Fabulous selections. There are yarns available for all tastes and budgets. The owner, Dianna, is delightful, friendly, and outgoing. Shared her experience, but is also open to new ideas and techniques. Two sofas in the middle of the shop offer an excellent gathering spot for an impromptu visit or respite knitting! The classroom at the back of the shop offers a quieter, more private (and perhaps less intimidating for the new knitter) space and perhaps even an area to block larger pieces. I've been a knitter for about 20 years. A new Crochet Along is about to start using a certain combination of colors. My go to store didn't have any of the colors in any of the yarns (it happens, no biggie). I check the other stores suggested and gave Wood & Knit a shot. Not only did they have everything in needed at a GREAT price, I (located in Georgia) neglected to ask for shipping! I didn't realize till much later in the day. I woke up to a response to my email at 1am. Telling to not worry. They would ship it right out and because I ordered so much (believe me I usually order way more) I should have received a couple of free skeins! What!!! And because I didn't it should cover shipping!!! whaaat!!! If I didn't already have a lot of yarn at home I would have bought more. I bought 4 skeins of yarn in two colours and a box of granny square patterns. Thank you! Which, you might be surprised, is now softer and less scratchy than most acrylic yarns. Though some of these yarns are naturally at a somewhat higher price point than low-cost yarn at a big-box store, I was pleased to see that there really are budget-friendly items here. That it might be better to do a smaller project with high-quality yarn rather than buy a large quantity of cheap stuff. The owner was very friendly and helpful. It was so nice talking with her. They can find books easier and more readily than a simple web search. If you need a title, they go out of their way to find it. Their service has always been excellent.
