On two separate visits for an MRI, I was not properly informed in advance about what documentation or items I needed to bring. Each time, this resulted in having to reschedule--something that could have easily been avoided with clearer communication upfront. What was most concerning was that even after finally providing everything requested, I was brought into the MRI area and prepared for the scan, only to be told at that point that I still needed to leave and retrieve additional information. This led to a total visit time of over four hours without completing the procedure. To their credit, some staff members acknowledged the disorganization, but that does not make up for the inconvenience and wasted time. For a medical facility, especially one handling scheduled imaging, this level of inefficiency and lack of preparation is disappointing. Based on my experience, I would not return and would recommend that others confirm all requirements in detail before scheduling or arriving.

I occasionally have to have a biopsy here that is 4 hours long and I need to be awake for. Basically, they mash my bewbs between two grates while I go in and out of an MRI machine and they drill holes to biopsy where they think there might be something suspicious. As you can imagine, I hate having this done and I'm an absolute f@cking bitch when I check in for the procedure. I must say, they staff is so great, they never once crack by being nasty back!

I appreciated that very much. The results were uploaded to MyChart within the hour. Very efficient and nice people. Because I went in within 2 hours of my appointment, the insurance had not approved my test. They waited until the last minute to see If it would be approved and gave me the option to pay out of pocket or reschedule. I didn't have time or want to risk having a problem, so unpaid out of pocket and will working out with my insurance. They were very upfront about it and I liked having the option.

I used to work in healthcare. I know emergency rooms are stressful, unpredictable places. That said, I was put on a bed in the hallway for my entire visit. No room. No curtain. No privacy. No TV. Just me, my migraine, and the hallway. Even the ER at RWJ Somerset gave me my own little curtained-off area with a TV. I never thought I would find myself nostalgically reminiscing about an ER curtain, but here we are. I was given medication through an IV that did help my migraine, but it also made me extremely jittery -- to the point that after I was discharged, I was having a very difficult time functioning normally. Obviously, I understand that medications can have side effects. What bothered me more was how little support I felt I received around it. The interaction with the doctor was also unnecessarily unpleasant. I asked, very politely, "Can I have a head CT?" His response was: "I just said that." Listen. I know patients can be difficult. I know healthcare workers get tired, overwhelmed, and frustrated. I've worked in healthcare myself. But I wasn't yelling, demanding anything, or being disrespectful. I was sick, scared, and asking an innocent question nicely. There was absolutely no reason to speak to me that way. After I got home, the jitteriness was still significant, so I called the ER hoping to ask whether there was anything over-the-counter I could take or whether a prescription could be called in to help with the reaction. No one answered the phone. So, in summary: impressively short wait, hallway accommodations, zero privacy, medication that left me feeling worse in an entirely new and exciting way, a rude interaction with the physician, and then no one available when I called for guidance afterward. Hopefully there won't be a next time. But if there is, I'll be going to Cooperman in Livingston instead. One star for getting me in quickly. I would have preferred to wait a little longer and be treated like a person.

Dr. Montgomery and NP Vaccari have been exceptional throughout her care, especially during her recent meniscus transplant and osteotomy, which was her most complex surgery to date. Their professionalism, expertise, kindness, and excellent bedside manner helped ease our concerns and made the recovery process much smoother than we expected. This is the second surgery Dr. Montgomery has performed on my daughter, and both outcomes have been outstanding. Her recovery has been excellent, and we are very grateful for the quality of care she has received over the years. I would also like to recognize Jermaine, who is always friendly, welcoming, and a pleasure to interact with. His positive attitude helps make every visit a pleasant experience. The entire team contributes to a warm and professional environment. While this is a very busy practice and wait times can sometimes be longer than expected, the quality of care is absolutely worth it. Today, I lost a beloved immediate family member who was staying at this hospital for over a month. However, the care she received and the kindness my family was shown throughout the past heart-wrenching weeks was phenomenal. While I stand firmly in my decision to give a five star review, I'd like to point out that hospital security is an area that could use significant improvement. To visit patients, all that is needed is to state the patient's name/room number, and a visitor sticker is given. Anyone can walk right up to the room, no questions asked. Sometimes, people just walk right past the desk and no one questions it. Everyone who enters a space with vulnerable patients should need to sign in and provide proof of identification, at the very least. The hospital also could use visible security guards (especially during late night hours). I felt uncomfortable walking alone from the hospital to my car in the parking lot during the night, after staying with family member in palliative care. It was a ghost town; there was no one to be found at the front desk, in the lobby, outside of the building entrance, or in/around the parking lot/garage. With that said, feel confident in taking your loved ones to this hospital to ensure that they are receiving thorough, top quality medical care.
