Twistback is a great place to just visit for a tour as well (excellent opportunity for homeschool art history lessons) and they also offer art restoration and precious rug cleaning and repair. Put Twistback on your list if you are in the area-you won't regret it!

From the moment I spoke with Caitlin, I knew this would be perfect. The pictures are gorgeous online but in person, perfect. Stop by if you can. This venue is absolutely stunning and HUGE, perfect for a wedding or any life event. The bonus is the all the history behind it. I could not have been happier with my choice, honestly. Thank you, Caitlin! BTW - Use Montesano Brothers for catering. The staff and cuisine were fabulous.

We wanted our guests to walk into our venue and say 'WOW this is so Matt and Erin.' Mission accomplished! This was our one and only venue we toured. From the gorgeous courtyard where we were married, to the ruins where we took pictures, to the gorgeous reception space with its stunning original hardwoods and beautiful chandlers, it was everything we had hoped to find. Working with Allie was a dream - she transitioned out right before our wedding but their current venue manager, Brittany was absolutely wonderful and picked up where Allie left off seamlessly. Getting ready that day was so wonderful thanks to the beautiful bridal suite and my hubby-to-be was thrilled to have the grooms suite. We had viewed several online that provided no where for him to get ready - it's his day too! That was a must for us. Our guests loved wandering the property during cocktail hour and could not get over how beautiful The Washington is. We could not have asked for a more perfect day or a more perfect venue. I wish I could do it all over again!

They always have fresh ingredients and willing to accommodate a picky eater like myself. There's ample parking and the place has a very home feeling, which is excellent. Our waitress was kind, attentive, and very professional. We each started with a small cup of the lobster bisque and shared the crab cakes. Both were outstanding, and the crab cake was especially memorable since it wasn't your typical style--really well done. For entrées, my boyfriend had the lamb chops and I ordered the seared sea scallops. The lamb chops were easily a 10/10! The scallops were cooked perfectly, though I personally felt the pumpkin risotto could have used more seasoning. I really wanted to try dessert but I was completely stuffed. Our waitress still insisted on bringing a complimentary scoop of ice cream, which was rich, delicious, and such a thoughtful touch. Overall, a wonderful meal and experience. I'm already looking forward to coming back!

The manager offered "to spray while we are out of the room" and said that the spray is "non-toxic." I asked what the spray was, and he replied that it is something like Raid, toxic to the ants but not toxic to humans. If you don't like ants, you might want to find a different hotel.

Eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, pastries, fruit, cheese and cold cuts are added during the week. ** added note after 4 nights I asked if they ever served bacon.. the server assured me they do on weekdays but rarely on weekends, but here I was on my second weekday and she said it was because they had an abundance of sausage and Offered to bring my son and I some bacon. We were delighted to take her up on her offer. I love the convenient location off the turnpike. They have a small bar in the lobby, not sure of hours. They also have a pool and workout room. Great place to stay for the price.

Our guests had a blast roaming the grounds and the rooms inside, as well as dancing the night away on the terrace, which was surprisingly breezy for a warm August night!
