESDAYS Bathe the goats, water the plants, and feed the ducks! TAKE HOME THURSDAYS Come pick up a farm activity to bring home! FISHING FRIDAYS Pick up a pole and head to boathouse! I loved the rabbit races. Getting to pick your rabbit, and then they put on race music for the bunnies to get excited and run. It is so fun. Reese and Waffles won our races, so you can try those two bunnies for your races. They did let us know two bunnies that we could not pick because they just had babies or were pregnant. They take good care of their animals here! Another activity that we thoroughly enjoyed was the goat and sheep walk. It unlocked a new joy for me. Seeing kids walk a goat or sheep. There is nothing quite like it! One child walked the mama goat, and the baby followed the whole way. One sheep (Ana) decided she did not want to go for a walk and dug her heels in the ground, so they let her go out to the pasture. Again, nothing is forced. If the animal doesn't want to or is tired, they get a pass. I can't wait for their fall activities! They plan to be open every Saturday in October and will have pumpkins and likely a small hay maze. December plans are unknown, but they may also be open on Saturdays, so follow their Facebook page and website for details to come. In the future, they hope to have a farmers market, coffee shop, and eventually a restaurant. Right now, their produce is sold to Tacos Oasis, a restaurant down the road and a catering company. We got to see them harvesting microgreens during the visit. Seth taught us about aquaponics, a method of growing lettuce in water from fish, which combines hydroponics with raising fish in tanks. About 20 employees work here, and the 5 or so that we got to interact with were welcoming and honestly, heartwarming to chat with. Seth obviously stands out because he walked around with us for two hours, but also T. She is a midwife who is changing up careers and a very pleasant person to chat with about the animals. The last thing I'll note. For being a farm, it is shocking how clean this place is! They do a great job keeping the floors clean. Ample hand washing stations and a few bathrooms in some buildings. The one thing I found missing was a diaper changer. It's possible they have one, but just not in the rabbit barn bathroom. Come enjoy, stay as long as you can, and definitely become a member to get the most joy from this place! Pack water, snacks, and a full lunch so you and the kids can stay happy during your visit. You can also visit Taco Oasis down the road afterward like we did! Check out all my pictures for detailed captions on cool things we saw.

I have zero interest in sending my child here again. We were really excited for this camp this past…read moresummer, but unfortunately our child didn't have a very good experience. The first thing I noticed at this camp is that there are A LOT of kids attending each week. It seems as though all the counselors were either teenagers or college students.... Basically, kids watching kids. The parking lot for drop off and pick-up is extremely small and tight, so be prepared. My one star rating is based solely on the lack of urgency or desire for camp staff to address issues. As far as our experience went, there were a lot of problems within the small group that weren't addressed by the camp... the main concern being bullying. I reached out to the lead counselor in charge of the group to address my concerns, and was told that "there are several problem kids in the group. Because there are only two of them they can't see everything going on." I also reached out to the Executive Director, Courtney "Pearl" Kaiser through email to address my concerns on 6/21/24, and almost four months later I'm still waiting for a response. If you decide to send your child here, I would recommend sending them with a friend, and place them in the same group. This will make their summer camp experience much more enjoyable.

I went there today and I want to go again! The games are so fun and challenging and I really…read morelearned to work together with other people. The staff are super nice and helpful. Shout out to "Timberwolf" and "tron" the price is expensive but it's worth it! Such a great way to spend your day! I definitely recommend it.
